Preparations for the launch of the City’s new Customer Relations Centre (CRC) are in full swing, with over 20 staff undergoing one of the most wide-ranging training exercises ever undertaken.

“Thank you to the people involved who have taken on a big challenge with great enthusiasm, and to the service units for their invaluable support in hosting the CRC team during their training.”

A day of team building including a tour of several City facilities and visiting a variety of units is just part of the process of developing a team of people who will have a broad range of knowledge across various programs and operations.

Working in a newly refurbished area, the CRC team will able to access the iKNOW System which carries up to date information on virtually every service and program offered by the City.

The new team will deal with inquiries from building, health, planning, program bookings, financial counselling, waste and rates. They will be the first point of contact and will handle in person, telephone, web, in writing (including email) and council enquiries/payments at Clarkson Library. “This is one of the most intensively trained teams the City has ever created and will revolutionise the way the City delivers customer service,” said Acting CEO Dennis Blair.

iKNOW has been developed from scratch and offers a new benchmark in local government in Western Australia for knowledge management systems.
