Charity Miles Scavenger Hunt On June 25th, 2022, at Clayton Community Park on top of the hill on Regency dr. was a joint service event with the high schools Clayton Valley and Deer Valley. Those who RSVP'd to attend this event competed in a scavenger hunt with prizes for the top competitors! Not only was this a very fun event over the summer, searching with teams from the listed items to find and making friends with key club members from different schools, but this event also revolved around the “Charity Miles” app to perform community service! At Concord High Key Club, we enjoy volunteering and having a wonderful workout. Please look forward to more joint service events in the future to get acquainted with more key club members!

Summer Park Clean-Up

On June 13th, 2022, at John F. Baldwin Park the Concord High Key Club hosted a park clean-up event over the summer. At this event, the volunteers helped clean up by picking up the various trash in the surrounding area. This event lasted for roughly two hours of service but created quite the impact. To start with, despite hosting the event during the summer, we had a fantastic member turnout! Moreover, the City of Concord's Parks & Recreation Department acknowledged Concord High Key Club and a representative even spoke with Mrs. Pfaltzgraff about our service! As our very own president said, "This was a very successful event!"

As said above, the member turnout was amazing, feel free to read their experiences about this event… “It was nothing more than a simple circle around the park with trash bags and gloves, cleaning up any trash that we could find. Of course the heat made it a bit tiring, but it felt very rewarding cleaning up a public park that our community uses. We even got praise from someone who worked on the parks and rec. department of the city of concord, so that was also pretty cool! Overall, the cleanup went smoothly and was enjoyable, even if the heat made everything slightly harder in the end.” Andrew Evangelista

“Our president, Tommy, and three of the other key club members (including me) were just cleaning and picking up trash around the park! It was a fun experience, I liked it a lot. I enjoyed being a part of the event and appreciated all of the appreciation/notice from the people in the community! 10/10 experience.” Tu Ngo

“We circled around the park picking up bits and pieces of trash while making small conversation with each other too, all in all, it was a great experience!” Jon Reyes Jr

On June 26th, 2022, Division 26 North and South hosted their annual officer training conference also referred to this year as, “Ninjag-OTC.” This event was hosted at I Can Do That! Performing Arts Center in Danville from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. As the event's name implies, this is where the newly elected officers from the clubs that make up this division gather to learn more about their position from informative presentations given by more experienced Key Club members! It is highly advised to bring notetaking materials like electronics or paper and pencils during the presenting portions of the event. Just to mention, this event in particular provided lunch for all participants!

Ninjag-OTC

Although this event is focused on Key Club officers, it is still recommended that members come to join! There were other presentations on topics like “stress management” and “what is Key Club,” as well as time to network and make friends from the various clubs present. Please look forward to future divisionwide activities like this one or division council meetings (DCM) for members, especially those interested in running for office, to learn more about Key Club and get comfortable among people from clubs other than our own. This event was such an exciting and new experience! Although this was a mandatory event for officers to attend, it was honestly so much fun. I met so many editors and webmasters with similar interests as me. I was thrown out of my comfort zone, especially by socializing with new faces, but I was able to ask for their Instagrams and find their newsletters! So glad to have met those people and further impressed by their work as officers, hope to see you all soon!
