Drivers should:

• Look out for and always yield the r ight-of-way to people walking, jogging, biking, etc ;

• Pull out slowly from dr iveways and par king areas while watching for vulnerable road users, including children and others on the sidewalk or nearby pathways;

• Stop fully before tur ning at dr iveways and intersections to make sure you do not cut off pedestr ians or approaching bicyclists with r ight of way;

• Never tur n r ight immediately after passing a cyclist - wait until the cyclist has completed the tr ip through the intersection;

• Do not pass vehicles stopped at crosswalks, as they may be allowing a pedestr ian to cross the street;

• Yield to anyone crossing the street when tur ning left on a green light;

• Watch for sur pr ising changes in direction, especially by children or cyclists avoidin

William C. “Bill” NICKERSON AGE 85 - ALLEGAN, MI

Bill passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Alamo Nursing Home He was born July 31, 1937 in Newberry, the son of Paul and Edith (Puckett) Nickerson Bill starting working at a lumber mill before transferring to the automotive industry He also worked at Menasha, Southern States Feed in Kentucky and during his retirement, worked in maintenance at Denway Circle Apartments in Kalamazoo and at the McDonald’s in Allegan In his free time Bill loved playing the dulcimer He was skilled in roller skating and enjoyed skating with his wife He also liked playing cribbage, hunting, fishing and visiting with his friends Bill was a talented woodworker and could build and fix almost anything He was a deacon at the Pink Ridge Baptist Church in Kentucky

On June 15, 1957 in Flint, he married Joyce Porter who survives Also surviving are his children, Bill (Marge) Nickerson of Otsego, Terry Channells of Allegan and Kevin (Cheryl) Nickerson of Plainwell; 7 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; his first great-great-grandchild due soon and sister-in-law, Linda Porter He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Nickerson in 2019; grandson, Caleb Nickerson; his sister and 5 brothers According to his wishes cremation has taken place A memorial service was held Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the Winkel Funeral Home, Otsego, with celebrant, Bill Rose officiating Contributions in memory of Bill may be made to Alamo Nursing Home

Daniel R Agy, 78, of Otsego, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2023 at his home He was born March 9 1944 in Plainwell, the son of Ernest and Josephine (Root) Agy Dan graduated from Grand Ledge Academy and went on to serve in the United States Army Following his military service, he began working as a maintenance leadman for Parker Hannifin, retiring in 2004 He enjoyed hunting and fishing On August 21, 1965 in Martin, MI, Dan was united in marriage to Anita Morrison who survives He is also survived by three children, Karen (Dan) Rogers, Daniel (Joy) Agy, Jr , and Earl (Carol) Agy; eight grandchildren, Alec Mitchell, Kathryn Helsen, Emma Agy, Brandon Brewer, Cody Brewer, Jacob Agy, Nickolas Agy and Zackary Agy; several great grandchildren; three siblings, Kenneth (Diana) Agy, Pamela Hershberger and Kathy (Larry) Topp He was preceded in death by his parents

Terri Lynne (Schwarz) Moses, 73, wife of Steven C Moses, passed away on February 27, 2023, at home with her devoted husband by her side, after a long battle with Alzheimer's Born on July 10, 1949 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Terri was the daughter of the late Barbara Devries (Bob) McBarnes and Vern (Jenny) Schwarz Sr She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1967 She graduated in 1974, with a Bachelors of Science and Mathematics and a Minor in Chemistry, from Western Michigan University During her time at Western, she worked in the Chemistry Department as a research assistant writing Fortran programs for a faculty member She was a trailblazer for women, as she began a career at Upjohn in 1978, as the only female computer programmer in Drug Metabolism and Research She later worked for Pharmacia, then Pfizer in Physical and Analytical Chemistry as a Computer Systems Analyst In her retirement she opened a long arm quilting business: Terri’s Quiltin’ She was a board member at various times of The Log Cabin Quilters Guild and The Great Lakes Modern Quilt Guild Terri enjoyed gardening, quilting, and traveling around the country with her husband, daughters and dogs (Bernie and Max) on many memorable vacations She also spent time traveling to visit family, sewing at quilt retreats, attending the kids’ sporting events or serving those she loved, whether by lending a judgment free ear or delivering a quilt made with meticulous care Surviving, in addition to her husband of 44 years, are daughters, Margaret Dague and Elizabeth (Russ Warner) Moses; stepdaughters, Andrea (Wade) Cole and Casper Moses; three grandchildren, Dean (Ellie) Cole, Daylan Dague and Vaughn Dague; a brother, Vern (Mary) Schwarz; a sister, Michelle (David) Young; step siblings, Bob (Lisa) McBarnes Jr , Debbie (Steve) Lewis, Jimmy McBarnes, Sharon Sweezey, Warren (Kerrie) Sweezey, Vince (Sandy) Sweezey and Don Rabidoux; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends She was predeceased by a sister, Darlene (Schwarz) Liggins The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49009 A light lunch reception will follow the service Private interment will be held at a later date To view Terri’s personalized webpage please visit https://www langelands com

Meyers Sue married Dr James R Sanders on June 15, 1968 in Glen Rock, NJ Together they enjoyed nearly 55 years of marriage She is survived by her husband Jim and daughter Jamie She is preceded in death by her sister Sheila, her parents, and daughter Jennifer Sue graduated from Glen Rock, NJ High School in 1964, Bucknell University with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Phi Beta Kappa in 1968, Indiana University with a Master of Arts in Teaching in 1973, and from Western Michigan University with a Masters Degree in Computer Science Sue was a very intelligent, energetic, and loving teacher, parent, spouse, and friend She worked as a systems analyst in Denver and Boulder, CO and as a teacher /instructor at Plainwell Public Schools and Western Michigan University She loved her family and she loved her animals horses, dogs, cats, parakeets, and wild birds! Sue was an avid reader, an inspiring cook, and a passionate genealogist In her retirement, she joined her husband Jim in exploring the far reaches of Europe and North and South America, fondly describing Easter Island as “the most remote place on earth” Her relationship with her daughters was especially close as she was an avid supporter and coach of their numerous interests, which included a lot of time spent at soccer fields, horse shows, and cooking contests Burial will be held privately at Hillside Cemetery in Plainwell In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in remembrance of Sue, be made to the SPCA of SW Michigan, Canine Companions for Independence, Best Friends Animal Society, or the American Genealogical Society

“HE KNEW WHO HE WAS”

“Did you not know I that I must be about My Father’s business?”

From the time He was ver y young Jesus knew who He was There was no question about His identity as God’s Son The first record of this was when His sur pr ised parents found Him “in the t e m p l e c o u r t s, s i t t i n g a m o n g t h e t e a c h e r s, listening to them and asking them questions” (Luke 2:46) He said to them, “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” (Luke 2:49)

Conversely, God affir med Jesus as God’s Son at the time of our Lord’s baptism (Matthew 3:17)

There was also the time when Jesus appeared with His disciples in His hometown of Nazareth Teaching in the synagogue, He was handed the Book of Isaiah and read from it (Isaiah 61:1) When He was finished reading, He said, “Today this Scr ipture is fulfilled in your hear ing” (Luke 4:16-21) It is clear that Jesus saw Himself as the Messiah predicted by the prophets

Throughout our Lord’s ministr y He spoke often of His oneness with His Heavenly Father (John 10:30) Near the end of His life He prayed to God that it was time for Him to be glor ified (die) Among His last words were “Father, into Your hands I commend my spir it” (Luke 23:46)

Jesus could have never suffered and died for our sins without knowing who He was The point: Jesus knew Who He was So can we We will never discover who we are until we understand Whose we are

When we repent of our sins, Jesus promises to “ fo r g i ve o u r s i n s a n d c l e a n s e u s f r o m a l l unr ighteousness” (I John 1:9) This places us into a personal relationship with Jesus Chr ist

Queen had a difficult star t to life She was brought to the shelter by anim al control from a backyard breeding situation - she was underweight with an old injur y that left her teeth and gums exposed even when her m outh was shut Under the care at the shelter she is putting on weight and has healed nicely from surger y repair ing her lip Despite having ever y reason not to tr ust people, she loves them Q ueen is sweet, gentle, and affectionate She is calm and ver y interested in seeking attention from hum ans However, she does have a typical silly, playful husky side that comes out sometimes She has the perfect energy level: she likes walks and is ver y polite on the leash, but also enjoys spending time cur led up in a comfy bed or on big, soft blankets (ideally with a person to love on her) Queen could go almost anywhere and would make a wonderful companion She would be happy to join a family with kids and potentially other dogs She gets along with some dogs, but seems to prefer dogs that will give her space If there is a dog in the family, a m eet and greet will be scheduled to m ake sure they're a good fit! Sweet Queen would love having children to love on She would do well with kids 8 and up Queen is being cared for at the shelter, but she prefers to have a real home where she can get all the love and attention she deser ves
