The Winter Holiday Celebration at Blaine City Hall, will include a variety of great activities for the whole family. All activities are free and run continuously throughout the evening. The event will feature the lighting of Tom Ryan Park with beautiful lights and a large lit tree. Enjoy live holiday music, s’mores by the fire, hot chocolate, and much more. Santa and his reindeer will be at the event, but Santa will not be available for individual visits or photographs. Children can be part of the kids secret holiday shopping spree which will be located inside city hall, gifts range from $1 - $15 and gift wrapping is free. Volunteers are needed. RecPartners On the first Tuesday of August each year, Blaine joins communities around Minnesota for Night to Unite, an evening of neighborhood festivities aimed at increasing crime prevention awareness and building a strong community. Members of the Blaine Police Department and SBM Fire Department make an effort to appear at all registered block parties in the city. The evening also includes a chance to participate in giving back to the community. Several block parties hold a collection drive for area non-profit organizations.

RecPartners Co-sponsored by the Blaine Police and Parks and Recreation Departments, and the Spring Lake Park – Blaine – Mounds View Fire Department. More than 160 fourth grade children will spend two days learning skills necessary to avoid injury and cope with emergency situations. RecPartners To mark the start of the dog days of summer, Blaine hosts Bark in the Park. Bring your favorite four-legged friend and visit with companies and nonprofit groups specializing in dogs. Dog licenses will be available for free (with proof of vaccination), nail trimming will be offered, and dog merchandise will be for sale at the vendor booths. Pet owners and their pets can also enjoy the pup-arazzi photo booth, sounds of the Backyard Band, and delicious food from food truck vendors. The Blaine Wetland Sanctuary (BWS) is over 500 acres of wetland and upland. A boardwalk through sanctuary extends from a parking lot along Lexington Avenue through both wetland and upland habitats and connects to East Lake Park. Future plans include additional trails (exact locations are yet to be determined) and a nature pavilion.
