Winter Fun

Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

Cross-country skiing and showshoeing is allowed in any of Dubuque’s parks or along the City’s trail systems when areas are completely covered with snow. Popular locations include Eagle Point Park and Bunker Hill Golf Course.

Bunker Hill Golf Course requires a minimum of three inches of snow cover and it is requested that tees and greens not be used. Tees are level, rectangular areas with wooden posts nearby, and greens are level, circular areas which are susceptible to snow compaction damage. Specific trails are not groomed, so come be the first to create a new trek! Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing is available from sunrise to sunset.

Ice Skating

The rink is open daily from 9 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. and lights are available from 4 - 9:30 p.m. The light switch is located on a gray electrical utility box along Nowata St. No restroom facilities are available.

Public skating is available at the indoor rink at the Mystique Community Ice Center. Admission is $6 for all ages and $3 for skate rental. They also offer group packages. For more information, visit mystiqueicecenter.com.
