Animation Project | Pan’s Labyrinth Process Animation of the title credits of Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth. I wanted to convey the key concepts that the movie presents-the dangers of mixing dark and good magic. The red magic increasingly grows throughout the movie as the fawn becomes more dangerous to the girl, but in the end the good is the purest and most valuable within this dark fairytale.

Typeface design project Process Aesthetic Inspirations A typeface made of coffee grounds, Morning Rush displays a fight to recover from a sleepless night. The type is organized chaos; it is unpredictable but repetitive just like a morning routine. Each letter relies on accidents but still holds an integrety of a historical typeface. The typeface has natural undertones allowing the typeface to be interpreted as different objects.

MAGAZINE PROJECT REEFER MADNESS Coral Reefs are among the most ancient of the Earth’s natural wonders. They are biologically diverse ecosystems on the planet, facing threats of natural stresses, such as hurricanes, cyclones, typhoons, earthquakes, or plagues of coral-eating predators like the crown of thorns starfish. However, humans are just as destructive. Developments in monitoring techniques, as well as studies of the reefs’ geologic growth and development will help provide information that is essential if coral reefs are to be saved.

Branding project bollywood bistro The golden flame represents the light and excitement Bollywood, capturing the movement and aroma of sensual spices and fine dining. The crimson red b represents the power, passion, and energy of the Bollywood Bistro. The way the B wisps underneath the flame represents the Diwila Diya, a traditional candle used in Indian culture. The mark overall indirectly refers to Sanskrit, the primary language of Hinduism and Buddhism.

Branding project creer es: join our conversation Just before the 2012 elections, a group of Corcoran students have launched a game-changing ‘get out the vote’ campaign, Creer Es. A completely non-partisan and student-run campaign, Creer Es is Spanish for “to believe is.” We aim to encourage and empower citizens by talking about beliefs, community, family and how they relateto voting. This project was collarborated on with several other Corcoran design students.

Memento poster design final design I explored themes of the movie within my title treatments. I wanted to capture the confusion between two temporary dimensions, going forward and backward in time, all a distortion of the viewer’s memory. My final title treatment reflected two dimensions moving simutaneously together, connecting memories. The DVD cover and movie poster were more literal, showing the three main characters hovering over the mystery of the wife’s death. The quote, “I took that, right when you did it. Look How happy you are. Before you forgot,” appears at the top as a foreshadowing of the back cover.

MUSEUM PROJECT SENSE INTERNATIONAL DESIGN MUSEUM Sense International Design Museum is an environmental design campaign that showcases work of designers and photographers from around the world. Artists are stimulated by changing technologies and the environment, and they adjust accordingly. The building was designed to blend in with the environment around it and is covered in foliage. The building has large windows so visitors can experience the changing of the seasons. The collateral and application of the brand reflects the architect’s original intent. The museum includes a Gift shop.
