WATER IMPROVEMENTS
City Council approved for the City to enter into agreement with FreemanMillican (an engineering firm) to study and update the design of our City’s water model for recent system improvements and to analyze the needs of the City at full buildout. They will then evaluate the water pressure specifically on the north side of Highway 80 between Mustang Creek and FM 548 and include an engineering design for a 1M gallon elevated water storage tank and connecting lines (should it be needed for the higher-pressure levels). Funding will come from the City’s Capital Improvement Program and designated funds from governmental “ARPA” funds.
BOARD AND COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS
Appointments for City-wide Boards and Commissions has always been the onsibility of City Council. It also appoints members “off cycle” when a vacancy urs and just appointed its newest member to the Economic Development C") Board. City Council is asking that to be considered for any future board/ mission appointment, he/she must be in attendance at City Council to wer questions, and all applicants for this recent position were indeed present. ncil publicly stated how much it appreciated the professionalism and overall quality of each candidate and is excited for what the future brings from the residents looking to serve our community. Appointments will occur again in June.

Some proposed changes include adding term limits, changing om 2 to 3 year terms, creating staggered terms, adding special elections for ertain vacancies, and changing the mayoral vote to a tie-breaking vote only. ore information will be available in the Fall, and residents will have the final say y voting in November on the governmental structure they wish to have for the future of this growing City and its elected officials.
