3M OPEN STREET PARKING RESTRICTIONS

The City of Blaine recently opened a customer service center on the first floor of Blaine City Hall. The new customer service center is part of the renovation of Blaine City Hall that took place over the last year. The customer service center is designed to be a one stop shop for residents and visitors as they conduct city business. If specific help is needed from another city department the customer will be directed to the correct location at city hall. While most city business can be conducted online, we know that some individuals would rather come into city hall to be helped in person. The customer service center is also equipped with special equipment for communicating with community members who are deaf or hard of hearing. Language translation services are also available at the customer service center. Below is a listing of some of the services available at the customer service center. Blaine City Hall is open Monday-Friday from 8AM until 4:30PM. Customer Service Center Services • • • • • • • • • • •

The Fleet Services Division is essential to City operations as it performs maintenance on cityowned vehicles and equipment. This includes police vehicles, snow plows, lawn mowers, and hundreds of other pieces of equipment The division of four full-time employees operates the maintenance shop for both heavy fleet and light fleet vehicles and equipment including a total of 591 units, of which 344 are rolling stock, plus another 100 or so chainsaws, weed whips, blowers, and other small engines. In the last year, The Fleet Services Division went through 225,000 gallons of fuel, 730 gallons of DEF fluid, 2,800 gallons of oil, antifreeze, and other lubrication fluids, and 309 tires. Night to Unite Civic Ready Test Tuesday, August 2 On the first Tuesday of August each year, Blaine joins communities around Minnesota for Night to Unite, an evening of neighborhood festivities aimed at crime prevention and building a strong community. Members of the Blaine Police Department and SBM Fire Department make an effort to visit as many registered block parties as possible during the event. Find a party near you or start your own event.

Local Students Create Artwork for Blaine Police Department Students from Blaine High School and Spring Lake Park High School recently completed artwork that will be on display in the recently renovated Blaine Police Department offices. The police department approached the students with the idea and the outcome was fantastic. The students spent many hours outside of the school day working on these wonderful pieces of art. Members of the police department were able to meet with each student group and have a pizza party to celebrate their partnership. We want to thank all the students who worked so hard on this project.
