Celebration of Lights opens November 25 in Fort Zumwalt Park

The holidays truly shine brightest at Fort Zumwalt Park, as O’Fallon’s Celebration of Lights display has blanketed the park in more than a million dazzling lights. This annual tradition attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year, and proceeds from the festivities go to support local non-profit organizations.

Seeing the lights by car is the most popular way to experience Celebration of Lights. Guests can purchase their tickets now, then redeem it on nearly any night of the event, no reservations needed. Want to experience this one-of-a-kind holiday display up close? You can also purchase tickets for the Old-Fashioned Holiday Stroll, held two nights only on December 5 and 6. Visitors will walk along the illuminated route, enjoy holiday music, visit with Santa and experience a dazzling fireworks show over Lake Whetsel.

Ready to get your tickets? Head over to www.ofallon.mo.us/col for more information, including even more specialty trips through Celebration of Lights.

Resident Privilege Account

All O’Fallon residents are eligible for resident rates on park facility rentals, programs and admissions with a Resident Privilege Account. Apply for your free Resident Privilege Account at the Renaud Center. Residents ages 16 and under must be accompanied by a resident parent or resident guardian to obtain a Resident Privilege Account. The account expires one year from the date issued.

Definition of a “resident”

“Residents” are people who live within the City of O’Fallon’s corporate limits. City limits and Post Office boundaries are not the same, so it is possible to have an O’Fallon address, yet live outside the City, or have a postal address in an adjacent municipality, yet live in O’Fallon.

Proof of residency

To obtain a Resident Privilege Account, you must present both proof of identity and proof of residency. Acceptable forms of photo ID, which must show your current City of O’Fallon address, include:

• Missouri driver’s license or identification card

• College student identification card

• Military identification card

In addition, residents need one of the following with the same address as the photo ID:

• An unpaid utility bill

• A personal check with pre-printed name and address

• A current auto or voter registration

• A current personal property tax statement

• The most recent personal income tax statement

• A current rental lease agreement

Definition of a “family” for memberships

• A “resident family” is defined as 2–5 people* living at the same address within O’Fallon city limits.

• A “non-resident family” is defined as 2–5 people* living at the same address outside of O’Fallon city limits.

• All family members must be declared when a family account is established. Inappropriate use of membership ID and/or privileges may result in termination or suspension of the membership.

*Additional individual family members (ages 3+) may be added to a Renaud Center membership at the cost of $25 for residents, $50 for non-residents.

Find the right group lessons for your child

To ensure success in the O’Fallon Swim Academy, it’s important to register children for the appropriate level. Children who have participated in the swimming program should register according to the last class successfully completed, moving to the next class or skill level when all skills from the previous level are mastered. Some classes may seem repetitive, but we want swimmers to perfect their skills in order to advance safely, not quickly. Children learn at different paces and it is common to repeat a class.

Art Exhibitions

Grant Hargate – Painting

At the O’Fallon City Hall Gallery

The vivid watercolors on display are based on artist Grant Hargate’s time in Siena, Italy. Following his experience, Grant created imaginative paintings focusing on the landscapes, buildings and sculptures of the region, before zeroing in on an abstract exploration of the remnants of Siena’s medieval walls. This gallery display showcases paintings from that period of exploration that have never been exhibited before.

Sandra Burke – Photography

At the Krekel Civic Center Gallery

Sandra Burke is an avid photographer and ceramicist who enjoys experimentation and the creation of multiple layers in her work. The photography on display is deeply rooted in her personal experiences connected to everyday observations. She has recently retired from serving as a full-time professor at Lindenwood University.

Sandra Griffin Printmaking

At the Renaud Center Gallery

Artist Sandra Griffin grew up in Webster Groves and studied printmaking at the Kansas City Art Institute. From 2004 to 2011, she worked as a full-time artist in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. Following her return to St. Louis, she began producing the incredible prints that are now on display at the Renaud Center Gallery.
