BARNACLE GOOSE TYPEFACE Typography IV, Spring 2012 Instructor: Francheska Guerrero Created an ornamental typeface using Didot as an underlay. This decorative all caps typeface is called “Barnacle Goose” and features sea like creatures within the letterforms. This typeface was drawn by hand and then digitalized. THE SEA LIFE MUSIC POSTER February 2013 Client: The Sea Life Music A poster created for The Sea Life’s show at The Black Cat in Washington, DC. The Sea Life is an indie dream-pop band from Gaithersburg, MD.

NEXT AT THE CORCORAN 2012 Design Lab, Fall 2011-Spring 2012 Instructor: Maria Habib NEXT at the Corcoran, is a dynamic, interactive, and innovative exhibition of work by the graduating students of the Corcoran. This identity was created in collaboration between the 2012 Design Lab designers, Design Lab manager, and the Senior Director of Design. The design concept, “interweaving connections,� refers to how individuals interact, interweave, and intersect, creating a unified community and networking system. This concept is best exemplified with simple pieces of string, with each representing an individual. CREER ES CAMPAIGN Junior Design Studio II, Spring 2012 Instructor: Sam Shelton The Creer Es campaign was created in collaboration with eight Corcoran College of Art + Design students to increase the awareness of the importance of voting within the Latino population of Northern Virginia. Creer Es is part of the Design Ignites Change “Get Out the Vote!� campaign in 2012. Various print and digital collateral were created along with the brand identity of this campaign.

SCIENCE CLUB BRAND IDENTITY Sophomore Studio II, Spring 2011 Instructor: Robert McVearry Redesign project of the Science Club brand. The Science Club is an after school program in Massachusetts. THINK BLUE CAMPAIGN Junior Design Studio I, Fall 2011 Instructor: John Carmody THINK BLUE is a membership campaign for the Chesapeake Bay. This campaign calls people to promote saving the bay in a creative way by getting the message out on the streets. By distributing non-toxic blue chalk THINK BLUE asks people to color their streets blue with promotional messages and drawings about the importance of saving the Chesapeake Bay. The THINK BLUE logo is in Gotham bold and slightly altered to emphasize the creative aspect of this campaign. With the repetitive patterned swirls that mimic the waves of the bay.

A NEW LANGUAGE: DPS PUBLICATION Designing for Mobile Devices, Fall 2012 Instructor: David Ramos This interactive Adobe DPS ipad publication is based off of Radiolab’s “Words” podcast, exploring the evolution of sign language in Nicaragua. Broken down into interactive articles, this publication walks the viewer through the development of this language.

SOMETHING SEEN + OVERHEARD Designing for Mobile Devices, Fall 2012 Instructor: David Ramos The challenge was to create an app that presented locations in DC differently than how they usually are perceived. The solution was this app, which lets you share and view perspectives on locations in the Washington, DC area through submitting photos and fragments of overheard conversations.

THESIS: PERCEPTUAL PATTERNS


PERCEPTUAL PATTERNS Graphic Design Thesis, Fall 2012-Spring 2013 Instructor: Antonio Alcala and Alice Powers This thesis includes a written paper, eight pattern prints and takeaways installed in the Corcoran Gallery of Art, and a print and digital publication exploring the role of visual patterns in graphic design. Installation Description: All originating from the natural elements that surround our environment, each of the eight patterns presented carry a distinct persona that changes the design’s message when used. Each element within these patterns cannot stand alone and carry the same message. Through various placements, scale, and color applied to each pattern, an intricate design and distinct meaning is created. The stark white space represents the design’s message. As each pattern is placed in this space the message of the design changes depending on the pattern used within it. Shown: Installation Details
