You will hear how the Oscar got its name, see show stopping numbers from ceremonies past, and learn tons of great Oscar trivia, from the movie that won the most Oscars to the only man to win twice for the same performance. It’s a fabulous night on the red carpet that you won’t want to miss.
Good neighbor rules will apply: win once and win a prize, thereafter the prize passes to your neighbor on the right as seen on the screen by MAYC staff. About 10 games will be played. All are eligible to win again for coverall. Prizes will be mailed to winners following play. The MAYC offers monthly Zoom tutorials on select Thursdays. If you need help connecting on Zoom, give MAYC staff a call at 763-786-9375 to schedule a tutorial.
Power of Friendship Thursday, April 15, 2:30pm
This interactive presentation explores the extra value and importance of friendship in these turbulent days of the pandemic. Participants will chat about why finding creative ways to engage with others is so vital to our well-being. In addition, plan to explore the psychological impacts of social disconnection and the positive steps we can take to overcome the loneliness and isolation associated with it. Nourishing meaningful relationships and investing in new ones – especially in the face of social distancing – provides a powerful antidote to loneliness. Come connect with us and share some laughter, hope, and joy. Together, we will harness the power of friendship and remind ourselves why being there for each other is what matters most. Also, you won’t want to miss out on the door prize drawing at the end of the program. Register in advance by calling 763-786-9375, and connect on Zoom at BlaineMN.gov/SeniorZoom.

Property Tax Refund Assistance M1PR, Minnesota Property Tax Refund
Staff are diligently planning to offer virtual property tax assistance with preparation of the M1PR forms for renters, single family, and mobile homeowners. Volunteers will coach clients over the phone how to fill out their M1PR forms, which they can then file. If someone needs to have their income taxes done, they will need to have them completed before a volunteer can assist with the M1PR form. More information will be shared as it becomes available. Watch for updates in future issues of the MAYCConnect.
