DOWNTOWN FORNEY MOBILE FOOD CART
City Council approved an ordinance approving a conditional use permit for a food vendor to operate at 210 E. Broad Street. The food vendor will be a mobile hot dog cart located next to the cotton gin in Downtown Forney. The anticipated operating hours are Thursday through Saturday: 10:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday: 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
INNOVATION BOULEVARD
City Council approved a right-of-way plat for Innovation Boulevard. The purpose of this plat is to establish public rightof-way south of the new middle school, intermediate school and along the future Adams Ranch planned development. This plat consists of 4.7 acres of land and provides a 90’ rightof-way, extending from the proposed right-of-way in the Forney MS/IS Addition Final Plat to Ranch Road. The roadway within this new right-of-way will assist with heavy vehicular traffic that is expected for the development of the school in the area.
MOVIES IN THE PARK
Join us for our next Movie in the Park! Parks and Recreation will show 101 Dalmatians on July 28th at the Spellman Amphitheater. Gather your family and friends, pack your blankets and chairs, and join us for a fun-filled evening at the Spellman Amphitheater! The movie will start at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.)
BREWS ON BOIS D' ARC
The City of Forney is once again hosting Brews on Bois D’Arc, a craft-beer-inspired event in historic Downtown Forney. On September 30th, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., this FREE event will highlight local craft beer as well as food trucks and live music. Headling the event will be Texas Country greats Micky and the Motorcars. Stay tuned as we will soon announce participating breweries. For more information, visit our website.
