Grandmaster Schmitt’s School of Martial Arts system is a mix of traditional and contemporary martial arts that offers not only an effective self-defense program, but a means for personal development and discipline that can lead to success in other areas of your life. You will learn to become a peak performer in the martial arts, combative arts, and performing arts.

Dubuque Tactical Weapons Academy takes the best and most effective skills from various martial arts styles and combines them into one eclectic system of training. It blends traditional martial art teaching concepts with a modern day tactical approach. It is taught in a safe and controlled environment by expert instructors, and focuses on both open hand self-defense applications as well as traditional and modern weapons defense strategies. This session will focus on Filipino Stick Fighting, Open Hand Drills, Tactical Knife Defenses, and Gun Defenses and Disarming Techniques. Lightsaber Academy $25/R, $30/NR

Curriculum focuses on technical skills, offense/defense strategies, stage performance, competition training, and the philosophy of mindfulness. The DBQ Saber Academy is an affiliate member of the Elite Saber Training Alliance. Classes meet Monday evenings year round. The Leisure Services session is a repeated beginner program limited to a first-time student only.
