DISPATCH CENTER RENOVATIONS

On February 21, 2023, the City Council approved a construction contract with AUI Partners for the dispatch center's construction. However, during the construction process, several necessary additions and modifications were identified. As a result, city council approved two change orders to adjust the contractor's scope of work. This will include an expansion to the upstairs locker room to accommodate additional staff as the police department grows. The dispatch center is very close to completion.

FISD INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT

City Council approved an Interlocal Agreement with Forney ISD for dispatch services and cost-sharing. This interlocal agreement will aid FISD in its need for dispatch services to protect the safety and welfare of its students, employees, and other persons on FISD property. The agreement also aids the city in increasing the number of dispatch personnel and equipment to provide such services with FISD sharing a portion of the costs in consideration of the services provided.

RANCH ROAD EXTENSION PROJECT

City Council approved a resolution awarding a contract to DDM Construction Corp. for the construction services for the Ranch Road Extension Project. DDM Construction Corp, with a cost of $4,524,361.58, was the respondent with the highest-ranking evaluation and was determined to be the best value to meet the city’s needs. Ranch Road will be transitioned from the existing two-lane roadway to the Minor Arterial Type B (100' Right of Way) Pavement Section, including two additional lanes, a water line, drainage, a traffic signal, and landscaping improvements. This project is expected to be completed by Spring 2024. Check out the exhibit here.
