Dear friends, 2014 was for conDiT a year of creativity and hard work. Between our main achievements we have: produced twelve concerts (two of them were co-productions with the Ciclo de Música Contemporánea del Teatro San Martín: Escrituras Argentinas and François Sarhan en Argentina) and three sound installations, received three international artists in our residence, awarded seven composers, and commissioned and premiered twelve works. In addition we have produced our first international concert, inaugurating Containers project in Vienna, from which a number of international collaborative actions were generated to enhance Argentina 's new concert music in the world. Based on these experiences, and adding our constant pursuit of excellence , we plan a new program filled with opportunities to discover together the new international and argentine concert music. During the 2015 season we will be part of the birth of new music created by composers of our generation. For this purpose it is necessary to provide the creators with the production media and materials; so we will continue building our concert hall (Taller Performático Tecnológico) by developing the third stage of acoustic conditioning; plus the acquisition of new instruments and technology. In addition to the building projects, we are in charge of the full restoration of the Santuario Nuestra Señora de Padua’s pipe organ, a two manuals Laukhuff dated in 1923 located in Parque Patricios, where we will program a micro-cycle of liturgical music for organ and ensemble, also commissioning works by young composers. Within the long-term projects, conDiT continues with the production and programming of the creators composers of the platform ( Luciano Azzigotti and Fernando Manassero ), and for the first time an external composer joins the platform: Agustín Salzano will program the opening season concert Microafinaciones. As always we continue our tradition of commissions, this year we can

highlight the work of Ivan Knees and Ariel Gonzalez Losada. Special projects for this year include the first conDiT Laboratory as a new paradigm of creation, in which from a relational database artistic- aesthetic field’s crosses are generated, promoting the emergence of new approaches to interdisciplinary works. The organization is in charge of nine artists curators of visual arts, literature, criticism, sound art, new technologies, and the GEAM Ensemble. A one-day experience will be open to the public, displaying sound installations, performances, experiments, and conferences. In parallel, we started our training program for critics and music journalism that generates a new place for reflexion focused on concert music in our country, along with the work of composers and performers. In addition to these large-scale projects, in the second half, a concert by the argentine ensemble Tropi (directed by Haydée Schvartz) is programmed. Tropi will perform the local premieres of works by Pierluigi Billone (arranged specially for Tropi), Chaya Czernowin, Beat Furrer, Demian Rudel Rey and Marcos Villalobos. The 2015 season will be completed with international visits: the duo formed by Karin Hellqvist and Heloisa Amaral, the spanish percussion duo re-Convert (Roberto Maqueda y Victor Barceló), the japanese pianist and composer Rei Nakamura, and the Nadar ensemble with the composer Stefan Prins. Not to mention some special surprises to close the year . We're excited to have you join us this season, and together walk through the adventure of creating sounds that no one has heard before. Your friends from conDiT.cheLA

CONTAINER In Argentina there is a tradition related to classical concert music, in which the programmers and regisseurs of argentine concert halls receive (with the support of embassies) top level foreign artists who spread the music of their countries in Argentina. This project has the clear objective to generate a mutual opportunity, so argentine composers and musicians can spread their work abroad within an integrated broadcasting, recording, and international artists’ exchange program; framed by the principle of equal opportunities. The purpose is: update the old "center-periphery" relationship, energizing and encouraging the symmetry of cultural exchange between Argentina and the world. The first chapter of Container is possible thanks to the collaboration between the Embassy of Argentina and conDiT.cheLA , whose team will be in charge of the organization, choice of repertoire and residents , commission works, and the activities advertising. This project will be carried out by groups and halls in Vienna and Graz, associated with conDiT, and will be the second step after the partnerships we have begun in 2014 with the reception of Austrian artists in our platform. During 2015 conDiT will form an ensemble in Vienna with young professional musicians. The ensemble will premiere works by argentine young composers, programmed for the second Container concert (the first antecedent is Transatlantic Interscores, July 2014) on december 10th.

NEW CRITIC The objective is to generate an instance to share and update concepts and aesthetics about contemporary music; the main intention is to revitalize the philosophical reflection exercise. conDiT intends to exercise the joint work with active composers of the music scene in Argentina concert, by providing opportunities to new critics to write and publish their work. For this purpose the critics will work alongside the conDiT producers and artists, performing an exhaustive investigation that will end with the publication of two texts (a short review and an academic paper) plus an interview published in the youtube conDiT channel. This program will update concepts within the field of musicology , and make available texts in spanish and this undoubtedly will promote a new chapter in the analysis, curation , and dissemination of works by argentine composers.

Espiral is a six-monthly magazine in which artists , critics, and organizers involved conDiT write their thoughts and reviews based on conDiT‘s work and activities. Occasionally articles by authors specialized in different areas within the field of music and its interaction with other arts are included. Also Espiral works as program for the concerts, providing a reflective framework around the works and performances. In its third year, the two 2015 issues will contain texts produced by the New Critic program’s musicologists, artists, and thinkers.

RESTORATION OF THE ORGAN - SAN ANTONIO DE PADUA CHURCH During 2015 conDiT will be in charge of stages 2 and 3 of the restoration of the San Antonio de Padua church’s organ. This action crystallizes the commitment of the platform with the practice and exercise of the collective memory in Parque Patricios. The restoration of an instrument transcends individual possibilities, it is always a call to the collective voice. Like bells announcing the moments of meeting, provide sound awareness to abandoned instruments allows us to hear and participate in rituals, and prefigure new ones, updating the exercise of our poetic consciousness that drives us to root ourselves and transcend. With the different impacts of technological waves, the customs of the music’s functions have changed especially in the last century. We are surrounded by an invisible past that deserves to be reborn from silenced voices. This not only means restoring an instrument, but after that restore the memories of those organists who made music that triggers fervor, beliefs, and wills.

TaPeTe

(TALLER PERFORMÁTICO TECNOLÓGICO)

TaPeTe (Taller Performático Tecnológico /Technological Performance Atelier) was created to fulfill the contemporary music’s need for a theater that can be configured to meet diverse purposes. The graduation of the acoustic ranks of absorption and diffusion in three defined spectral bands, helps the space to meet the requirement of traditional concert pieces. They require a high level of definition and sound customization. In taPeTe can also be performed acoustic pieces for instruments which require very specific space conditions, but can also be adapted to performances which require the use of extended materials. Finally, in the auditorium can be developed instrumental and scenography workshops, aimed to provide a space to meet luthiers’ and composers’ needs. In every Project the artists are able to use the space and manage it in totally different ways, offering different experiences from the traditional ones – not only in theatrical but also in spatial terms. In taPeTe can also be performed contemporary pieces that can not be displayed in any other conventional space. During 2015 the third stage (of five) will be developed: renewal of the curtains, new equipment room with high fidelity professional microphones, expansion of the professional lighting system, acoustic optimization, expansion of offices and dressing rooms, and extension of the hall’s modular concept. TaPeTe project will be accomplished in collaboration with the architects Andrea Farina [UnQUI- UNLP], Matías Beccar Varela, and the italian architect Francesco Milano.
