show profiles ANNE SOFIE MADSEN (DK) The Anne Sofie Madsen aesthetic marries rich, airy materials with bold silhouettes and fantastical visions. Having served as junior designer at Alexander McQueen and shown at London Fashion Week, this unstoppable young talent invites you to explore her imaginative universe for the label’s Copenhagen debut. ANNE VEST (DK) Luxury furrier Anne Vest takes a contemporary approach to leather and fur fashion design. Her label explores the subtle possibilities of the materials to develop a raw, dark aesthetic, and uses daring cuts and folds to strike up female fashion magic. ASTRID ANDERSEN (DK) This London-based Danish designer has combined references to streetwear and sportswear with unconventional cuts for a unique vision of the contemporary man. Awarded the Brioni Creativity and Innovation award while studying at the Royal College of art, Astrid Andersen is a new menswear tour-de-force to keep an eye on. BAUM UND PFERDGARTEN (DK) Baum und Pferdgarten have been crafting womenswear innovations since 1999. Characteristic for the label is a fascination with contrasts, providing a dualistic touch. It can be as a meeting between feminine and masculine, minimal contra grandiose, shiny versus matte or something completely different, as Baum und Pferdgarten always aim to surprise. BENEDIKTE UTZON (DK) The feminine designs of Benedikte Utzon are all about understated glamour and contemporary chic. The designer has long since established her talent with designs for several members of the Danish royal family, and opened two flagship stores in Copenhagen and Aarhus in 2010. BRUUNS BAZAAR (DK) Bruuns Bazaar has been a pioneer in the development of an identifiably Scandinavian yet international fashion look for both men and women. The label’s expression is vibrant and charismatic, with a blend of classic styles and modern pieces that has created a group of loyal devotees throughout Europe and in other parts of the world. BY MALENE BIRGER (DK) This international designer brand offers affordable luxury to a growing base of modernminded consumers. Bringing an artistic angle and love to contemporary classics, the brand encourages women — from Scandinavia to North America to the Middle East — to choose the kind of life they truly want to live. CIFF & CIFFKIDS PRESS SHOW (DK) Copenhagen International Fashion Fair (CIFF) is Copenhagen’s oldest and biggest fashion fair. SS’12 DENNIS LYNGSØ (DK) This strong new talent from TEKO has already wowed the fashion world, having won both The Golden Fur Pin and Triumph’s Inspiration Awards. At his Copenhagen Fashion Week debut, Lyngsø welcomes you to an avantgarde universe that explores female mystique under the theme back-to-nature. DESIGNERS REMIX (DK) The internationally renowned womenswear label Designers Remix features forms both organic and geometric, and a daring, unconventional clothing aesthetic. Built on Charlotte Eskildsen’s remix approach to design —adding, subtracting and rearranging elements — the collections are as unpredictable as the women who wear them. DESIGNERS’ NEST (DK) This award honours extraordinarily skilled and promising students of fashion design. With HRH Crown Princess Mary as its patron, Designers’ Nest supports the development of fashion talent with an accolade from the establishment. DESIGNSKOLEN KOLDING (DK) The progressive, international design school Designskolen Kolding teaches fashion as a holistic discipline with an emphasis on sustainability and social inclusion. GULDKNAPPEN (DK) Guldknappen is a Danish design award that has honoured Danish fashion designers since its establishment in 1984, and is dealt out by the lifestyle magazine Alt for Damerne. HELJE HAMRE (NO) A former protégé of Narciso Rodriquez and designer for DKNY, Helje Hamre is Norwegian fashion’s rising superstar. His label fuses a classic design approach with subtle, tailored details and a contemporary edge. HENRIK VIBSKOV (DK) This outré label for both genders has become one of Scandinavia’s most remarkable fashion design exports, with spectacular shows that infuse sartorial creations with an unpredictable, artsy energy. With a new flagship store in New York and an ever-popular, evolving signature, Vibskov keeps stepping it up. HUGO BOSS (DE) The HUGO BOSS show comprises womenswear from three different brands: BOSS Black, with a rich selection of elegant modern classics; BOSS Orange, which offers leisurewear with unconventional material mixes and a playful approach to proportions; and HUGO, delivering innovative looks for those with a young, upbeat attitude. HAANING & HTOON (NO) This Scandinavian/British design duo share a love of classical lines, and have combined their differences in culture, heritage, and female and masculine perspectives to create a design universe that was recently awarded the Norwegian Nåløyet Designer of the Year Award. JEAN//PHILLIP (DK) This Copenhagen-based menswear label features collections primarily in a monochrome palette with an icy, glistening minimalist look. The Jean//Phillip silhouettes, always fresh, range from free-flowing to tight-fitting, give a style that is at once daring, classic and confronting. JEWLSCPH (DK) JEWLSCPH creates a diverse array of jewellery with different kinds of meaning and attitudes on life. Designer Mai Manniche aims to provide a healthy dose of dazzle for every taste, and the JEWLSCPH label is a manifestation of her passion for beautiful gems and colours. Magnus Lõppe (DK) This recent TEKO graduate received the Designers’ Nest Award back in February for his crisp, original take on menswear. Describing his design as calm, clean and complex, Lõppe creates clothes that play with menswear classics and architectural forms. MAXJENNY (SE) This innovative, autodidactic fashion designer works with fabrics directly on the body to explore the movement of garments on the body’s own architecture, rather than the traditional paper-based design methods. Along with a spontaneous yet secure sense of colours, this technique has become the MAXJENNY signature. MINIMARKET (SE) Swedish designer label Minimarket stuns with every collection in a revelation of bright colours, bold prints and sophisticated sexiness. Enter minimarket’s wonderland and see for yourself how the designers fuse exclusive high fashion with a healthy dose of quirky humour. MUNTHE PLUS SIMONSEN (DK) Founded in 1994, this award-winning design company, makes headway each season with new takes on contemporary womenswear. Great care is lavished on the individual designs and on the many details, colours and materials that have been specially designed for each collection. NINA ROBENHAGEN (DK) This young Danish design talent from TEKO is ready for a dramatic show schedule debut. With layered styles and experimental silhouettes, Robenhagen’s designs are bound to garner attention from daring fashionistas. R/H LABEL (FI) Designers Hanna Riiheläinen & Emilia Hernesniemi have joined forces to create a unique world of colours, shapes and playful details. Founded on Nordic minimalism, insightful feminine cuts and a certain spirit of black magic, the R/H label appeals to women with a strong sense of individuality and a creative mind. SOULLAND (DK) Soulland’s design aesthetic is rooted in traditional Scandinavian craftsmanship, reinterpreting classical menswear with a present-day sensibility. This approach, recognisable in key items such as the Adler Fedora, which merges a classic fedora hat with a baseball cap, has granted Soulland worldwide recognition and representation in leading stores across Europe and the US.
