The program is open to children ages 0-12 years.

How does it work?

Starting on Monday, January 21, children can begin tracking the number of books they check out and receive a robot to add to the Geared-up Reader Wall. • All materials must be checked out from the Colleyville Public Library. • Books must be kept at least one night.

Keep track of check outs with the punch card attached to the bag received at registration. Punches are received at the circulation counter.

Who may enter?

Reading will be counted by book titles. • 5 books = 1 robot to add to the Geared-up Reader Wall and an entry into the Grand Prize Drawing! • Children who check out books once a week for 10 out of the 12 week session will receive a cool prize.

Whizz on over to the library for the Winter Reading Club beginning January 21. Sign up at the Youth Services desk and receive your punch card and book bag. The club runs for 12 weeks, ending Saturday, April 13.

REGISTRATION OPENS FOR STORY TIMES AND PROGRAMS Enjoy stories, crafts and fun activities at the library during story time. Registration is open to all library card holders. Space is limited, so register early. Preference will be given to Story times and programs are available for newborns through grade 5 and last for twelve weeks. Chess Club is open to ages 8-15. “ROCKET” READERS

This unstructured library time features a play area and music for our youngest library patrons and their caregivers. Caregiver attendance is required.

Reading is vital for children to succeed in school and in life, but many of them struggle with reading. What better listener than a friendly, nonjudgmental dog from the Heart of Texas Therapy Dogs program? These programs are growing in libraries across the country and researchers report a rise in reading levels among participating children. Independent readers (grades 1-5) can bring a favorite book from home or choose
