ノバスコシア州にはたくさんの観光名所がありますが、今回は、ローカルな雰囲気 を味わえ、のんびり過ごすのにお勧めの2カ所をご紹介します。
マダム島 とても小さな島・マダム島は、海に囲まれていてドライブに最適。 ちょっと車を止め て景色を眺めるだけでも素敵な景色に癒されます。 ドライブしながら偶然見つけて 立ち寄ったカフェ・La Goélette à Pépé。海を連想する小物や地元アーティストの作 品なども販売されていて、ディスプレイがとてもかわいい。美味しいコーヒーを飲み ながら、一休みするのにおすすめの場所です。 泊まったところはGroundswellホテル。１階にはパブがあり、テラス席で美味しいビ ールを飲みながら、のんびり過ごせます。 また、地元で取れた新鮮な食材を使った料 理が食べられます。ただ、あっという間に売り切れになるメニューも多いので、早め に注文すること必須。 カヤックやサーフィン等のレンタルサービスもあり、泊まらなく ても楽しめる場所です。
ケープブレトン島シェティキャンプ たくさんのハイキングコースやキャンプ場のあるケープブレトン島。ハイランド国立 公園(Cape Breton Island Highlands National Park)やとても綺麗なインゴニシュ・ ビーチ（Ingonish beach）などが有名。そんな中、私が一番気に入ったのが小さな街 シェティキャンプ(Chéticamp)。海沿いにあり、眺めも最高です。伝統あるラグ・フッキ ングは町のおばあちゃんたちが中心となって毛糸を使ってつくるアート。かわいいデ ザインのものから芸術的な大作まであり、お土産に最適。 ペイストリーショップ・The Aucoin Bakeryは地元の人にも人気で、立ち寄った時に は行列ができていました。Home Style Donutsは昔懐かしの味。Home Style Tea Biscuitはスープと一緒にいただくのがおすすめ。その他、パイやマフィン、パンなど 種類も豊富です。 今回は立ち寄っただけだったので、次回は長期滞在して、のんびり海と山を満喫し たい地区の一つです。

De nombreux sites touristiques sont présents en Nouvelle-Écosse, mais pour ce voyage j’ai souhaité m’imprégner de l’ambiance locale et prendre mon temps pour ne vous présenter que deux lieux.
There are many tourist sights in Nova Scotia, but for this trip I wanted to present two places to soak up the local atmosphere.

Isle Madame
L’Isle Madame est une petite île parfaite pour une découverte en auto, car il suffit de s’arrêter un instant pour profiter du paysage et instantanément se sentir bien. Je conduisais quand je suis tombée par hasard sur un petit café, La Goélette à Pépé. On y vend de petits objets artisanaux issus de la mer et des œuvres d’artistes locaux, ce qui donne au lieu une atmosphère très agréable. C’est l’endroit rêvé pour faire une pause en dégustant un excellent café.
Isle Madame is a small island, that is perfect to discover by car. If you stop to enjoy the scenery, you will be entranced by its beauty. While driving we stumbled upon a little café, La Goélette à Pépé. They sell small items from the sea and works created by local artists, which gives the place delightful atmosphere. It was a perfect place to have a break while enjoying a tasty coffee.
Je me suis ensuite arrêtée à l’hôtel Groundswell qui dispose d’un bar au premier étage, permettant ainsi de se détendre une bière à la main. On peut aussi y savourer des plats à base de poisson fraîchement pêché dans les environs. Le nombre de plats étant limité, je vous conseille de commander rapidement pour être sûrs de pouvoir en profiter! Un service de location de kayaks, de planches de surf et d’autre matériel est proposé à tous, sans obligation de passer la nuit à l’hôtel.
Chéticamp, sur l’île du Cap-Breton L’île du Cap-Breton offre une multitude de pistes cyclables et de terrains de camping. Elle est particulièrement connue pour le parc national des Hautes-Terres-du-Cap-Breton et la magnifique plage d’Ingonish. Mais c’est la petite ville de Chéticamp que j’ai le plus apprécié : située sur le littoral, le paysage y est superbe. Les vieilles femmes de la ville pratiquent la tapisserie au crochet. Vous pouvez choisir le souvenir parfait parmi leurs créations puisqu’elles fabriquent de jolis petits éléments comme de véritables œuvres d’art de grande taille! La pâtisserie The Aucoin Bakery est bien connue des locaux qui n’hésitent pas à y faire la queue. Leurs beignes maison (Home Style Donuts) vous rappelleront celles de votre enfance et nous conseillons de déguster leurs biscuits maison (Home Style Tea Biscuit) avec une bonne soupe. On y trouve également toutes sortes de tartes, muffins et pains.
Our accommodation was the Groundswell hotel, which had a bar on the first floor, allowing you to relax with a beer on the terrace. You can also enjoy dishes made with freshly caught fish from the surroundings. The number of dishes on the menu are limited, so I advise you to order them ahead of time. A kayak, surfboard and other equipment rental service is available to all, without obligation to stay at the hotel.
Chéticamp, on Cape Breton Island There are many hiking trails and campgrounds on Cape Breton Island. It is well known for the Cape Breton Island Highlands National Park and the beautiful Ingonish beach amongst others. However, my favourite place there is the small town of Chéticamp. Located on the coast, the landscape and views are amazing. The old women of the town practice crocheted tapestry made from wool yarn. You can choose the perfect souvenir from their creations, with their beautiful designs and large scale. The Aucoin Bakery is popular with the locals who do not hesitate to stand in line. Their Home Style Donuts, will remind you of those of your childhood. I also recommend you to try their Home Style Tea Biscuits, with a good soup. There are also all kinds of tarts, muffins and breads. This time we just stopped by, but I intend to go back and stay longer to enjoy the sea and the mountains.

Ringu est un film d’horreur japonais sorti en 1998. Il est important à l’industrie de film du Japon. Son directeur est Hideo Nakata. Ringu l’a rendu célèbre. Après la sortie du film, Hideo Nakata a réalisé d’autres films, incluant « Ringu 2 » et « Dark Water ». Aujourd’hui, Ringu est considéré un des films d’horreur les plus populaires. À cause de sa popularité internationale, au moins 5 versions étrangères ont été faites. Dans ce billet, nous allons vous parler brièvement de l’histoire et de nos impressions. Entre les étudiants d’école secondaire, une rumeur circulait à propos d’une étrange cassette vidéo. Il a été dit que quiconque regardait la cassette vidéo recevrait un appel téléphonique et mourrait dans la prochaine semaine. Reiko, une journaliste, a été informé de l’existence de cette mystérieuse cassette vidéo durant son enquête sur la mort de sa nièce. À l’enterrement, Reiko a entendu que sa nièce Tomoko et ses amis sont morts après le visionnement d’une cassette durant leur voyage à Izu. Reiko a remarqué que les photos de Tomoko et ses amis étaient complètement distorsionnées. Afin de découvrir la vérité, Reiko est allée à Izu seule pour chercher la cabine où Tomoko est resté durant son voyage. Là, Reiko a regardé la cassette étrange. Surpris par la malédiction, Reiko a appelé son ex-mari Ryuji à son retour à Tokyo. Ryuji a aussi décidé de regarder la cassette. Afin desauver leur vie, Reiko et Ryuji ont décidé de percer le mystère de la cassette ensemble. Durant leur enquête, Ryuji a entendu une voix humaine qui répétait un ancien proverbe qui les guida vers l’île Izu Oshima. Malheureusement, le fils de Ryuji et Reiko, Yoichi, a aussi regardé la cassette quand il a entendu les voix de l’esprit de Tomoko. Afin de lever la malédiction de leur fils, Reiko et Ryuji n’ont aucun autre choix que de visiter l’île Izu Ooshima.

「リング」は日本のホラー映画で、１９９８年に公開されました。日本のホラ ー映画界でとても重要な映画です。監督の中田秀夫は「リング」でとても有名 になりました。その後、中田監督は「リング２」や、 「仄暗い水の底から」を作り ましたが、今でも彼の一番有名な作品は「リング」 です。 「リング」は海外でもと ても有名なので、 リメイク作品が５つもあります。今回は「リング」のあらすじ と私達の感想を紹介します。 [あらすじ] 高校生の間で、呪いのビデオの噂がありました。そのビデオを見た人は、無 言電話を受け取り、その一週間後に死ぬのです。新聞記者の玲子は、 この謎 を調べている時、 自分の姪・友子の死を知ります。そして、友子の葬式で、友子 と友子の友達は、伊豆に遊びに行った時、変なビデオを見た後で死んだと聞 きます。また、友子と友達の顔が写真上不気味に歪んでいることに気付きま す。真実を知るために、玲子は一人で伊豆に行って、友子たちが泊まったキャ ビンを探します。そこで、玲子はそのビデオを見てしまいます。東京に帰った 後で、玲子は呪いを恐れて、自分の元夫の高山竜司に相談を持ちかけます。 竜司もビデオの内容を確認し、自分達が死なないように、ビデオの秘密を調 べることにしました。竜司はビデオの中で人の声が聞こえ、 それが伊豆大島の ことわざを繰り返しているのだと気が付きました。 しかし、ある時、竜司と玲子 の息子の陽一は友子の霊の声に導かれ、呪いのビデオを見てしまいます。自 分たちの子供にかけられた呪いを解くため、伊豆大島に向かいます。 [感想] 西洋のホラー映画は大抵分かりやすくて、流血シーンがたくさんあります。 し かし、 「リング」には精巧な内面描写や人間の本質、世情などが表現されてい ます。登場人物の行動は、我が儘、責任、背信、好奇心、愛や復讐から来ていま す。例えば、玲子と竜司は陽一を愛しているから、陽一の命を救いたくてビデ オの情報を探したり、井戸の底に行ったりして、救うための全ての手段を試み ます。それは親の愛と責任です。そして、陽一の命を救うために、玲子は利己 的に自分の父親にビデオを送ります。それは玲子の我が儘と祖父の孫への愛 です。 また、 この映画は世論が一人の人間を壊せることを表しています。ある 一人の人の話がこの社会現象と一緒に表現されているので、 「リング」は他の 映画よりいいホラー映画だと思います。
Les films d’horreur occidentaux sont généralement simples, et le carnage et la violence graphique y figurent souvent. Cependant, Ringu offre une représentation plus subtile des changements psychologiques des personnages, ainsi que de l’égoïste nature humaine en société. Égoïsme, responsabilité, trahison, curiosité, amour, et revanche sont réfléchis dans les personnages. Par exemple, par amour pour leur fils Yoichi, Reiko et Ryuji ont tout fait durant leur investigation de la cassette maudite, au risque de mettre leur vie en danger. Ceci est l’amour et la responsabilité d’être un parent. De l’autre côté, Reiko préfèrerait sacrificier son père pour sauver la vie de son fils, ce qui a démontré l’égoïsme de Reiko, ainsi que l’amour altruiste du grand-père envers son petit-fils. Ce film a aussi révélé comment l’opinion publique peut détruire une personne. Nous pensons que Ringu est supérieur aux autres films d’horreur parce qu’il dévoile les tragédies des individus comme un phénomène sociale.

Ringu is a Japanese horror movie released in 1998. It is very important in Japan’s film industry. Its director was Hideo Nakata. Ringu made him very popular. After its release, Hideo Nakata would go on to make other films, including Ringu 2 and Dark Water. Today, Ringu is considered Japan’s most famous horror movie. Because of its popularity abroad, over 5 foreign versions have been made. We will talk about story briefly and our thoughts about Ringu in this post. There were rumors about a strange video tape among high school students. It was said that people who had watched the tape would receive a phone call and be cursed to die within a week. Reiko, a reporter, was told about the mystery surrounding this tape when investigating her niece’s death.. At the funeral, Reiko heard that her niece, Tomoko, and friends died after watching a tape during their trip to Izu. Reiko notices that the photos of Tomoko and her friends were all twisted. In order to know the truth, Reiko went to Izu alone to look for the cabin that Tomoko had stayed in on her trip. There, Reiko watched the strange tape. Startled by the curse, Reiko called her ex-husband Ryuji over when she returned to Tokyo. Ryuji also chose to watch the tape. In order to save their own lives, Reiko and Ryuji decided to crack the mystery
behind this strange video tape together. During their investigation, Ryuji noticed a human voice repeating a saying that originated in Izu Oshima Island. This clue led them to suspect that the curse on the tape is related to this island. Unfortunately, Ryuji and Reiko’s son, Yoichi, also watched the cursed tape when he heard the voice of Tomoko’s spirit telling him to do so. To lift the curse from their son, Reiko and Ryuji had no choice but to visit Izu Ooshima Island. Western horror movies are usually straightforward, and bloodshed and graphic violence are commonly used. However, Ringu has a more delicate depiction of characters’ psychological changes and society’s selfish human nature. Selfishness, responsibility, betrayal, curiosity, love and revenge are reflected in the characters. For example, Reiko and Ryuji tried all means to investigate the cursed tape and save Yoichi regardless of their own lives. This is the love and responsibility of being parents. On the other hand, Reiko would rather sacrifice her own father to save her son, which showed Reiko’s selfishness and grandfather’s selfless love to his grandson. Also, this movie reveals how the public opinion can destroy a person. I think Ringu is a better horror movie than others because it presents an individual’s tragedy as a social phenomenon.

よく使われているのは、低用量の二種類のホルモン、卵胞ホ ルモン（エストロゲン） と黄体ホルモン（プロゲスチン）、を含 んだもので主に排卵を抑えることにより避妊を確立します。使 用方法はAlesseやYasmineなどの経口低用量ピル、Evra避妊 パッチ、Nuvaring避妊リング、MirenaやJaydessなどの子宮内 避妊器具と様々です。 適切に使用すれば、 どれも高い避妊効果が得られます。使用 により、生理が軽くなり周期も安定し、月経困難症にも効果が あります。 また、長期的にはニキビなどが軽減されるという利 点もあります。ただし使用始めは、頭痛、乳房の張りなどがおこ ったり、ホルモンが安定するまでの最初の数ヶ月に少量の不 定期出血があることもあります。時々話題になる血栓症のリス クは皆無ではありませんが、若く健康な女性においては極め て低いです。
ある種の疾患や薬の服用のためエストロゲンを含む避妊薬 を使用できない方は、 プロゲスチン単独のものが使用できま す。Micronorは１日１回服用のプロゲスチン経口避妊薬で す。母乳の量に影響を与えないので、授乳中の方にもおすす めです。エストロゲン入りとは異なり、休薬期間はなく毎日飲 み続けます。また服用時間厳守で、３時間以上遅れると避妊 効果が低下するので、注意が必要です。生理は不規則になっ たり、回数が少なくなることが多いようです。プロゲスチン注 射剤のDepo-Proveraは、一回の注射で効果が３ヶ月間持続し ますので、飲み忘れしやすい人には向いているかもしれませ ん。 しかし、注射をやめた後も妊娠するまでに時間がかかるこ とが多いので、近いうちに妊娠を考えている方にはお薦めで きません。また、一時的な骨密度の低下が報告されているの で、注射をされている間は十分量のカルシウムとビタミンDを 摂取してください。Depo-Proveraも不規則な生理を起こしま すが、生理自体は軽くなり、また止まることも多々あります。1 年使用を続けると、約半数の方の生理は止まります。 長期の避妊をお望みの方にはFlexi-T、Nova-Tなどの銅製の 子宮内避妊器具も存在します。 こちらも医師により挿入しても らいます。有効期間は種類と患者の年齢によりますが、5年か ら10年くらいが一般的です。銅製の子宮内避妊器具は州政府 の薬保険適応ではありません。 避妊方法について、 さらに詳しい情報をご希望の方は、かかり つけの薬局の薬剤師にお尋ねください。
Français Au Canada, la contraception a été légalisée en 1969. Aujourd’hui, diverses méthodes contraceptives sont disponibles. Voici une liste de méthodes très efficaces qui requièrent une ordonnance. Elles sont variées, ainsi vous pouvez choisir celle qui vous convient. La méthode la plus utilisée est une contraception hormonale combinée qui contient de faibles doses d’estrogène et d’un progestatif. Elle prévient la conception principalement en bloquant la libération d’ovules par les ovaires. Elle existe sous différentes formes : pilule contraceptive comme AlesseMD ou Yasmine MD, timbre contraceptif Evra MD, anneau contraceptif Nuvaring MD, stérilet hormonal (contraceptif intra-utérin) tel que Mirena MD et Jaydess MD.
La pilule contraceptive doit être prise régulièrement, une fois par jour. Une boite contient 21 comprimés actifs (et 7 jours sans pilules) ou 28 comprimés dont 21 actifs plus 7 comprimés de placebo. Il existe également un format pour 84 jours, comme SeasonaleMD. EvraMD est un timbre qui s’applique directement sur la peau. On en change chaque semaine, à jour fixe, pendant trois semaines consécutives, suivant un cycle de trois semaines puis une semaine de repos. NuvaRingMD est un anneau vaginal facile à insérer. Il est laissé en place pendant trois semaines sans interruption suivies d’une quatrième semaine sans anneau (cycle de quatre semaines). Quant au stérilet hormonal, il est nécessaire de consulter un médecin pour le poser. Sa durée de vie est de 5 ans pour le MirenaMD et 3 ans pour le JaydessMD. Il peut causer des saignements menstruels irréguliers ou imprévus mais la menstruation devient plus légère ou cesse. Environ 20% des femmes observent l’arrêt des menstruations après un an d’utilisation. Le stérilet hormonal peut être retiré par un médecin à n’importe quel moment et il n'entraîne pas de stérilité par la suite. Les femmes qui ne peuvent pas utiliser un contraceptif hormonal combiné à cause de certaines maladies ou de la prise de médicaments peuvent utiliser un contraceptif de progestatif seul. Micronor MD est un contraceptif oral constitué de progestatif seul qui doit être pris tous les jours. Il est aussi recommandé pour celles qui allaitent car il ne diminue pas la production de lait maternel. Contrairement aux pilules hormonales combinées, il doit être pris tous les jours, sans période d’arrêt. Il est important de le prendre à la même heure tous les jours, car une variation de plus de trois heures nuit de façon importante à son efficacité contraceptive. Il peut causer des saignements menstruels irréguliers ou imprévus. Depo-Provera MD est un progestatif sous forme injectable. Une fois injecté, son effet dure trois mois. Il peut convenir aux femmes qui ont tendance à oublier de prendre une pilule quotidienne. Toutefois, étant donné qu'il faut souvent un peu de temps pour un retour à la fertilité après la dernière injection, il n’est pas recommandé pour celles qui souhaitent devenir enceintes dans un proche avenir. En outre, étant donné que des cas de diminution temporaire de la densité osseuse ont été rapportés, on recommande la prise de calcium et de vitamine D durant le traitement. DepoProvera MD peut causer aussi des saignements menstruels irréguliers ou imprévus et la diminution ou la disparition des règles. Plus de la moitié des femmes observent l’arrêt des menstruations après un an d’utilisation. Le stérilet de cuivre, comme Flexi-T MD ou Nova-T MD, convient aux personnes qui désirent une contraception de longue durée. Il est nécessaire de consulter un médecin pour le poser. La durée de vie d’un stérilet de cuivre est de 5 ans à 10 ans selon le modèle et l’âge de la patiente. Il peut être retiré par un médecin à n’importe quel moment. Le stérilet de cuivre n’est pas couvert par le régime public d’assurance médicament du Québec. Pour de plus amples informations sur la contraception, n’hésitez pas à demander à votre pharmacien.
English In Canada, contraception was legalized in 1969. Today many different birth control methods are available. Described below is a list of highly effective methods that require a prescription. They are diverse, allowing individuals to choose the one which best suits them. The most commonly used method is a combined hormonal contraceptive that contains low doses of estrogen and a progestin. It prevents conception mainly by blocking the release of eggs from the ovaries. This method is found in various forms: birth control pills such as Alesse® or Yasmine®, the Evra® contraceptive patch, the Nuvaring® contraceptive ring, and hormonal intra-uterine devices (IUD) such as Mirena® and Jaydess®. Utilized properly, these products are very effective and can offer other benefits as well. In most cases, menstruation becomes more regular, less abundant, and less painful than before. In addition, there are long-term beneficial effects on acne. However, some may experience headaches or breast tenderness when starting to use a hormonal contraceptive. There may also be some irregular or unexpected bleeding for two to three months, until hormone levels become stabilized. There have been some media reports about the potential risk of thrombosis associated with hormonal contraception, but this risk is very low among young women in good health. The contraceptive pill should be taken once daily. One box can contain 21 active tablets (followed by a 7-day period without pills) or 28 tablets, including 21 active pills plus 7 placebo tablets. There is also a format for 84 days, such as Seasonale®. Evra® is a patch that is applied directly to the skin. The patch should be replaced every week, on the same day of the week, for 3 consecutive weeks in accordance with the 4-week cycle: 3 weeks on and 1 week patch-free. NuvaRing® is an easy-to-insert vaginal ring. It is left in place for 3 weeks without interruption, followed by a fourth week without the ring (4-week cycle). As for the hormonal IUD, it is necessary to consult a doctor to place it. Mirena® is effective for 5 years and Jaydess® for 3 years. The hormonal IUD can cause irregular or unexpected menstrual bleeding, and menstruation becomes lighter or stops. About 20% of women using a hormonal IUD experience the cessation of menstruation after one year. The hormonal IUD can be removed by a doctor at any time and it has no effect on future fertility, which returns promptly after removal. Women who cannot use a combined hormonal contraceptive due to certain diseases or medications, may use a progestin-only contraceptive. Micronor® is an oral progestin-only contraceptive that is taken once daily. It is also recommended for women who are breastfeeding as it does not reduce breast milk production. Unlike combined hormonal pills, Micronor® has no placebo pills and must be taken continuously without interruption. It is important to take it at the same time every day, as a variation of more than 3 hours significantly impairs its contraceptive efficacy. It can cause irregular or unexpected menstrual bleeding.

Eh oui, le restaurant que je vous fais découvrir ce mois-ci, ce n’est nul autre que Le Diplomate!
The great 18th- and 19th-century diplomat Charles Maurice de Talleyrand once said, “Undoubtedly, the greatest assistant a diplomat has is his chef.” With that in mind, did you know that one of the finest “diplomats” in Montreal happened to be its own greatest assistant? In this month’s issue, we’d like to introduce you to such a wonder: the restaurant Le Diplomate.
Caché dans le Mile-End, Le Diplomate demeure un secret bien gardé. À l’intérieur, une cuisine ouverte dont le mur du fond est tapissé d’un carrelage bleu. Assis sur un banc de bois au bar, on peut apprécier chacune des minutieuses actions des cuisiniers. Au fond du restaurant, une pièce accueillant une table que l’on peut réserver. Le décor est signé Architecture Synthèse.
Le Diplomate has an intimate location tucked away in the Mile End area. With its open kitchen set against a blue-tiled wall, you’ll be able to enjoy every move and gesture of the chefs once you’ve taken up a perch on one of the counter’s wooden stools. There is also a private room further in, perfect to rent out for a party. Design for the restaurant was done by Architecture Synthèse.
Le chef, Aaron Languille, a notamment parfait son art chez Le Filet, au Club Chasse et Pêche, puis chez Sardine avant d’ouvrir Le Diplomate. Ce qui fait le talent du chef Aaron pour la « diplomatie », c’est d’abord et avant tout sa maîtrise de l’effet de « surprise ». C’est que, peu importe le plat, il agence toujours les produits dans l’assiette de manière inattendue. Et comme c’est toujours splendide, il enchante immanquablement les clients qui passent à sa table. Autour de la margose (« concombre amer »), l’arachide, l’ail et le cacao s’avèrent créer une harmonie plus qu’intéressante. Étreinte d’aubergine et de feuille de moutarde; à ce couple, le sésame apporte son accent opportun. L’albacore (« thon jaune »), quant à lui, a pour frais partenaire le chrysanthème couronné. Les arômes du pain maison sont simplement envoûtants. La majorité des vins offerts, d’ailleurs en importation privée, sont biologiques ou naturels. Et en dégustant divers vins au verre avec différents plats, la délicieuse surprise dans l’assiette s’en trouve naturellement augmentée. Et la surprise se poursuit jusqu’au dessert. À l’orange et aux pistaches, l’on adjoint le sapin; résultat : un agencement au visuel éclatant et au goût rehaussé par la fraîcheur du conifère. Et puis, étonnamment, la plaquemine (« kaki ») séchée accompagne à merveille le mille-feuille de panais.
Late of restaurants like Le Filet, Club Chasse et Pêche, and Sardine, Chef Aaron Langille made his debut with the opening of Le Diplomate. The diplomatic prowess of Chef Languille can be expressed in one word: “surprise.” The combinations and arrangements of the dishes presented here will defy all your expectations. Each and every one does an incredible job of delighting guests at Le Diplomate. The bitter melon strikes a fascinating harmony with peanuts, garlic, and cocoa. The eggplant is tenderly paired with mustard greens and beautifully accented by sesame. Their albacore tuna comes partnered with fresh chrysanthemum greens. The fragrant flavours of the restaurant’s homemade bread truly shine. The majority of the private import wines here are organic or natural. Enjoy a glass or two of the variety on offer and let their wine enhance the surprise and deliciousness of the dishes. Even the desserts are sure to keep you surprised. Orange and pistachio come together with fir for a dish with a vibrant, vivid appearance that’s filled with the fresh flavour of fir. The parsnip mille-feuille goes surprisingly well with the dried Japanese persimmon. Even the great Talleyrand himself would smack his lips over the marvellous gustatory diplomacy on display at Le Diplomate. Set out for dinner here and make tonight a night of surprise and joy. この度、2017年5月号をもって 「ココ☆モントリオール」は 終刊いたします。突然の報告になり驚かれた方も多いかと 思いますが、長い間検討してきた結果、終刊する運びとな りました。
Nous vous annonçons qu’avec cette édition de Mai 2017, Coco Montreal marque le point final de l’histoire de sa publication. Nous vous remercions de votre compréhension malgré cet annonce à l’improviste. C’est après un longue réflexion que nous en sommes arrivés à cette décision.
With the 2017 May issue, the journey that Coco Montreal began in 2006 will come to an end. We realize this must be a sudden announcement for many of you. It has taken us quite a bit of time and long periods of consideration to come to this difficult decision.
ココ☆モントリオールは、 「モントリオールをもっと楽しむ ために、みんなで情報を共有できる情報誌を作ろう」 という アイディアに賛同したスタッフが５人集まり、2006年5月よ り発行してきました。何もかも手探り状態で始めましたが、 広告主の皆様やボランティアスタッフの方々のご協力のも と、少しずつ成長していくことができました。
Coco Montréal a débuté en mai 2006 comme journal mensuel gratuit et a été créé par cinq personnes motivés à ‘créer un magazine qui permet de partager, avec tous les lecteurs, des informations qui nous fait découvrir la vie montréalaise’. Avec l’appui et le soutien de ses lecteurs, ses bénévoles et ses commanditaires, Coco Montréal a progressé petit à petit.
Coco Montreal came to life in May 2006 with the idea to “make life in Montreal more enjoyable by enabling people to share information with each other”. Initially a team of five, we started on our way, exploring the endless possibilities of the city. Thanks to the support of sponsors and volunteers, Coco Montreal began to grow steadily.
当初はモントリオールで暮らす日本人のための雑誌でした が、 日本文化や日本語に興味のある方も多いと知り、3カ国 語での発行に移行していきました。少しでも日本とカナダ を繋ぐ架け橋になれるよう心がけて発行を続けた結果、 日 本人以外の読者も増えました。他言語での発行は、時間も 労力もかかり、記者、翻訳者、校正者などボランティアの方 々の助けなしでは、 ここまで発展することはできませんでし た。心より感謝致しております。今後は若い世代の方々が新 しい風を吹き込んでくれることと思いますので、陰ながら応 援させていただきたいと思います。
Dans un premier temps, le magazine était d’abord destiné aux Japonais habitant à Montréal. Cependant, avec le temps, grâce à l’intérêt des Montréalais pour la culture et la langue japonaise, la publication est progressivement devenu trilingue. Ayant le désir de devenir une passerelle entre le Canada et le Japon, nous sommes aujourd’hui heureux d’avoir pu compter sur l’augmentation de notre lectorat en devenant une publication trilingue. La publication en trois langues n’a pas toujours été facile; cela prenait plus de temps et de travail. Le journal ne serait jamais devenu ce qu’il est maintenant sans l’apport des auteurs, traducteurs, et correcteurs qui nous ont aidé bénévolement. L’aventure de Coco Montréal tire à sa fin mais nous sommes convaincu qu’une nouvelle génération prendra la relève dans une nouvelle publication pour insuffler un vent nouveau à la mission que nous nous étions donné. Nous serons là pour offfrir notre soutien.
Although Coco Montreal was initially meant for a Japanese audience living in Montreal, it became trilingual thanks to the interest and passion of many for Japanese culture and language. Wishing for this newspaper to act as a bridge between Canada and Japan, we were delighted to see the number of non-Japanese readers increase as a result of issuing in three languages. Trilingual issuing is a time-consuming and labor-intensive task, and we never could have achieved the results we have if it weren’t for the help from volunteer writers, translators, and proofreaders. We would therefore like to thank our volunteers from the bottom of our heart. We are confident that the younger generation will blow a new wind into future journal publishing, and we will always be here to offer our support.
