SHANDS AND SOUTH CENTER DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS
City Council approved a Professional Services Agreement with Pierce-Murray Land Solutions, LLC, to provide consulting services to prepare a drainage study to address drainage improvements near the intersection of Shands Street and South Center Street. The consultant will coordinate with the City to identify some solutions, prepare cost estimates, and ultimately choose an economical solution that addresses the issues.
GATEWAY BLVD LEFT TURN LANE EXTENSION
City Council approved reimbursement to Holt Lunsford Commercial for an extension of the Southbound Turn Lane on South Gateway Boulevard onto Eastbound Akron Way. This addition will enhance traffic safety and flow, especially with the ongoing development in the area. Plus, this partnership has the potential to offer cost savings to the city by utilizing the contractor already employed by the developer and onsite in the vicinity to build the turn lane on behalf of the city. INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
The City of Forney is once again hosting its annual Independence Day Celebration at Forney Community Park! Join us for an evening full of good food, live music, fun, and fireworks! We will have approximately 20 food vendors offering a variety of cuisines. Our musical acts will be Randy Hoyet, Kiljoy, and DJ Shippy, the official DJ for the Dallas Stars.
