Event Recap

In Mrs. Yahya’s room (206), we had a large arrival of both familiar and new faces attend these meetings. We appreciate all those who have avidly attended our meetings this year despite our slightly shaky start. Soon Concord High Key Club will be consistently hosting official club meetings, this will be held on a weekly basis during lunch on Thursdays in Mrs. Yahya’s room. Moreover, we highly encourage those who have attended these meetings to tell your friends to join in and attend our meetings or at the very least take a peek inside! Please stay updated on both our club Remind and Instagram account for announcements and information about our meetings!

During lunch on Thursday, August 25th, was Concord High’s first “Board Meeting” of the school term. At this meeting, President Tommy Nguyen went over what Key Club is and announced upcoming club and division events to his fellow club board members. Although we typically carry out our board meetings privately, for our first couple board meetings of the year we decided to invite and welcome all to attend!

First “Board Meeting”:

Never forget Concord High Key Club Red Devils, as quoted from our President Tommy Nguyen, “We Serve.”

To have properly received your service hours, members were to have given their cards to our President Tommy Nguyen or our Vice Presidents Isha Saleem and Lizeth De La Cruz. If you don’t know where to find them, please look forward to our weekly club meetings during lunch on Thursdays!

As a brief overview of this event, members received service hours for each card they turned in; at this time, we accepted a card in exchange for fifteen minutes of service, allowing you to potentially turn in a grand total of eight cards for two hours of service. For this event, you could make as many cards as you wish, but any submitted after the first eight did not count toward further service hours.

This Concord High Key Club event was held from the start of August and extended till Thursday, September 15th. As the first club event of our term, members were to express their gratitude to Concord High's teachers and staff in creative ways by using their favorite materials to create cards!

Cards For Teachers:

We appreciate all of the members that have submitted cards and will be sending them off to their recipients promptly. To highlight this event, our webmaster and editor, Jacinta Ng and Ysabelle Bolano, have submitted "Gratitude Bunnies" and "Gratitude Cats" as their expression of appreciation. Please feel free to draw inspiration from these gratitude cards for when our Key Club hosts this event again!

. . . .

For those who didn’t attend this event or other DCMs, please look forward to future division wide activities! Especially to members interested in running for office, those who want to learn more about Key Club, and those who want to get more comfortable among people from clubs other than our own, stay updated on both the Concord High Key Club Instagram account (@concordkc) and the Division 26 North account (@d26ndevils) for announcements and information about upcoming events!

August DCM - Devils Return To Hogwarts:

Park. This event carried out r participants! The first order of business was readiness for club rush, where those who arrived to this event were sorted into houses and began poster making to promote Key Club for each club’s respective school. The admission fee for this event was $3 and covered both dinner and poster making supply costs. More at this event, was a booth selling division spirit gear and Harry Potter merch, where proceeds went towards supporting PTP (Pediatric Trauma Prevention).

The August Division Council Meeting, also known as the August DCM, took place on August 20th, 2022. This month’s theme was “Devils Return To Hogwarts!” Leading up the DCM, the division leadership team or DLT coordinated a Harry Potter themed spirit week!
