‘Dad Rocks’ Paperweight

How To: 1. Using the tools in the pottery tool kit, break off a large piece of clay and roll it into a ball. Mould the ball into

a flat oval shape. Think about the size of the pebbles you are using when making your oval shape. 2. Push the pebbles into the clay spelling out the words ‘Dad rocks’. 3. Sit the clay aside to dry for at least 48 hours. Rotate the clay every few hours to ensure it dries completely.

Personalised Cup Cosy

Materials:

How To:

1. Using the circumference of your mug as a guide cut a piece of felt

12cm high and long enough to wrap around the middle of your mug. 2. Fold the felt in half so it becomes 6cm high. 3. Cut a long length of yarn and thread a needle. 4. Stitch around the edge of the folded piece of felt using a blanket

stitch. For step by step instructions on blanket stitching see the Tips & Techniques activity sheet ‘How to Hand Sew’. 5. Stitch the word ‘DAD’ onto the front of the felt using a back stitch. For

Tie Bunting Decoration

your ties and re-punch the holes at the top of each tie. 2. Cut a long length of yarn and thread it through your ties, joining them

together to create a garland. 3. Using a tie as a size guide, draw letters spelling ‘DAD’ on coloured

paper. Carefully cut them out. Attach each letter to the 3 middle ties with glue. 4. Decorate your ties with buttons. Attach with glue. Lay your ties flat

while the glue is drying to ensure the buttons don’t slide down your ties. 5. Hang your tie bunting up to surprise Dad on Father’s Day!

3D Wooden Remote Holder

Father’s Day Crown

Materials:

How To:

1. Give your crown a coat of brightly coloured paint. Allow to dry.

2. Paint your crown with glitter paint to add a touch of sparkle.

• Assorted Watercolor Magic® Glitter Liquid Watercolours - 13122

3. Write a Father’s Day message on the front of your crown with a pen.

Allow to dry. e.g. ‘King for a Day!’ or ‘King Dad’. 4. Join the 2 ends of your crown together with tape. Remember Dad’s

head is bigger than your head! 5. Decorate your crown with buttons and rhinestones. Attach with glue

and allow to dry before wearing.

Personalised Ceramic Money Box

Using CleverPatch™ Junior Artist Paint:

• CleverPatch™ Ceramic & Terracotta Markers - 14578

1. Use paint to cover large areas of your money box.

• Paint Brush

2. To make Dad’s face, paint the entire money box with a skin tone

colour. Create a skin tone colour by mixing white paint with a small amount of brown. Allow to dry. 3. To make a football, paint the entire money box brown. Paint with

crosshatching brush strokes to create a textured effect. Allow to dry.

Using CleverPatch™ Ceramic & Terracotta Markers:

Use markers to draw on finer details like Dad’s glasses, moustache and eyebrows.

2.

Shake your markers well before use.

3.

Press the tip of your marker gently & repeatedly to start the ink flow. Do this on some scrap paper, you may need to repeat this step each time you use your markers to get the ink flowing!

4.

Think about what you want to draw on your money box. If you are unsure, try drawing a design on paper first, then copy onto your money box with your markers.

5.

Allow your design to dry for a minimum of 24 hours.

6.

Store ceramic & terracotta markers horizontally (flat).

7.

Always replace the cap immediately after using, even if you are just taking a short break. This will stop the ink from drying out.
