Summer Reading Rules Who may enter? The Summer Reading Program is open to children, teens, and adults. Those ages 12 and under are considered to be in the children’s category; teens are ages 12-17; adults are 18 and over.

Let the fun begin...online! Colleyville Public Library is bringing the joy of summer reading to patrons virtually, with READsquared, an engaging new online platform. Readers of all ages are invited and encouraged to participate in the 2020 summer reading program, themed “Imagine Your Story!” Registration opens Monday, June 1st.

How do you register? Go to Colleyville.READsquared.com. On the bar to the right, underneath the login button, click on REGISTER NOW. Then choose a registration category. The “MYSELF” category can be used to register a single adult or child. By using “MYSELF AND CHILDREN,” an adult can conveniently register him/herself and all participating children of a household. “MY GROUP” is for the registration of daycares, camps and educational groups. Create an account for as many family members as desired. Each family member will have their own reading log. For each child aged 5-12, select whether they wish to record progress by books or minutes. Click submit to complete registration. A “Badge of Registration” will appear in each person’s account as confirmation.

SUMMER READING PROGRAM 2020 How does it work? Starting on Monday, June 1, participants can begin tracking the number of books they read or the number of minutes they read. • Register June 1 through Wednesday, July 29 • All materials must be checked out from the Colleyville Public Library. • Books must be kept at least one night. • Keep all book checkout receipts and bring them in when claiming a prize How do I count my reading? Reading can be counted by book titles or by time. • Title log (10 books) • Time log (5 hours) 1 book = 10 points 1 hour of reading = 20 points Using your chosen username and password, return to your accounts to record your book titles or minutes of reading to earn points! Alternatively, keep track of reading on your mobile device using the READsquared app, which can be downloaded with the buttons located above the login box on the Colleyville.READsquared.com homepage Click on the tabs on the left inside each account for extra fun!

What are the prizes for children? For children, the first prize for reading ten books or five hours includes: a first badge of completion which can be redeemed, in person, for a a drawstring “Imagine your Story!” sports bag with coupons from local vendors, one automatic entry into the grand prize drawing, and an online printable certificate of achievement. Subsequent reading rewards for each completed level of ten books or five hours are: an online badge that can be used to claim a prize, in person, at the Imagine Your Story Prize Station and one additional automatic entry into the grand prize drawing. There are 16 levels of reading achievement available for completion. All readers are eligible for a chance to win a weekly random surprise drawing. Prizes earned can be claimed by presenting badges and reading receipts at the Imagine Your Story Prize Station, during regular library hours. claimed, in person, by Saturday, August 1st.
What kind of reading counts for teens and adults? Read or listen to a book, e-book, or audiobook. What are the prizes for teens and adults? The Adult Summer Reading Program is designed for ages 18+ and the Teen Summer Reading Program is for ages 12 to 17. Every book you read earns 100 points. Earn 500 points to receive a prize and be eligible for our Grand Prize Drawing of a Visa gift card. Log books each week to enter our weekly prize drawings.
