Woodcarving at the MAYC Since 2002 Mary Juneau Holds Woodcarving Expo Mary Juneau started participating in woodcarving classes at the Mary Ann Young Center in 2002. Mary can still be found regularly at the MAYC enjoying woodcarving groups for beginners and her fellow woodcarving veterans. Recently Mary was asked to display her woodcarvings at her apartment building. Residents at Blaine Courts enjoyed Mary's woodcarving expo and hopefully we will see some new woodcarving fans after they saw Mary's impressive display.

Curbside Lunch Transition Beginning November 1 It is great to see so many taking advantage of dining in the Tom Ryan Room. There were nearly 80 people eating inside at the last beef pot roast dinner. As indoor dining numbers continue to climb, the serving needs increase as well. In order to provide quality service to indoor diners, those previously picking up meals curbside will need to come inside to pick up meals starting November 1. If you are unable to come into the building to pick up your meal, please contact MAYC staff at 763-786-9375. Your flexibility is greatly appreciated as we navigate the dining program.
Murder at Haversham Manor at the Old Log Theatre Thursday, January 27, $88 The trip begins with lunch at 11:30AM, followed by the play at 1:30PM. The play has been called “the funniest play Broadway has ever seen” (The Huffington Post) and "A Gut-Busting Hit!" (The New York Times). This classic murder mystery is chock-full of mishaps and madcap mania. Welcome to opening night of The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. Register by December 27.
Footloose at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre Wednesday, February 2, $96
This exhilarating musical will bring down the house. Broadway’s smashhit is filled with dazzling choreography, electrifying music, and a moving story. When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small Texas farming town, he is prepared for an adjustment period at his new high school. But he is not prepared for the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, who is determined to exercise control over the town’s youth. The heartfelt story that emerges pits a father longing for the son he lost, against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. Trip includes, motor coach, play, and lunch. Dessert is on your own. Register by January 3. No refunds after January 3. Space is limited. Pick up time: 9:15AM Return time: 4:15PM (times are approximate). To register or ask questions, call 763-786-9375 or visit BlaineMN.gov/MAYCRegister.

Register to view this fun film that also stars James Caan, Ann Margret, Jane Curtin, Christopher Lloyd, and Loretta Devine. Rated: PG-13.
