On the first Wednesday of every month from 6–7 p.m., meet Dr. Scott Grogan, a board-certified Chiropractic Physician, by the desk in the fitness center for answers to your health and fitness-related questions. Dr. Grogan completed his full body certification in Active Release Technique in 2011, giving him a unique approach to the treatment of patients by addressing not only the joints but the surrounding soft-tissue as well. Dr. Grogan utilizes the “joint-by-joint” approach to patient care, which emphasizes the impact that the kinetic chain (ankles, knees, hips, shoulders etc.) can have on the entire body. Through functional analysis Dr. Grogan will locate the true dysfunction and source of the problem to arrive at an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. Through mobilization of the joints and by placing a heavy emphasis on soft-tissue treatment and rehabilitation, his goal is to provide fast, effective care and empower patients to take control of their own health.

Enroll now! This great eleven-month dance program encourages students to practice and improve throughout the school year, and culminates with a Year-End Dance Recital. Class participation is crucial in preparing for the recital, so we ask that children commit to attending ALL scheduled classes through June 2015. New students will be accepted into the program at any time; however, students joining after December 31, 2014, will not be eligible to participate in the recital held June 2015. Classes are held at the Civic Annex, 410 East Elm Street, O’Fallon, MO 63366. Regular participation in Civic Dance Studio is the best way to help students build a progressive foundation for dance as they learn and practice dance steps and master the skills they need. Enrollment options are as follows:

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to
speak to your child’s instructor. Civic Dance Studio also has a Competition Team. If you are interested in being on the team, please contact the instructors. Private lessons are also available. To set this up, please contact Paula at 636-474-8121 or pcreech@ofallon.mo.us.

Learn to Swim O
’Fallon’s Learn to Swim program is built on teaching aquatic and safety skills in a logical progression. Our goal is to teach children and adults how to swim and be safe in and around the water. The program is composed of 11 course levels:
Aqua Learning: Level: Preschool: Preschool Plus: Level 1: Level 2: Level 3: Level 4: Level 5: Level 6: Level:
Shrimp I and II Pollywog Turtle Seahorse Explorer Submarine Clipper Sailor Adventurer Barracuda Adult
Aqua Learning: Parent and child participation is required. Class size is limited to eight parent-child couples. Pollywog: Class ratio is four to one instructor. Parents are required to be in the water the first four classes. Preschool – Level 3: Class ratio is six children to one instructor. Levels 4 – 6: Class ratio is eight children to one instructor. Adult: Class ratio is eight adults to one instructor. Participants will move to the next class or skill level when all skills from the previous level are mastered. Some classes may seem repetitive, but we want swimmers to perfect their skills in order to advance safely. Please keep in mind that children learn at different paces and it’s common to repeat a class. Weekday classes at the RSC meet twice weekly for four weeks and last 35 minutes. Saturday morning sessions last 40 minutes and meet for seven weeks. Weekday classes at Alligator’s Creek meet four times a week for two weeks. Saturday morning sessions meet for 35 minutes once a week for eight weeks.
Which class is right for my child? To ensure your child’s success in the Learn to Swim Program, it’s important to register children for the appropriate level. Children who have participated in the swimming program should register according to the last class successfully completed. Each child must pass a particular level before proceeding to the next.
Aqua Learning This program helps children ages 6 months to 3 years become comfortable in and around water and prepares them to learn how to swim. The class is divided into two sections: Shrimp I and Shrimp II. NOTE: Classes may seem repetitive because they are introductions to water.
Shrimp I • Ages 6 – 18 months Parent-child or guardian participation in the water is required. The instructor will demonstrate techniques as parents learn how to safely guide children and help them advance at their own pace.

Don’t miss this trip to picturesque Arrow Rock, Missouri! Once a thriving river town, Arrow Rock’s brick and limestone architecture dates from the 1830s, and the entire town is listed as a National Historic Landmark. On our tour, we’ll see the charming house where Missouri artist George Caleb Bingham lived, the J. Huston Tavern (circa 1834) where we will sit down to a tasty, all-you-can-eat-fried-chicken lunch. Next up is Arrow Rock’s unique Lyceum Theater for a production of Cotton Patch gospel, a joyous musical adaptation of the Gospels of Matthew and John. A gem of musical theater, the story of Jesus is set in the mid-20th-century American South, and the production considers what might have happened had Jesus been born in Georgia. The musical is presented with bluegrass and country music songs, the final and perhaps best work of Harry Chapin. Cost of the trip includes deluxe motor coach transportation, a step-on guide, Lyceum Theater tickets, lunch, admissions and gratuities. Be sure to register before the registration deadline, August 24. 40247
