The Big House Join us for this unique hard hat tour of Missouri’s former State Penitentiary (MSP) in Jefferson City, Missouri. Built in 1936 and shuttered in 2004, the “Big House” was hailed in 1893 as one of America’s most efficient prisons for feeding inmates on 11 cents a day, and condemned in 1967 as “the bloodiest 47 acres in America.” The tour includes prison history, famous inmates and their cells and even a glimpse of the gas chambers. Next, we’ll sit down to lunch at Oscar’s Classic Diner and enjoy the music and nostalgia of the 1950s. After lunch we’ll tour Missouri’s State Capitol and, on the way home, stop for a treat at Central Dairy Ice Cream. The trip’s cost includes transportation, the prison tour, an escort, lunch and gratuities. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes; no sandals, please. The registration deadline is July 14. 130813

Just for Kids O
ur Just for Kids program offers a great way for parents and grandparents to spend quality time with young children or take a little time for themselves while their children participate in a class. Children also benefit by socializing with others in enjoyable classes that can include singing, dancing, creating art and learning new skills. Look for new classes and family favorites every quarter! Young children attending without a parent must be completely potty-trained and able to use the restroom independently. If your child is not potty-trained but would like to participate in one of our programs, please call 636-474-8111 for information on making arrangements.
Classes must meet the minimum enrollment to avoid cancellation, so please register early! If minimum enrollment is not met, then classes will be cancelled five days in advance of the program.
This six-week class encourages young children to learn, explore, ask questions and socialize as they play games, sing, make crafts, snacks and much more. Each class has a different theme. Parents are asked to remain outside the classroom to allow children to focus. Min./Max: 4/8 9:30A-11:00A 9:15A-10:45A 9:15A-10:45A

Now through June 2017! Enroll now! This great eleven-month dance program encourages students to practice and improve throughout the school year, and culminates with the Year-End Dance Recital. Class participation is crucial in preparing for the recital, so we ask that children commit to attending ALL scheduled classes through June 2017. New students will be accepted into the program at any time; however, students who joined after December 31, 2016, will not be eligible to participate in the recital held June 2017. Classes are held at the Civic Annex, 410 East Elm Street, O’Fallon, MO 63366. Regular participation in Civic Dance Studio is the best way to help students build a progressive foundation for dance as they learn and practice dance steps and master the skills they need. Enrollment options are as follows:

Tae Kwon Do This six-week Martial Arts program will focus on the traditional Korean form of Tae Kwon Do known as Chung Do Kwan. This style is based on explosive movements, devastating power and self-discipline. All students begin training at the “no belt” level. After learning the eight basics and the first form they will be invited to test for the white belt. Students will progress through a series of techniques and belts at their own pace and will NOT necessarily test each session. Because each student progresses at his or her own pace, testing will be at the discretion of the instructor. Children who would like to progress at a faster pace may register for more than one class.
If you are interested in watching one of the classes to see if it is something your child would be interested in, you may do so the last week of the session. Tyke Kwon Do • Ages 3–5 441201-A 441201-C 441201-B 441201-D

Theirs was the second-highest number of nominations for the “Arts for Life 2nd Annual Theatre Mask Awards,” with nominees, and sometimes multiple nominees, in every category for which the plays qualified. In fact, the plays are competing in two of the categories, “Set Design” and “Large Ensemble.” The winners will be announced on April 1, 2017, at the Atrium Conference Center on the Christian Hospital campus.

It’s bedtime! But Mandy, Tommy, and Abby refuse to settle down without a story...or two...or three. Dad finally gives in, but his stories are nothing like Mom’s! Was Cinderella crazy? Was Prince Charming super immature? Why was Big Bad Wolf always chasing those pigs? Snuggle up with these fun fairy tales, but watch out - there are dire consequences for those who stay up late!

June 15, 16 and 17 7:00 p.m. evening performances all three days; Saturday Matinee at 2 p.m. “Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek....” And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a shorttempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand... and his name is Shrek.

Learn to Swim
Learn to Swim O
’Fallon’s Learn to Swim program is built on teaching aquatic and safety skills in a logical progression. Our goal is to teach children and adults how to swim and be safe in and around the water. The program is composed of 11 course levels:
Aqua Learning: Preschool: Preschool Plus: Level 1: Level 2: Level 3: Level 4: Level 5: Level 6: Level:
Shrimp I and II, Pollywog Turtle Seahorse Explorer Submarine Clipper Sailor Adventurer Barracuda Adult
Aqua Learning: Parent and child participation is required. Class size is limited to eight parent-child couples. Pollywog: Class ratio is four to one instructor. Parents are required to be in the water the first four classes. Preschool – Level 3: Class ratio is six children to one instructor. Levels 4 – 6: Class ratio is eight children to one instructor. Adult: Class ratio is eight adults to one instructor. Participants will move to the next class or skill level when all skills from the previous level are mastered. Some classes may seem repetitive, but we want swimmers to perfect their skills in order to advance safely. Please keep in mind that children learn at different paces and it’s common to repeat a class.
Weekday classes at the RSC meet twice weekly for four weeks and last 35 minutes. Saturday morning sessions last 40 minutes and meet for seven weeks. Weekday classes at Alligator’s Creek meet four times a week for two weeks. Saturday morning sessions meet for 35 minutes once a week for eight weeks.
Which class is right for my child? To ensure your child’s success in the Learn to Swim program, it’s important to register children for the appropriate level. Children who have participated in the swimming program should register according to the last class successfully completed. Each child must pass a particular level before proceeding to the next.
Aqua Learning This program helps children ages 6 months to 3 years become comfortable in and around water and prepares them to learn how to swim. The class is divided into two sections: Shrimp I and Shrimp II. Please note: Classes may seem repetitive because they are introductions to water.
Shrimp I • Ages 6 – 18 months Parent-child or guardian participation in the water is required. The instructor will demonstrate techniques as parents learn how to safely guide children and help them advance at their own pace. Min./Max. 3/8
