Meet Patrick Bisson Patrick Bisson teaches Small Business Boot Camp for the Center for Workforce & Continuing Education and is also an adjunct instructor for the Business program at Spokane Community College. Bisson is an active entrepreneur who bootstrapped his own business into a million dollar company, and eventually sold it for profit. CWCE recently orchestrated a Youth Entrepreneur Camp as well as creative enterprise training for local artists, both programs having Bisson as the lead instructor. Small Business Boot Camp has been offered for 5 quarters and is an 8 week workshop that is designed to help participants kick start a successful small business. Gary Moulton retired from WSUâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Mount Vernon Research Station after working for decades on tree fruit management, pruning, grafting, variety selection and hard cider making. His class will focus on managing and restoring overgrown apple, pear, plum and peach trees. Pruning topics: evaluating tree structure, cutting and removing techniques, deciding which branches stay and which go, controlling water sprouts, final shaping for fruit production and annual care. Grafting topics: selecting scion wood, bench grafting, bud chip grafting, care of newly grafted trees. Each student will receive three rootstocks to graft onto and a grafting knife during the hands on portion of the workshop. Fundamentals for Banking Academy

Fundamentals for Banking Academy is a new program designed to provide participants with training in the skills needed for jobs as tellers, customer service representatives, and personal bankers. The curriculum was created in collaboration with local banks and credit unions to best meet the industry needs.

Withdrawals and refunds

Class Cancellations

If you register for a class and cannot attend, please call in advance to cancel. This makes it possible for another student to enroll. Students are responsible for initiating the paperwork for withdrawal and refund requests. A $7 processing fee is deducted from the refund amount. All refunds require at least two weeks for processing. The following policies apply whether a student attends class or not.

All class offerings are subject to change. Community Colleges of Spokane (CCS) cannot guarantee class offerings, designed times or specific instructor. CCS reserves the right to cancel any continuing education class and may reduce class hours or cancel classes due to low enrollment. Fees for classes cancelled by CCS will be refunded automatically. Some class enrollments are limited due to space and equipment.

• 100% refund for classes and workshops cancelled by the college. • 100% refund for student-initiated withdrawals three business days prior to the first day of class (including online classes) unless noted in class description. • No refund granted two business days or less prior to the start of a class. A business day is 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.
