INFOPACK 2 RTF 0-2014-02 APRIL 13 - 20, 2014

Our Motto So what is a Berraquera? Berraquera like many of our words has many meanings but in this case we will use it to express 2 things, excitement and drive. When something is really great, the “paisas” (people from Medellín and its surrounding regions) say “esto es una berraquera”, and you can rest assure that we will do everything to make this RTF a berraquera for you. The paisas are also characterized as being “berracos”; motivated and driven people who work hard and are determined to succeed. We hope that all of you coming bring the berraco attitude and help us make this the best RTF yet.

Fees

We have been in contact with the NAs, to try to make all payments through an international transfer, and avoid the use of so much cash at the campsite. Please make sure that your NA knows you are coming and so we can fix the transfer through them.

Shuttle costs We will organize a shared shuttle from and to the airport for people to be more comfortable and get a less expensive price to arrive at the RTF Site. We will have a fixedprice of US$25, one way per person or US$50 both ways. This means that a person with a sign with your name and a CISV Logo will be waiting for you at the arrival of your flight. If you arrive before registration hour (16h), we will take you to the campsite and offer you to pay for the according meals. Please fill out this form if you would like to use either of the arriving or departing shuttle BEFORE 5th OF APRIL: http://form.jotformz.com/form/40758297519670

Excursion day We will organize an excursion. We will offer a city tour around the city of MedellĂn on the afternoon of the 16th of April. The idea is to pick people up at the RTF Site, and leave for 3 hours to go around the city and get to know the most emblematic places. The cost will be US$30 per person.

¿Who wants to be a ‘berraco’? As we said in the previous Info Pack, we want this RTF to be “la berraquera” and all of you to become real “berracos” after this trainings! Being ‘berraco’ is being selfmotivated, hard working, determined, skillful, optimistic, goal-driven. It is someone that never gives up, that is willing to accept any challenge, no matter how impossible it may seem. But how do we know who is the most “berraco” of all? Well, we are preparing a series of challenges and games –with very well thought indicators– that will determine who deserves the paisa prize of the most berraco of all. Trainers get prepared, you will have a special role in this game, that will lead you to the hall of fame! There will be contests, quizzes, challenges, surprise prizes, sanctions...and, of course, A PRIZE. Since there will be a lot of people (we’re expecting more than a 100!) you will be competing for this prize by groups...in the end being ‘berraco’ is also about cooperation and teamwork.

FINAL REMINDERS What to Bring? Colombia is a country full of carnivals where people come together to share and party. Carnival typically involves a public celebration or parade combining some elements of a circus, mask and public street party. Therefore at this RTF we will invite you to live 3 main events that happen in Colombia: • The Carnival of Blacks and Whites is celebrated every year between January 4 and 6 in Pasto, an Andean city located in southwestern Colombia. There we will see people of all ages go out and celebrate diversity, people are willing to have “pinticas” (small marks) of black and white face paint drawn on their clothes, face, arms, and any uncovered part of the body. Please bring black and white clothes. • The Barranquilla Carnival is the Most Colorful Carnival in the World. It is celebrated between March 1 and 4. It is the most genuine expression of the Colombian people and a blend of colors, races, legends, gaiety, parties, and musical rhythms like cumbia, mapalé, garabato and son del negro. Please bring a colorfull and unique outfit. • The Medellín Flower Fair is a flood of flowers. In August, when Medellín – known as the “city of eternal spring” – blooms in all its splendor and balconies, terraces, gardens, and billboards get flooded with flowers, it is the beginning of the famous fair. Please bring clothes full of flowers. • Please bring something from your country –a small but cool and non-alcoholic object, which you would like to receive from someone else. We will bring them here to you: Let’s enjoy, dance and party!!
