Letter From Your Editor

Hey Key Club! We're now half way though summer. I hope you guys have been enjoying it so far. Make sure to keep participating events and volunteering opportunities! We have some fun events coming up, and a Color a Smile event for the month of July. Next month we should be doing most of our events and meetings in person get prepared. I hope to see you all very soon!

Pumpkin Patch Planting Wednesday, June 16th

On June 16th, Concord volunteered at Heather Farms to help plant pumpkins from 10 am to 12 pm. The Pumpkin Planting Event was one of our first in person events since Quarantine. It was a great way to get out and soak up the warm sun, whether it was digging a hole, adding fertilizer, or placing the pumpkin plant in a hole, it felt good to be back in person. Although it was not an easy task, teamwork and peer motivation got us through it. I can’t wait to see our pumpkins flourish in the fall. It was not only a great volunteering experience but also a great bonding experience. “I got to know my fellow board members a lot better” says Jose Rivera.

First in Person Club Meeting Saturday, July 10th

On July 10th, we had our first in person club meeting in over a year! We met at Baldwin Park and Alex told us about the upcoming and current events. At the end of the meeting, our Key Club Member of the Month was announced! Aaron La received the award due to his consistent hard work and attendance.

Cards For Advisors Wednesday, June 30th

On June 30th, Concord, Mount, and Clayton had a joint event. Members from all 3 clubs got together and made cards for their advisor Rocci after suffering from serious health issues. This was a great opportunity to get to know our neighboring clubs better. “I met lots of great people and had a great time” says Jose Rivera. Students bonded over topics such as boba, future career plans, and part-time jobs they’ve held/hold. The 3 clubs diligently worked on cards from 3 to 5 pm. Everyone wanted to show Rocci how grateful they were for all his hard work as well as wish him a swift recovery.
