Advanced registration Wearing a mask that covers the nose and mouth at all times Temperature scan with a reading of 100.4° or less upon arrival Six feet social distancing Any other criteria given by staff at time of registration.
These procedures are in place to keep both participants and staff safe. Thank you in advance for following the protocols so that we can continue to offer programs for the community. We also encourage you to follow CDC recommendations and be fully vaccinated before participating in programming. Other precautions in place are the new air flow ionization system, new/improved furnace filters, tabletop Plexiglas barriers, sanitizer stations, and consistent sanitation procedures, all designed to help you feel safe. Staff are following state and federal guidelines so program start dates, times, and details are subject to change. Please be flexible as we navigate this process. Participants may enter the building up to 15 minutes prior to program start time, and must exit immediately following the program conclusion. Bathroom breaks should be taken as needed, not at program conclusion. Staff will let you know which doors to enter and exit, or the outdoor location designated, when you register.

Creative Corner
Thursdays, 1:30-3:30pm, Oak Room, Projected Start Date June 3 Tired of working alone or being alone? Lost your inspiration to create? Looking to be creative again? Perhaps this new group is for you. For the past year, many older adults have been isolated from people due to COVID-19. Many have experienced a lack of motivation, inspiration, and companionship. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Changes are on the horizon. The Mary Ann Young Center (MAYC) has a place for you to gather with others to begin or resume arts/crafts projects while maintaining social distancing. This creative outlet may be painting, knitting, crocheting, woodcarving, or other activities. This is your chance for new scenery, adjusting to or creating a new schedule, and a place to get your creative groove back. Nancy, a MAYC volunteer, art teacher, and card player, will be on site for this weekly gathering of artisans and crafters. Nancy will be painting her own projects but will also be available for guidance and assistance. This is a gathering place for creativity, not a teaching class. Participants must register in advance each week. Limit of 10 participants. Masks are required while in the MAYC and social distancing must be maintained. To register, call to register or to ask questions at 763-786-9375 or visit BlaineMN.gov/MAYCRegister.
