Welcome Funfare Magazine • Fall 2018

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

S

ummer truly flew by! We welcomed over 275 campers to four different camp sites. We witnessed countless smiles and unforgettable memories being made throughout our traditional and specialty camps. Keep up the fun this fall by taking advantage of our many programs and events! Be sure to confirm the location of your favorite programs as some may have moved due to the closure of the Art and Civic Centers for our redevelopment project.

Kayaking at Intracoastal Park by Brandon Drucker

The City of Boynton Beach is committed to providing every resident, visitor and business accessibility to all of our services and attractions. All of our recreation services, programs and facilities are inclusive and open to all citizens. Did you know that we were the first to be named an Autism Friendly City in Palm Beach County? We’re incredibly proud of our Autism inclusion program. The vibrant artwork for our City calendar (pictured left) was designed by Brandon Drucker, a self-taught artist with autism. We recently installed a new EZ Kayak Launch at Harvey E. Oyer Jr. Park so that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Intracoastal Waterway. We are continually working on enhancing City services and facilities to make them more accessible. You may have noticed our new parking canopies at Congress Avenue Barrier Free Park and Oceanfront Park. We have partnered with FPL on innovation and sustainability to advance clean energy through their SolarNow program. These solar canopies harness the power of the sun while providing visitors with shade and covered parking. Between these canopies and our two solar trees at Oceanfront Park, the City of Boynton Beach supplies more than 260 kilowatts powering the grid with emissions-free energy that all FPL customers benefit from. We’re thrilled to be able to help build a sustainable Boynton Beach! Stay in the know of all of our exciting updates by following us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram: @boyntonbeachrec. Get out in our parks and share your posts with us via #wemakelifefun! Warm regards,

EZ Kayak Launch 4
