Pickin’ in the Park Free Summer Concert Series

Several food vendors will be on hand, cooking up a diverse selection of locally prepared meals. In addition to our local breweries pouring micro-brews, wine and margaritas are also available. As the summer months heat up in July and August, the small towns of Ridgway and Paonia look forward to the Pickin’ in the Park Summer Concert Series, produced by Pickin’ Productions of Paonia, Colorado. In its eight year, the Pickin’ in the Park concerts have established deep roots in each respective community, where residents and visitors alike anticipate spending their Thursday evenings gathering with friends and listening to free live music by talented, nationally acclaimed artists. The music genre has evolved to cover a very eclectic and diverse range of styles, with acts playing everything from bluegrass and folk, to funk, swing, country, alt-country and jazz, as well as just about any combination of those styles that you can imagine. The music is always family friendly so the young, the elders, and everyone in between will enjoy the concerts. Each venue includes a fun children’s activities area. Expect great mountain views, fantastic music and lots of dancing!

Pickin’ in the Park kicks off Thursday, July 2, at the Rigway Town Park for the first of five nights of free music. The Ridgway Concert Series is presented by the Town of Ridgway and funded entirely by community sponsors, fundraisers and donations. The on-site alcohol and merchandise sales also help fund the series. The show begins at 6:00 pm and runs into the evening with over three hours of live music. Each night starting at 10:00 pm, after the concert in the park, the opening act will play a full show at the Sherbino Theater, just two blocks from the main stage.
