Summer Mania 2014 The Brain Club is proud to offer Summer Mania 2014—a fun-filled, educationoriented summer camp for boys and girls ages 8-13 years. Kids will enjoy five days (20 hours) of educational activities learning new things while having a blast! Forensics Lab a la CSI Campers take part in CSI-style forensic examinations in this hands-on look at crime scenes. Identify and collect evidence from fingerprints to tracks to trash! Flag Football TECH Camp Flag football for elementary-aged players. It’s a combination of a QB skills clinic and a traditional flag football program. In this interactive course, kids learn to create digital art using iPad technology. They’ll learn how digital art is used in movies, magazines, comics, video games, and more—and create their own art to take home. Digital art using interactive apps and games will also be explored. Excellent activity-based course to enhance language arts skills in elementary-level children. This course uses a combination of elements to augment a child’s ability in reading, writing, storytelling, and creativity. Gentle Stretch Yoga* This class, practiced to soothing music, combines Level 1 poses, breath work, and meditation. It is geared toward students who wish to move at a slower pace, as well as those that desire a more gentle practice between their vigorous activities. Props are used for gentle relaxation and deepening the restorative benefits of the poses.

Yoga for Active Adults* Each month, the class begins by learning the basic alignment of selected poses, breath work, and meditation. As the class progresses, new poses are added, creating a flow using these poses and synchronizing them with proper breathing. Each class utilizes warm-up poses to allow deeper stretching and cool-down poses to release the muscles and allow for complete relaxation. No experience necessary. The class is designed to provide options for all levels.

Restorative, Yin & Yoga Nidra* Restore, gently stretch, and release those tight, tense muscles followed by the most relaxing restorative practice ever, “Yoga Nidra�! Restorative and Yin yoga allows us to linger in passive poses with lots of comfort-enhancing props to facilitate relaxation in body and mind, melting into each pose and allowing stress to release completely, giving the body a place to release, restore, and heal. Followed by Yoga Nidra, a powerful systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. One hour of Yoga Nidra is as restful as four hours of good sleep.

Colleyville public library Summer 2014 Paws to Read Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Party Public Library Thu., June 5, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Follow the paw tracks to the official kick-off party for the “Paws to Read!” Summer Reading Program. Rocket the Reading Dog will lead the way to open Rocket’s Boutique “Barkery” prize room, where kids 12 and under can register to earn prizes for the books they read and listen to this summer. What are the prizes for children, teens, and adults? For children, the first prize is a summer reading t-shirt and goodie bag, plus an entry form for the grand prize drawing. Subsequent reading rewards are a prize from Rocket’s Boutique Barkery prize room, plus an additional entry form for the grand prize drawing. For teens and adults, complete a prize entry form for each book or program. Weekly drawings will be held in the teen and adult categories. Participants that have entered five forms will receive a t-shirt and be eligible for the grand prize drawing.
