CO L L E Y V I L L E F I R E D E PA R TM E N T The Colleyville Fire Department is a full service all hazards Fire and EMS organization of 41 full-time employees that consistently strives to provide the most effective and efficient life safety and customer services possible. The department operates in a team environment to provide emergency medical services, fire suppression and rescue operations, as well as emergency management operations and non-emergency community activities. The Colleyville Fire Department provides the citizens and visitors with the highest level of professional services through measured response times, positive intervention, accessibility, and education. It is the expectation of the Colleyville Fire Department to be a well-trained, well-equipped, properly staffed emergency services organization that is recognized for providing outstanding customer service. P O S I T I O N OV E RV I E W The City of Colleyville is hiring for a Fire Chief to assume command of an organization with a tradition of providing excellent service. Serving as a member of the Leadership Team, the Fire Chief will plan, direct, manage, and oversee the activities and operations of the Fire Department. This includes, but is not limited to, formulation of policies and procedures, staff development, budgeting, and advising City Administration regarding protection of life and property of citizens.

I D E A L C A N D I DAT E The City of Colleyville is seeking an innovative and experienced leader for the position of Fire Chief. City management is looking for a candidate that is willing to make decisions quickly and not be constrained by traditional approaches to staffing or operations. The ideal candidate should have extensive fire suppression and prevention experience, including multiple years of management and supervisory experience. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to maximize efficiencies within available resources and work successfully with residents, local businesses, and other regional agencies to further the goals of the department and the City. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be an individual who has the ability to: • Supervise, direct, and evaluate personnel; monitor and assess employee performance; prepare employee performance reviews • Evaluate operational effectiveness; recommend and implement process improvements; optimize resources while overseeing the department budget • Direct activity of the department including overseeing the development of policies, procedures, program services, goals, and objectives • Ensure department compliance with applicable laws, codes, regulations, and standards • Provide long range planning, development, and implementation of programs and services


JOIN OUR TEAM The Fire Chief must hold a Bachelor’s Degree supplemented by seven years of fire or EMS management experience, including two years of leadership experience. The position requires a State of Texas Driver’s License as well as a State of Texas Basic EMT Certification. Additional certifications include Master Firefighter, Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor II, and Fire Inspector through the Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP). No internal candidates are currently in the interview process.
