Ed’s Note..

Hola! Hope you are enjoying the summer so far!? August is all about relaxing, getting to the beach soaking up those rays with a cheeky beer or maybe a pina colada! If you aren’t quite bikini or speedo ready then check out our guide on how to beat the bulge on page 46. It’s Feria time in Malaga this month… One of Andalucía’s best, where the city center is transformed in the daytime with people dressed in typical costume and plenty of food and drink is available. In the evenings there are nights dedicated to flamenco dance and music, the port is lit up by a firework display and of course there is the huge fair to enjoy. This year the feria runs from the 15th-23rd August! Hope you have a great month relax and don’t forget the sun cream…

A Woman’s World

MEN & WOMEN AT WAR!

WHO DOES WHAT... A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning. The wife said, 'You should do it because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee. The husband said, 'You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.' Wife replies, 'No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee. Husband replies, 'I can't believe that, show me.' So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says 'HEBREWS'. A VERY WINDY PROBLEM... A bloke sits in front of the TV all day, farting like there’s no tomorrow. But not just gassy, airy farts – these are mega-greasy wet ones, the kind that would make a dog vomit. His wife, understandably, is angry and says, ‘One day, you’re going to fart your guts out.’ The next weekend, as the wife is preparing a chicken for Sunday lunch, her husband falls asleep. Spotting and an opportunity to get her own back, she takes the innards of the chicken and places them inside the underwear her husband is wearing, She then goes back to cooking the lunch. Later, the man comes to the dinner table looking very frightened. ‘What happened?’ asks the wife. ‘Well,’ says the man ‘you were right. I farted my guts out.’ ‘What did you do?’ asks the wife. ‘Well, with a lot of effort and these two fingers, I shoved them all back up there!’

KYLIE JENNER TO BECOME A BILLIONAIRE... People are actually donating to a crowdfunding campaign to help Kylie Jenner become a billionaire HAS THE WORLD GONE MAD? Last month it was reported that Kylie Jenner, of Keeping Up the Kardashians fame was on her way to becoming the youngest billionaire in the world. Forbes announced this landmark earlier this week when they confirmed that thanks to her cosmetics brand, she now has a net worth of $900 million. Unbelievably a Go Fund Me campaign has been launched to help Jenner earn the extra $100 million that she needs to become a billionaire. Once word got around, Twitter users began to voice their disgust and pointed out more noteworthy campaigns that people should give their money to..... DOWNTON ABBEY FILM CONFIRMED… Fans of Downton Abbey can breathe a sign of relief - a film of the hugely successful TV series has finally been confirmed after much speculation. The show's creator Julian Fellowes has written the film's screenplay, and he is going to co-produce as well. The "original principal cast" will begin production later this summer. Joanne Froggatt, who played maid Anna Bates, tweeted that she was "delighted". Many fans of the show took to Twitter to welcome the news. We can’t wait...! STRICTLY GOSSIP GEMMA COLLINS BANNED FROM SHOW…

Craig Revel Horwood claims he's banned Gemma Collins from the show. He told The Sun last month: "I created that [ban], thank goodness. Well that was Gemma Collins, who wanted to make her merry way on the show and try to hold the BBC to ransom after falling down a hole. Referring to TOWIE star Gemma's BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards stage tumble last year one of many brilliant things The GC has done Craig said he's responsible for keeping her away from the dancefloor. It' would have been a dancing disaaastah, dahling.

OF THE MOST UNUSUAL INSURANCE POLICIES

Forget life insurance, home insurance etc.... We’re talking UFO abduction insurance We’re all familiar with life insurance and home insurance, but did you know you can insure yourself against pretty much anything, as long as you’re willing to pay of course. Why not sit back and read for yourself some of the most unusual policies out there.

1)

UFO abduction insurance

2) 3)

If you live in fear of being beamed up by aliens, who are you going to call? Lloyds of London of course. They claim to have around 20,000 insurance policies covering UFO or alien abduction. Just be warned: you’d need to take a lie detector test and have a third party witness to get your payout.

FANTASY SPORTS INSURANCE

You might think playing the manager of a fantasy football team is a bit of fun, but for some it’s clearly serious business. There are insurance policies available that reimburse ‘managers’ if one of their key players is injured for a set number of games. Fantastical!

FALIING COCONUT INSURANCE

Believe it or not, falling coconuts cause about 150 deaths each year. In 1984, a UK travel company insured their guests against injuries caused by falling coconuts. One customer who received a coconut conk on the head in SriLanka actually received an insurance pay out - and lived to tell the tale.

Lottery Winners INSURANCE

10

OF THE MOST UNUSUAL INSURANCE POLICIES

It’s possible to insure yourself against haunting and even ghostly happenings. One English hotel owner took out insurance after being convinced he saw a ghost at his bar. The policy would pay out a whopping £1 million if a customer were unlucky enough to be killed or disabled by the spooky spectre. Sadly not insurance that pays out when you don’t win the lottery. It’s actually insurance designed to protect the bosses who get left in the lurch. This policy covers the cost of hiring temps and training new employees if the office lottery syndicate just so happens to scoop the jackpot and all do a moonlight flit to paradise.

Body ParT INSURANCE

Celebrities’ insuring their prized body parts isn’t a new thing. Back in the 40s, Bette Davis insured her waistline against expansion. Today, Heidi Klum has insured her legs for $2 million (each!), James Bond star Daniel Craig has his body insured for $9.5 million and Jennifer Lopez thinks her famous derriere is worth an incredible $27 million. Dolly Parton has each breast insured for a rather fulsome $300,000 and Tom Jones has his trademark chest hair insured against thinning.

Immaculate Conception insurance

7) 8)

In 2006, three sisters in Scotland had insurance to cover the costs if they were to give birth to the second incarnation of Jesus Christ. In 1999, Lloyds also insured a woman named Mary Murphy against a virgin birth triggered by the arrival of the Millennium.

Sports Fan INSURANCE

9)

10

Worried your beloved footy team might let you down? There’s a policy for that. In 2006 an English football fan took out insurance to cover him for any “severe trauma” caused if England went out of the World Cup in the early rounds. The boys made it to the quarter-finals, so no pay out was made but probably wise to renew this policy every four years! Weddings insurance is nothing new but in the States one company includes "change of heart" cover should the bride or groom do a runner. Counselling for a broken heart is an optional extra. A successful claim could be tricky though, seeing as the jilting must be done 180 days in advance of the wedding, so last minute wobbles are excluded.

COld FeeT INSURANCE

10)

OF THE MOST UNUSUAL INSURANCE POLICIES

Werewolf or vampire INSURANCE

Panic not. You can cover yourself against attacks from hairy wolves and bloodsucking beings. Once again Lloyds of London steps into the breach, offering policies for all such eventualities, even a zombie apocalypse.

A Very Alluring Poodle...

Three handsome male dogs are padding down the street when they see a beautiful, enticing, female Poodle just on the other side of the road.... The three male dogs fall all over themselves in an effort to be the one to reach her first, but end up arriving in front of her at the same time. The males are speechless before her beauty, slobbering on themselves and hoping for just a glance from her in return. Aware of her charms and her obvious effect on the three suitors, she decides to be kind and tells them, "The first one who can use the words 'liver' and 'cheese' together in an imaginative, intelligent sentence can go out with me." The sturdy, muscular black Lab speaks up quickly and says, "I love liver and cheese." "Oh, how childish," said the Poodle, "That shows no imagination or intelligence whatsoever." "Oh, ho She turns to the tall, shiny Golden Retriever and w childis says "How well can you do?" h..." "Um. I HATE liver and cheese," blurts the Golden Retriever. "My, my," said the Poodle, "I guess it's hopeless.” That's just as stupid as the Lab's sentence." She then turns to the last of the three dogs and says, "How about you, little guy?" The last of the three, tiny in stature but big in fame and finesse, is the Mexican, Legally Blonde star Chihuahua (he may dress in pink but he’s all dog…). He gives her a smile, a sly wink, turns to the Golden Retriever and the Lab and says.... Liver alone. Cheese mine.

GADGETS &Gizmo’s Virtual synths are all well and good, but nothing gives you that feeling of being in the moment as physical hardware. UNO Synth gives you such power, and packs a full mono analogue experience. It kicks out some big sounds. Awair is keen to address the problem, the device analyses indoor air and a colour-coded at-a-glance display outlines current conditions for temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, chemicals and fine dust. Compatible with Alexa and Nest, the Awair also has an app that provides tips, notifications, and sleep reports.

All the latest in the world of tech and gaming... Whether you’re a social media aficionado or an illustrator, this little gadget might just be the essential you never knew you needed. It’s a stylus that attaches magnetically to your iPhone, so you can easily draw, doodle and annotate on the move, but what makes the Adonit Snap 2 more interesting than the average stylus is its ability to act as a shutter remote for your phone’s camera.

Segway’s new Drift W1 e-skates are a bit like a hoverboard cut in half. They use Segway’s self-balancing tech, so all you have to do is place a foot on top of each skate, rather than locking them in. That doesn’t mean it won’t all end in tears.

Three Men on a Hike... Three men were hiking through a forest when they came upon a large raging, violent river. Needing to get to the other side, The first man prayed: 'God, please give me the strength to cross the river.' Poof! .. God gave him big arms and strong legs And he was able to swim... Across in about 2 hours, having almost drowned twice. After witnessing that, the second man prayed: 'God, please give me strength and the tools to cross the river' Poof! .. God gave him a rowboat and strong arms And strong legs and he was able to row across in about an hour after almost capsizing once. Seeing what happened to the first two men, The third man prayed: 'God,please give me the strength, The tools and the intelligence... To cross the river' Poof! .. He was turned into a woman. She checked the map. Hiked one Hundred yards up stream... And walked across the bridge.

SURPRISING THINGS YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW WERE CONSIDERED BAD LUCK Even the not-so-superstitious know that breaking a mirror and walking under a ladder can bring bad luck. But there are plenty of other, lesser-known things that also have a reputation for causing misfortune. Not to freak you out, but you’re probably doing some of them all the time. 1) CARRYING BANANAS ON A SHIP: Sailors have always been a superstitious bunch. And “bunches,” indeed, were actually one of the things that they considered bad luck to have around on the high seas. In the 1700s, many ships that were lost or shipwrecked while traveling between Spain and the Caribbean happened to be carrying bananas at the time, so having one on board came to mean bad news. Whistling on a ship, too, was also said to bring bad luck, because letting loose a whistle was supposed to present a “challenge” to the wind. The wind would supposedly respond in kind by sending a storm. 2) WISHING SOMEONE A HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEFORE THEIR ACTUAL BIRTHDAY: Want to make an entire weekend of your birthday that falls on a Sunday? In that case, you might not want to celebrate in Germany. That’s because many Germans believe that wishing someone a happy birthday before the day itself will cause misfortune to befall everyone involved. Instead, they follow a tradition called “reinfeiern,” where they get together the night before someone’s birthday and begin celebrating exactly when the clock strikes midnight. Saying “happy birthday” so much as a minute sooner is a major no-no. 3) CHANGING YOUR BED ON A FRIDAY: According to an old wives’ tale, if you turn a mattress on a Friday, you’ll be cursed with bad dreams. Another variation says that changing your bed on a Sunday is bad news too, so you might just want to avoid replacing your sheets on weekends.

34

4) MXING WATERMELON & WINE, ACCORDING TO AN ARGENTINIAN CUSTOM: Bad news for lovers of watermelon wine: According to Argentinian custom, you’re flirting with disaster by putting these two things together. Not only should you never let these two substances touch one another, you shouldn’t even put them on the same table. This superstition has a few more and less stringent variations, though; some people avoid mixing watermelon with any type of alcohol, while others limit the restriction to just red wine and watermelon. This old wives’ tale warns that the two substances can be lethal together (or at the very least, cause a bad stomachache).

5) TUESDAY THE 13TH: Maybe Friday the 13th is a bringer of bad luck; maybe it’s just a matter of perspective. While Anglo-Saxon cultures see Friday the 13th as bad news, in Spain, the 13th day of the month is more unlucky when it falls on a Tuesday. In Spanish, the word for Tuesday is “Martes,” which comes from Mars, the Roman god of war, so Tuesday spells trouble. One thing both cultures agree on, though, is that 13 is an unlucky number.

6) RENAMING A BOAT: What could possibly be bad luck about getting a new boat?! Well, if you alter its existing name, you could be tempting fate. This legend dates back to ancient times when sailors believed that the name of every single boat was written down in the immutable ledger of Poseidon. If you dared change the name of a boat, you’d incur the sea god’s wrath. If your boat’s name was one that you absolutely couldn’t stand, however, there was a loophole, according to BoatSafe.com. You could successfully “erase” the old name of the boat from Poseidon’s log by removing all traces of it. This meant everything from the bow of the boat to the life jackets had to be free of the old name. If you dared display the boat’s new name before every last vestige of the old one was gone, you’d be pushing your luck big time. 7) GIVING YELLOW ITEMS OF CLOTHING: Another Spanish badluck superstitionclaims that recipients of saffron-colored garments will experience bad luck. According to Spanish legend, the sulfurous color of yellow is related to black magic or, for the more extremely superstitious, even the Devil himself. If you’re feeling really superstitious, you should avoid wearing yellow altogether, but especially if you’re interviewing for a job, taking a test, or doing something else for which good luck would be beneficial.

8) MIXING BEERS: The Czech Republic is the country that consumes the largest quantity of beer per capita, so it makes sense that there would be some unwritten rules and superstitions associated with having a brew. Supposedly, if you pour one type of beer into a mug containing another type, you’re in for some misfortune. 9) SAYING “MACBETH” IN A THEATER: In an unusual twist, it’s the popularity of this Shakespeare tragedy that makes its name bad luck. Legend has it that in England when a new play was a flop, the theater would end the run early and stage a production of Macbeth instead, since the popular show was a guaranteed hit. Therefore, saying “Macbeth” in the theater was equivalent to tempting fate and implying that the production might fail. Even today, thespians dare not utter the name of “the Scottish play” within a theater’s walls. 10) TURNING OVER COOKED FISH: When eating fish in some regions of China, it’s bad luck to turn over your dinner. Flipping over the fish is said to correspond to the motion of a boat capsizing. To avoid triggering such a disaster, many people in China reach the meat on the underside of the fish with chopsticks instead of rotating it.

11) POINTING AT A RAINBOW: In some cultures, including the Navajo tradition, pointing at a rainbow would incur the wrath of the gods. People considered rainbows to be celestial beings, or at the very least, sent by them. So you could ooh and aah at a rainbow all you liked, but if you pointed at one, you would disrespect the deity responsible for it. 13) COMPLIMENTING A BABY: In Serbia, if you 12) CUTTING A YOUNG BABY’S NAILS: According say a baby is cute or sweet, you risk dooming to an old-fashioned Welsh tradition, parents the baby to a lifetime of bad luck. Saying it’s ugly should never cut their baby’s nails before he or she instead will keep it safe in the luck department. reaches six months old. The superstition warns that So in Serbia, there’s essentially no way for parif the baby has its nails cut in its first six months of ents to tell if someone actually thinks their baby life, he or she will grow up to have sticky fingers is funny-looking or if they’re just trying to save it and will become a thief. from misfortune.

You’re in the Army now...

General Cosgrove from the Australian Army was interviewed on the radio recently. In a portion of an ABC radio interview between a female broadcaster and General Cosgrove he explains he is about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting the military Headquarters where he works.... FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Cosgrove, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?

GENERAL COSGROVE: I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.

GENERAL COSGROVE: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and shooting.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: But you're equipping them to become violent killers.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?

GENERAL COSGROVE: Well, Ma'am, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

GENERAL COSGROVE: I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range. FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?

The radio went silent for 46 seconds and when it returned, this interview was over.

SIGNS YOUR THYROID ISN’T WORKING PROPERLY‌

A thyroid disorder epidemic is upon us? The thyroid, a butterfly-shaped gland in the neck, can have a dramatic impact on a huge variety of bodily functions, and if you're a woman over 35 your odds of a thyroid disorder are very high more than 30%.

WHAT THE THYROID GLAND DOES:

Located above the Adam's apple, your thyroid produces thyroid hormone (TH), which regulates, among other things, your body's temperature, metabolism, and heartbeat. Things can start to go wrong when your thyroid is under- or over-active. If it's sluggish, it produces too little TH; amped-up and it produces too much. What causes your thyroid to go haywire? It could be genetics, an autoimmune attack, pregnancy, stress, nutritional deficiencies, or toxins in the environment, but experts aren't entirely sure. Because of thyroid hormones far reach in the body from brain to bowels diagnosing a disorder can be challenging. Here's how to tell if your thyroid could be on the blink.

YOU'RE EXHAUSTED: Feeling tired and having no energy are issues associated with lots of conditions, but they're strongly linked with hypothyroidism, the disorder that's the result of too little thyroid hormone. If you're still tired in the morning or all day after a full night's sleep, that's a clue that your thyroid may be underactive. Too little thyroid hormone coursing through your bloodstream and cells means your muscles aren't getting that get-going signal.

YOU'RE FEELING LOW: Feeling unusually depressed or sad can also be a symptom of hypothyroidism. Why? It's thought that the production of too little thyroid hormone can have an impact on levels of "feel good" serotonin in the brain. With an underactive thyroid turning other body systems down to "low," it's not surprising that your mood might sink there, too.

YOU FEEL JITTERY & ANXIOUS: Anxiety and "feeling wired" are associated with hyperthyroidism, when the thyroid gland is making too much thyroid hormone. Flooded with consistent "all systems go" messages, your metabolism and whole body may spin into overdrive. If you feel like you just can't relax, your thyroid may be "hyper."

YOUR APPETITE OR TASTE BUDS ARE ALTERED: An increased appetite can be a sign of hyperthy-

roidism when too much thyroid hormone may have you feeling hungry all of the time. The only upside is that the "hyper" part of the disorder typically offsets the caloric impact of an increased appetite so the end result isn't weight gain. An underactive thyroid, on the other hand, can mess with your sense of taste and smell.

YOUR BRAIN FEELS FUZZY: Yes, it could be caused by sleep deprivation or aging, but cognitive functioning can take a hit when your thyroid is out of whack. Too much thyroid hormone (hyperthyroidism) can cause difficulty concentrating and too little (hypothyroidism) may cause forgetfulness and general brain fog.

YOU'VE LOST YOUR INTEREST IN SEX: Having little or no desire in the sack could be a side effect of a thyroid disorder. Too little thyroid hormone could be a contributor to a low libido, but the cumulative impact of other hypothyroidism symptoms weight gain, low energy, and body aches and pains could also play a part. YOUR PERIODS HAVE CHANGED: Longer menstrual periods with a heavier flow and more cramps can be a sign of hypothyroidism, where thyroid hormones are in short supply. Periods may be closer together. With hyperthyroidism, high levels of TH cause menstrual irregularities in a different way. Periods are shorter, farther apart and may be very light. And if periods are extra-heavy, you should check for anemia, too.

Summer Fruit & MascarponeTart Think of this summer fruit tart with whipped mascarpone as an oversized millefeuille. It’s very easy to make, but impressive enough for a special gathering!

1) Heat oven to Method: 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Unroll 1 pastry sheet, but leave it

on the parchment. Place it on a baking tray, dust with 2 tbsp icing sugar, then cover with another sheet of parchment and another baking tray. Pour baking beans into the tray to weigh it down, or use empty cans. •2 x 320g ready-rolled puff pastry Bake for 30 mins, then check if the pastry is golden all over. If not, return •100g icing sugar for another 5 mins or so. Repeat with the other pastry sheet (or cook both •750g tub mascarpone together if you have enough trays). Once out of the oven, trim the edges •600ml double cream with a large, sharp knife. Leave to cool. •2 tsp vanilla extract •200g raspberries, a few halved 2) Softly whip the mascarpone, cream, vanilla and remaining icing sugar, •200g blackberries, a few halved then transfer half to a disposable piping bag fitted with a 1.5cm round nozzle (or just snip off the corner). Pipe blobs of the mascarpone cream over •1 large mango, the surface of one piece of pastry, right up to the edges. Top with half the

3) Top with the second piece of pastry, more mascarpone cream (refilling the bag when you need to), the remaining fruit, a dusting of icing sugar and, finally, some mint leaves. THE GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED

The Goodwood Festival Of Speed is one of the biggest motoring events in The World; last month saw the Event’s Silver Jubilee. Here are some of the highlights. Every year the competition is to see which car is the fastest up the driveway outside the magnificent house - a 9-turn strip of tarmac running uphill for just over a mile. This year was the first time an all-electric car, the Volkswagen I.D. R won setting a mighty impressive 43.86 second time. Another first in the hill climb was the Siemans Mustang, looking like a classic 1965 Mustang; it is autonomous and filled with tech. and a governed speed of 20MPH, the engineer at the wheel had to intervene a couple of times when the car lost its way and hit the hay bales… On display was this 1955 left-hand drive XK140 Coupe owned by Brigitte Bardot. The original bodywork was destroyed in a crash in 1957 and Italian firm Michelotti crafted a new body it was recently discovered and sold to Jaguar Land Rover who plan a full restoration. This is no ordinary lawn mower: the 135mphplus Mean Mower V2 has been built by Team Dynamics (which runs Honda’s works BTCC team) in order that Honda can regain the world record for the world’s fastest mower. Powered by a 190bhp 1.0 SP1 Fireblade engine, and it can actually mow the lawn.

58

Another anniversary this is year is the 70th birthday of Porsche Cars. Singer have teamed up with F1 constructors Williams and debuted a new 500 bhp 964 911 with a completely bespoke powertrain, lightweight body and cabin with a detailed mix of custom leather trim, carbon fibre panels.

THE RISE OF THE DOLL OR THE DUMMY... THE FIRST VENTRILOQUISTS

Ventriloquism was once called 'the wickedness which lurks in the belly and deserves to dwell in the cesspool'. The quotation is from Photius, a 9th-century Patriarch of Constantinople (and a tough nut who once excommunicated the Pope). At that time ventriloquism wasn’t seen as a clever trick so much as an illness or demonic possession. The sufferers were almost always women as 'the weaker sex' they were supposedly more liable to possession.

occurring hallucinogenic gas might explain the oracle at Delphi persisted for many years, but it's discounted by modern geologists).

Another ventriloquist who came a cropper was Elizabeth Barton (1506-ish to 1534), an English nun known as ‘The Holy Maid of Kent' or 'The Mad Maid of Kent'. She claimed that she was hearing spirits through her abdomen. For a while they were favourable prophecies, as she reported to Henry VIII himself. However, the voices soon started prophesying against the royal divorce, predicting wars and plagues and that Henry would be deposed if he married Anne Boleyn. Henry responded by having her hanged, and put her head on a pole at London Bridge. Whilst under sentence she confessed that the ventriloqual voices had been a trick, but sadly it didn’t do her any good.

Christian commentators explained the Oracle at Delphi, an ancient Greek mystic, by saying she sat on a cleft in the earth, and that a gas entered her through her genitals. In this gas was a spirit which spoke through her genitals. (The idea that a naturally- More about VENTRILOQUISM NEXT MONTH...

Capricorn, your love life is very intense, particularly until August 23rd 2018. You feel the need for deep, serious relationships. You’re open to the idea of making commitments for the long run and demand the same from your partner. The solar eclipse of August 11th 2018 can give you the necessary energy to detach from toxic relationships. You could build from the ground up again, benefiting from more mutual trust and loyalty, or put and end to a co-dependent relationship. The solar eclipse is also a sign that you need to be cautious about your money. A crisis can inspire solutions for an older money-related issue. If you have pressing debts, it puts you in a bad mood, just be careful who you blow your top at! You tend to set too many goals this month and the fatigue sets in. Give yourself time to rest, quiet down your mind, and calm your nerves. Aquarius, until August 23rd 2018 the Sun brings to light a series of older issues that need to be addressed and resolved as a couple. With Mercury in apparent retrograde motion until August 19th, communication isn’t exactly piece of cake. If you’re single, the solar eclipse also brings opportunities to meet someone interesting, but you shouldn’t rush into making commitments for the long run until maybe the last week of the month. The solar eclipse also encourages renewing professional contracts and collaborations or wrapping up those that aren’t working out anymore in order to make room for new ones. You’ll do better as far as money is concerned after August 23rd 2018. If you need to get your spirits up this month, you should make time for doing things that really please your soul. Do things that you really believe in. Pisces, your love life is full of events, surprises, but also of controversy and arguments this month. Differences between and other half are more obvious this month and tend to cast a shadow over your joint goals. Don’t get desperate and give in all the time though! If you have a secret crush on someone now is not the time to confess how you feel because you might be rejected or be given conditions. From a professional standpoint, you have a lot of work to do in order to get everything you want. If friends owe you money and aren’t hurrying to give it back to you, resume discussions with confidence and patience. Results might come in after August 27th 2018. During the second half of the month you might feel tired and just plain worn out. Try to take some time out enjoy the summer - why not get to the beach! Aries, with the Sun transiting your sign you enjoy a passionate month! Some things about your love life need to be clarified, a lot can go wrong because of bad communication. Mercury and Jupiter are situated in your skies throughout August 2018 so it’s tough to reach an agreement. Also important is the partial solar eclipse of August 22nd 2018, it gives you an excellent opportunity to hit the refresh button on your love life and change it for the better, after a critical term. If you are single you should be patient and avoid excessive expenses on entertainment or impressing someone you’re particularly interested in. Things are looking good as far as money is concerned, provided you don’t fall prey to financial speculation or unjustified expenses. On the work front you feel your merits aren’t recognised or nothing you try to do works out. In order to get over this obstacle you need to be self-disciplined professional

Taurus, this month seems to be much more favorable for those who want to flirt have fun and meet new people without making commitments. But if you’re looking for something long-term August isn’t the month for it! During the second half of August 2018, if you are in a serious relationship a series of events and new information force you rethink your plans. They might redefine the rules by which they behave in their marriage. Negotiations with your better half aren’t exactly pleasant, although you reach an agreement after August 19th 2018. From a professional standpoint, you can achieve a lot this month it’s time to let a breeze of fresh air into your professional life and orient yourself toward pursuits that truly fit who you are. When it comes to money this month is going to be a lot more giving than the last few. But you’ll be very tempted to spend beyond what you can afford.

Gemini, Venus enters your sign on August 7th 2018, if you are single then you’ll make the most of beginning a new love story or resuming an older one. If you cheated over the years or recently, you’ll get caught out you might find yourself sleeping on the sofa! Things are looking good as far as money is concerned this month, but results won’t show right away. Negotiations are favored, even some investments, but more so those with long-term interest. You may be offered a promotion or some sort of deal at work give yourself time to think things through and reach a mental and emotional balance. You rediscover the satisfaction of putting in an effort and keeping healthy and fit. You should make the time to rest during weekends in a calm environment you’ll feel the benefits immediately.

Cancer, Jupiter is in your sign this month along with Neptune favouring dreaming, about love and being in a fantastical relationship. The downside might be that you overlook too easily some details that are in fact significant; you might unwillingly end up in a position of taking on money-related responsibilities or of any other kind in connection to relationships that have barely started BECAREFUL… Money is a hot topic this month and may put you in tough spots and conflict-laden situations. But you can’t keep avoiding these matters. There might be some arguments and frustrations related to income or some money that you feel sure should be yours. After August 24th 2018, good news and changes regarding your profession and money are in store for you. During the second half of the month you might benefit from a holiday, relax and rewind let all the stresses wash away.

Leo, with the Sun in your sign until August 23rd 2018, you’ll be a bit me, me me…. it’s tough for anyone else to take the spotlight. You tend to be overly expansive and centered on your needs. On the other hand, the solar eclipse of August 11th 2018 might be a good opportunity to reconsider your attitudes toward others and your other half. Most single Leos will get lots attention of potential partners even without meaning to this month. Saturn is in a harmonious aspect with Uranus this month. This means that the professional part of your life is favoured, but things move along slowly. If you’re after a promotion, be careful about your predisposition to an inflated ego and being overly sensitive to what others say about you. There won’t be any money-related leaps made this month. August is favorable for relaxing and pampering yourself, recharge your batteries.

Virgo, Saturn is still retrograde until September 6th 2018 so you need to arm yourself with patience if you’re looking for the great love or are trying to resolve some emotional issue. If you feel like some emotionally charged situations are playing over and over avoid making the same mistakes this time around. August 2018 begins under the influence of professional frustrations that make you crankier and more offensive than you should be it won’t be constructive for your professional ties. With Mercury in direct motion from August 19th 2018 and the Sun in your sign you become more confident and can make a lot of progress in your professional and personal life. The odds of improving your income are improved this month, but you should also take into account the fact that there will be greater expenses related to projects that are slower to develop. You might benefit from a little solitude in order to settle your thoughts and reconnect with yourself. Libra, Venus begins its transit through your skies on August 7th 2018. Despite some amorous aggravation you manage to look on the bright side. And pretend not to notice some burning issues by sweeping them under the rug! Your family’ seem to be meddling in your marriage which isn’t a good thing. These family issues with great impact on your love life become acute after August 13th 2018 solutions might start to come up after August 27th 2018. Many of you experience the satisfaction of having more money than usual this month, which is why you might feel the impulse to spend on luxury items. If you feel fed up with your current workplace you should try to put out feelers in the job market and attempt to do what is really fulfilling for you on a deeper level. You’re full of energy but you might lack a clear aim. Be patient and less impulsive when deciding on what projects.

Scorpio, astrological energies favour changes for the better regarding you relationships and discovering new solutions to older issues that have been affecting your love life this month. Your power of seduction is running high this month. So if you’re single you might be successful if you want to find love. You tend to be defiant at work and undiplomatic you challenge the authority of others particularly during the first week of August 2018. So if you’re not happy with the direction in which your career is going, now you could think about the changes. The last days of August 2018 promise substantial income. Be careful about how you manage it! Your health is giving you slight issue this month you are feeling much more sensitive, predisposed to allergies and colds. Why not take this time to get away take a short break or book yourself a fantastic holiday.

Sagittarians, August 2018 begins turbulently as far as your love life is concerned, with lots of arguments. Misunderstandings related to work, day-to-day responsibilities and all kinds of details. Approach family matters carefully and in a diplomatic way, particularly if there are disputes about rightful ownership and inheritances. During the second half of the month you need to be very careful because affairs you jump in without thinking might end up costing you a lot more than you would have thought possible. As far as professional life and money are concerned, things change for the better. But it may not happen as quickly or as easily as you might have liked. You should be very careful about managing your money and show patience during professional opportunities. Make lists of priorities this month so you won’t waste away your energy. The second half of the month is favourable for good health & feeling full of energy.

An 8-year-old girl asks her father, "Daddy, what is sex?" The father is somewhat surprised that she would ask such a question. But, he reckons if she's old enough to ask the question, then surely she's old enough for a straight answer. So, the father proceeds to tell his young daughter all about the "birds and the bees." After a brief explanation, the little girl appears wide-eyed in disbelief. "By the way, dear, why do you ask?" the father asks. The little girl replies, "Mummy told me to tell you that dinner would be ready in just a couple of secs."

The 8th grade science teacher, Mrs Parks, asked her class, “Which human body part increases to ten times its size when stimulated?” No one answered until little Mary stood up angrily and said, “You should not be asking eighth-graders a question like that! I'm going to tell my parents, and they will go and tell the principal, who will then fire you!” With a sneer on her face, she then sat back down. Mrs Parks ignored her and asked the question again:

“Which body part increases to ten times its size when stimulated?” Little Mary's mouth fell open. She said to those around her, “Boy is she going to get in big trouble!” The teacher continued to ignore her and asked the class, “Anybody?” Finally, Billy stood up, looked around nervously, and replied, 'The pupil of the eye.” “Very good, Billy,” said Mrs Parks. Then, turning to Mary, she said “As for you, young lady, I have three things to say. One, you have a dirty mind. Two, you didn't read your homework. And three, one day you are going to be very, very disappointed.” When a woman found out that she was pregnant, she lit up the phone lines telling everyone the good news. One day later that week, she took her four year old son, Sam, out shopping. A woman asked the boy if he was excited about the baby. “Yes,” he said. “I know what we're going to name it. If it is a girl, we're calling her Molly and if it is a boy, we’re going to call it Quits.”
