PSOE Councillor María García visited Orihuela Costa recently to check on the improvements announced by Ciudadanos Councillor Luisa Boné ... and declared them decidedly lacking. She said that although the area is evidently better than it was after the storms in December, it is still “a long way from being up to scratch for residents and tourists”. “There is still a lot of work to do,” claimed the socialist. “In Campoamor not even one of the foot taps is working and the handrails onto the beach wobble because they are not properly fixed down. At La Zenia there are still broken handrails and foot taps. Aguamarina is closed with a sign warning about the danger of rockfalls and it is full of rocks and seaweed. In Cabo Roig seaweed is still piling up in a corner and smells very strong.” She went on to say that “the urbanisations also need work as plant cuttings and rubbish keep piling up. The
