Program Spotlight Woodcarving Groups
Footloose at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre Wednesday, February 2, $96
This exhilarating musical will bring down the house. When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small Texas farming town, he is prepared for an adjustment period at his new high school. But he is not prepared for the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher. The heartfelt story that emerges pits a father longing for the son he lost, against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. Trip includes, motor coach, play, and lunch. Dessert is on your own. Register by January 3. No refunds after January 3. Space is limited. Pick up time: 9:15AM Return time: 4:15PM (times are approximate).
Minnesota History Center

You will then have time to explore the museum until the group departs for lunch at the Downtowner Woodfire Grill. National Mentoring Month Mentors encourage and enable another person’s professional or personal development. Mentors act as an advisor to a less experienced individual, called the mentee. Developing relationships can help both the mentor and the mentee learn new things, build networks and grow as a person. Individual growth and skill development are typical desired results. Don’t forget the benefit of neurons being transmitted in the brain as you learn new things! There are many mentors in our midst at the Mary Ann Young Center. Leaders teaching others are present in much of the programs that happen at the MAYC such as: basket making class, mah jongg, hand and foot, ukulele, fitness, soil and sunshine garden club, woodcarving, and more. Coming soon is beginning pinochle, another great mentorship opportunity. It is great to see so many people willing to teach their skills. Staff appreciate your gifts of talent and time. Kudos!
