Welcome to PARADISE
AMJASA IGNORES OVERCHARGE REQUEST
In our February edition we highlighted the policy of AMJASA which denied the cheapest tariff to users of more than 10 cubic metres of water each 2 months.
We wrote on 28th February to Councillor Francisco Torres to bring the problem to his attention, and asked that he sought the approval of his Councillor colleagues to amend AMJASA invoicing software to ensure that all property owners were treated equally, suggesting the changes be introduced over a 4-year transition period, so as not to harm AMJASA financial status. Not receiving a reply - we eMailed the Help Desk and Councillor Oscar to ask what was happening - but there has still been no reply. Perhaps it was so important that It has gone to a full Plenum session - on the other hand, it might have slipped down the AMJASA plug-hole! With no reply after 3 months, we wrote to Deputy Mayor, Oscar Anton, who asked for a copy on July 20th. In the original, we pointed out the inequality of not allowing ALL consumers to buy water at the lowest price, rather than at the top price for the final cubic metre of water they used in the billing period. In times of ‘crisis’, everyone We are grateful to Jávea Tourism Councillor Toni Miragall, and his Town Hall colleagues for agreeing that the Town Hall Tourist Offices be the principal pick-up points for this Directory. understands there are financial constraints on the Town Hall band AMJASA, but we asked for nothing more than that they look to make changes, during their term of office. Everyone speaks well of Councillor Oscar Anton, but it doesn’t look as though his colleagues respect either him or the AMJASA customers. CR
WHY
WHERE HAVE WE BEEN?
We’ve not been anywhere, but took the decision earlier in the year, that since we chose not to look for revenue from adverts or sponsorship, we would only publish when there were suffient changes to the A2Z Directory, to justify the expense. There was no easy way to tell our readers, and I guess many of you assumed we’d been ‘A flash in the pan’ - not so. Welcome to Paradise will continue to publish as and when updates make it worthwhile. We are NOT a newspaper, we are a Directory and have been pleased with the comments, letters and Subscription requests we’ve Received.
Offers valid until 10 Sept. 2012
Paradise?
When looking to name this ‘A2Z Directory of Jávea’s services’ a religious title was not on my mind. I chose Paradise (rather than Jávea/Xàbia) because - 25 and more years ago holidaymakers came and bought here, because it was Paradise. Intervening years brought dirt and decline to the point where Brits were happy to describe it as Shabbier. I are proud to lead the call for our town to be Paradise resurrected!
