Virtual Morning Exercise (Ages 50+)

This virtual program provides a brief, intense workout incorporating cardio and strength training. Please consult your doctor before registering. Participants must contact the Senior Center at 336.883.3584 to register and receive the virtual class link. Virtual Mondays, Oct. 3 - Dec. 19, 8:30 - 9 a.m. Free Southside Senior Fitness (Ages 50+)

Our newly-renovated facility features an elliptical machine, treadmill, stationary bike, spin bikes, fitness rope, kettlebells, weights and Smith Bench press machine. Southside Fitness Center Mondays & Wednesdays Oct. 3 - Dec. 14, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Free

Beginner Level Tennis (Ages 5 - 12)

All the basic skills of tennis will be covered, enabling each player to move to the next level. Players will learn how to keep score and how to rally using foam balls and appropriate-sized equipment on a smaller court to make learning the game fun and easy! Oak Hollow Tennis Center Mondays & Wednesdays, Oct. 5 - 19, 4 - 5 p.m. $18 drop in fee Intermediate Level Tennis (Ages 7 - 16)

These players are near the competitive level and are beginning to understand the importance of more serious tennis focus and play. Emphasis on point play will be stressed, as well as proper technique and court movement. Oak Hollow Tennis Center Tuesdays & Thursdays, Oct. 4 - 20, 4 - 5 p.m. $18 drop in fee

Dog Obedience Class (Ages 18+)

Qualified instructors will teach owners and dogs basic commands and socialization skills. Dogs must be at least eight weeks old. Participants must bring their pet's shot records, a six-foot non-retractable leash, a choke collar and treats. Oakview Recreation Center Tuesdays, Oct. 4 - Dec. 13, 7 - 8 p.m. $50 per dog/session Adult Beginner/Intermediate Level Tennis (Ages 18+)

We also call this class "TNT" - Tennis in No Time - because we will get participants playing serious tennis in no time at all! Community Garden @ Morehead (Ages 18+)

Community gardens provide opportunities for people to work side by side towards improving food security, increasing fruit and vegetable intake and leading healthier lives. Participants will donate 10 percent of their harvests to food organizations. Morehead Recreation Center Monday - Sunday, Oct. 1 - Nov. 30, 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. $20 per plot
