Ed’s Note..
Well readers I’ve only gone and done it left everything to the last minute again… I suppose there’s always next year to get organised (maybe I’ll put that one on my New Year resolutions list, which is growing by the day)!! So here we are in the last month of the year and what a year it has been! Quite how we got here so quickly I don’t know, this year truly has flown... Enjoy this Christmas, and remember it isn’t all about the shopping, cooking, stressing yourself out and generally having a nightmare time… Take a step back spend quality time with family and friends! That is for the two hours before they really start annoying you! So with all that said we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal advertisers and readers for your continued support and wish each and everyone of you a very, very Merry Christmas and a Happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. With love from the Costa Link Team xxx

A Woman’s World
A bit of Christmas banter.. ! NEW RESEARCH HAS DISCOVERED...
According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid-December. Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring. Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, EVERY single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen, had to be a girl.
We should have known... ONLY women would be able to drag a fat man in a red velvet suit all around the world in one night and not get lost.
A NEW READ FOR CHRISTMAS...
A man goes into WHSmiths and asks the young lady assistant, "Do you have the new book out for men with short penises?" She replies, "I'm not sure if it's in yet." "That's the one; I'll take a copy…"
AN EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENT FOR GRANDMA...
A man came walking up to the house when he noticed his grandfather sitting on the porch, in the rocking chair, with nothing on from the waist down. "Grandpa, what are you doing?" he exclaimed. The old man looked off in the distance without answering. "Grandpa, what are you doing sitting out here with nothing on below the waist?" he asked again. The old man slowly looked at him and said, "Well, last week I sat out here with no shirt on, and I got a stiff neck. This is your grandma's idea."

ARE THEY OR AREN’T THEY? Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are they engaged or not… The couple are thought to be putting off announcing their engagement publicly because they're busy sorting out their living arrangements. Last month the BBC had been "primed for a royal announcement." The couple are said to be putting off the news while they set up home together. They are planning to purchase a get away property in the Cotswolds - to give them the privacy. It's been reported that the 36-year-old actress has already started unpacking her bags at Harry's royal residence Nottingham Cottage within the grounds of Kensington Palace, having quit her role on Suits and flown into London last month.
HOME FOR CHRISTMAS… Is Katie Price going to reconcile with Kieran
Hayler ? The couple have been plagued by marriage woes following his numerous infidelities. It seems Katie Price is putting the stresses of 2017 behind her, and it looks like she’s giving cheating husband Kieran Hayler another chance. Katie is trying to put the past few months behind her and start 2018 with a clean slate - after being left devastated after one of her beloved horses was killed after being hit by a car last month.
ALREADY MOVED ON… Paul Hollywood already dating a 22-year-old bar-
maid, according to some UK newspapers. Paul, 51, announced last month that he is splitting from his wife of 20 years Alexandra. The Bake Off star apparently met Summer Monteys-Fullam working in his local pub. According to the Sun on Sunday last month, Paul and Summer had a fancy date at the Dorchester hotel in London. A friend says Summer believes the two could become an item in the future. Well it didn’t take him very long to move on did it readers…!

CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER 2018: The Kardashians should beware… CCB’s new series has reportedly already lined up its first star, DRUM ROLL PLEASE it's a big one. The Kardashian family's now-nemesis Blac Chyna is thought to be entering the famous house, according to reports. The American model, real name Angela White, was once close to one of the world's most famous families, but after her brief engagement to Rob, things rapidly turned sour. The 29-year-old former-stripper is currently suing the entire Kardashian family after a tense fallout earlier this year, but the situation has been made even more complicated by her and Rob's daughter Dream. Jamie Dornan star in the last part of the trilogy. After two titiallating teasers the third film in the saga is finally releasing a full trailer. A Christmas Miricle... An Australian, an Irishman and a Glaswegian are in a bar... They're staring at another man sitting on his own at a table in the corner. He's so familiar, and not recognising him is driving them mad. They stare and stare, until suddenly the Irishman twigs: “My God, it's Jesus!” Sure enough, it is Jesus, nursing a pint. Thrilled, they send him over a pint of Guinness, a pint of Fosters and a bottle of Buckfast. Jesus accepts the drinks, smiles over at the three men, and drinks the pints slowly, one after another. After he's finished the drinks, Jesus approaches the trio. He reaches for the hand of the Irishman and shakes it, thanking him for the Guinness. When he lets go, the Irishman gives a cry of amazement: “My God!
The arthritis I've had for 30 years is gone. It's a miracle!” Jesus then shakes the Aussie's hand, thanking him for the lager. As he lets go, the man's eyes widen in shock. “Strewth mate, the bad back I've had all my life is completely gone! It's a miracle.” Jesus then approaches the Glaswegian who knocks over a chair and a table in trying to get away from the Son of God. “What's wrong my son?” says Jesus. The Glaswegian shouts, “You f*** off, I'm on disability benefit!”

The amazing Christmas Parrot... It was Christmas Eve, and a frenzied young man ran into a pet shop looking for an unusual Christmas gift for his wife. The shop owner suggested a parrot, named Chet, which could sing famous Christmas carols. This seemed like the perfect gift. "How do I get him to sing?" The young man asked, excitedly. "Simply hold a lighted match directly under his feet," was the shop owner's reply. The shop owner held a match under the parrot's left foot. Chet began to sing: "Jingle Bells! Jingle Bells! ... " The shop owner then -held another match under the parrot's right foot. Then Chet's tune changed, and the air was filled with "Silent Night, Holy Night..." The young man was so impressed that he paid the shop-keeper and ran home as quickly as he could with Chet under his arm. When the wife saw her gift she was overwhelmed. "How beautiful!" She exclaimed, "Can he talk?" "No," the young man replied, "But he can sing. Let me show you." So the young man whipped out his lighter and placed it under Chet's left foot, as the shop-keeper had shown him, and Chet crooned... "Jingle Bells! Jingle Bells!..." “Jingle The man then moved the lighter to Chet's right Jingle BBells... ells’! foot, and out came: "Silent Night. Holy Night..." The wife, her face filled with curiosity, then asked, "What if we hold the lighter between his legs?" The man did not know. "Let's try it," he answered, eager to please his wife. So they held the lighter between Chet's legs. Chet twisted his face, cleared his throat, and sang out loudly (like it was the performance of his life): "Chet's nuts roasting on an open fire..."

You’re painfully British if... Let's face it, there are certain quirks that only come from growing up in the UK. Whether it's trying to get a BBQ going in a thunderstorm or being addicted to a cuppa... We couldn't help nodding along when we saw these.
• You introduced yourself by beginning with, “I’m sorry.” •You end an email with, “Thanks” as a warning that you are perilously close to losing your cool.
•
It's always time for teatime – You can’t get enough of it Lapsang Souchong, Earl Grey, Darjeeling you’ll even drink builders if all else fails!
•You hate being the center of attention and prefer to keep to yourself.
• You're a tad obsessed with the royal family and can map out their family tree with ease (Mountbatten-Windsor, Windsor’s, Saxe-Coburg etc.…) you see!
“RIGHT’!
•
You didn’t quite catch someone’s name, so you avoid ever talking to them again.
• You see that someone is about to ring your doorbell, so potter around looking busy until it happens.

MEGACITIES
The world's largest cities, called megacities, have more than 10 million residents. As of 2017, there are 40 megacities in existence. Here’s the list from 10 to 1!
AT NUMBER 10... Delhi, India
Urban Area: 21,753,486 million people live here. Population density: 29,298 people per square mile. Delhi is India’s capital it’s a place of striking contrasts. Mosques, bazaars, and narrow lanes mark the old town. New Delhi, the capital, features grand boulevards, business centers, and shopping malls. Urban detail: Twenty languages are spoken in Delhi. The official and most widely spoken language is Hindi, followed by Punjabi. Delhi is the second wealthiest city after Mumbai in India, with a total wealth of $450 billion and home to 18 billionaires and 23,000 millionaires.
AT NUMBER 9... Mexico City, Mexico
Urban Area: 23,614,000 million people live here. Population density: 16,000 people per square mile. Mexico City is ten times the size it was in 1940. The Mexican capital generates a quarter of the country's wealth. However, with low population growth, the number of people in retirement is expected to rise rapidly. Urban Detail: Security, air pollution, and traffic congestion are prime concerns in Mexico City. These problems result from poor resource management and unstructured growth.
AT NUMBER 8... mumbai, India
Urban Area: 23,655,355 million people live here. Population density: 53,000 per square mile. Mumbai–called Bombay until the name was changed in 1995–is the commercial and movie capital of India and has attracted millions of migrants from the countryside. With high birth rates and the continued influx of migrants, Mumbai’s population is expected to grow rapidly in the future. Urban Detail: Over half of the city’s population lives in slums. Poor infrastructure and widespread poverty make it very difficult to meet the demands of an ever-growing population.
AT NUMBER 7... New York, North america
Urban Area: 23,756,354 million people live here. Population density: 28,210 people per square mile. New York City, especially Manhattan, is arguably a role model for balancing urban development with good public transport and access to open spaces. New York is the only American city where most households do not own a car. Urban Detail: New York is one of the biggest gateways to America. Over 170 languages are spoken there today. No single nationality or ethnicity dominates the city’s culturally diverse population.

Plans to move the capital further south have already caused much debate.
AT NUMBER 2... Jarkarta, Indonesia
Urban Area: 31,500,000 million people live here. Population density: 14,464 people per square kilometer. Jakarta has been booming since 2005 after suffering economic crises and disasters like floods and earthquakes in recent decades. Urban Detail: Despite many wide roads, Jakarta suffers from terrible traffic congestion. To reduce traffic jams, some major roads have a 'three in one' rule during rush hours, prohibiting fewer than three passengers per car.
AT NUMBER 1... Tokyo, Japan
Urban Area: 38,800,000 million people live here. Population density: 6,158 people per square kilometer. Greater Tokyo is the largest urban agglomeration in the world, swallowing up the neighboring cities of Yokohama, Kawasaki, and Chiba. Odaiba, an island made from waste, has become one of Tokyo’s most interesting tourist spots and destinations for day trippers.

The machine fuses together thin layers of metal powder with a 1-kilowatt laser and has the potential to build even larger parts, too. A Man’s World
A CHRISTMAS GIFT...
A guy's wife was nagging him hard for a four-wheeler but still he bought her a beautiful extravagant diamond ring for Christmas. The husband's friend was amazed at his decision and asked him in secret, "Why couldn't you buy a car instead of the diamond ring?" The husband smiled and answered, "Fake cars are not easy to find."
WANT WOMEN REALLY WANT!
Oh, sure, women will ‘say’ they want a man who can still view the world with childlike wonder, but watch how quickly they change their tune when you put a small garden snake down their knickers.
WHY CHRISTMAS TREES ARE BETTER THAN A WOMAN…
• Christmas trees don't get really mad if you use exotic electrical devices. • A Christmas tree doesn't care if you have an artificial one in the closet. • A Christmas tree doesn't get mad if you break one of its balls. • You can feel a Christmas tree before you take it home. • A Christmas tree doesn't get mad if you look up underneath it. • When finished with a Christmas tree you can dump it and will have no repercussions. • A Christmas tree doesn't get jealous around other Christmas trees. • A Christmas tree doesn't care if you watch football all day. • A Christmas tree doesn't get angry if you tie it up and throw it in the back of your van.

HANGOVER CURES...
It’s that time of year when we all get a little merry and maybe have a bit more Christmas cheer than is good for us! If you have overdone it at the Christmas do here a few hangover facts and cures…. Splitting headaches, sickness, dizziness, and dehydration: anyone who's ever drunk too much knows the consequences of it. AFTER THE BIG NIGHT...
PAINKILLERS: Your first thought will probably be to reach for some painkillers, and it’s not a bad shout as they will help with your headache – just make sure to pick the right ones. Aspirin will do the trick, but it can wreak havoc if you’ve got a sensitive stomach and leave you feeling sick and worse than you were before. Much safer to just stick to the ibuprofen, but only the recommended dose. Extra tip: If you can manage it get up at around 7am, BEFORE THE BIG NIGHT... drink loads of water, take an Ibuprofen and LINE YOUR STOMACH: You’ve probably heard then go back to sleep. You’ll wake up healed people waffling on about how dangerous it is (kind of)! to go out on an empty stomach, well turns out DRINK MORE WATER: Yeah, we know, this one there’s truth to that. If you eat a greasy meal is getting a bit repetitive now. But seriously, you before you go out the fat will help to line the need to make up for all that water you lost last walls of your stomach, which slows down the night. If you do manage to drag yourself out of rate of alcohol absorption. Drinking a full bed the make sure to take a bottle with you on glass of milk will also have the same effect. your travels. DRINK LOADS OF WATER: Drinking booze can EAT SENSIBLY: Eating, even if it seems like the expel up to four times as much water, which worst idea in the world, is really important for can lead to you getting dehydrated, the main getting you on the road to recovery. You can’t cause of those dreaded hangover headaches eat just anything, but there are a few and dry mouths. options. Depending on how bad you feel, eggs KEEP IT LIGHT: As a rule, there are more con- or a fry up are a great option as they help geners in darker drinks such as red wine, replace fatty acids and break down the alcohol whiskey or navy rum. White wine, vodka and in your liver. If you’re feeling super delicate eatgin on the other hand contain much less, so ing some banana or potatoes in the morning will also help. are a much better idea.
DON’T OVERDO IT ON THE DANCE MOVES: Now we love a good dance but don’t overdo it or you will feel worse in the morning. You’ll end up getting even more dehydrated and depleting your energy levels even faster. No need a to be a party pooper though, just make sure you don’t go too wild.
PACE YOURSELF: Most health organisations think that guys should not drink more that 34 units of booze a day, or 2-3 if you’re a girl. To put this in perspective a small glass of wine is about 1.5 units and a beer somewhere between 2 and 3. It also takes your body around 1 hour to break down 1 unit of alcohol. 48
DON’T START DRINKING AGAIN: Hair of the dog? Forget it! Drinking more might ease your pain for a few hours but it will only make the crash even worse when you get to it. It’s also a slippery slope to constant drinking, which is by no means healthy or desirable.
SLEEP IT OFF: One of the other side effects of drinking is the disruption of your sleep cycle, which is one of the reasons you still feel a bit pants even if you did get a decent amount of sleep. Combat this the only way you know how and just sleep some more. If you’re not going to be productive anyway, you might as well focus on getting right as rain.

NUT OILS...
Admittedly, these don't look very appetizing, with a lumpy exterior that resembles burnt charcoal. But these powerful fungi are high in fiber, which makes them fantastic for regulating the digestive system, while its antiinflammatory properties can also help soothe any inflammation in the bowels. The high level of antioxidants is another impressive superfood quality of the chaga, with further studies showing that it supports the immune system by increasing the production of certain immune cells.
Nut butters exploded into the mainstream last year, with many choosing to give up animal products in favor of a plant-based diet. Following suit, nut oils are the new breed of superfood cooking essentials, with cold-pressed almond, cashew, walnut, and hazelnut oils set to be a healthier alternative to the average olive, vegetable, or sunflower varieties. PROBIOTIC WATERS...
2016 was the year where probiotics really started making their way into the mainstream rather than being purely something health-conscious individuals kept a secret. They'd not only crop up in supplements, but also in chocolate and yogurts too. Making it even easier for us to boost our gut flora and maintain a healthy digestive system, gut-friendly waters will soon be in our refrigerators. Why eat your probiotics when you can drink them, hey?
WATERMELON SEEDS...
Taking over from chia, pumpkin, and sesame, watermelon seeds will soon be the new buzz word among superfood fanatics. To enjoy the full goodness, they need to be sprouted and shelled before consumption. But it's worth the hassle — a one cup serving contains 31 grams of protein and is also a fantastic source of magnesium, vitamin B, and both monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats.
CASSAVA FLOUR...
Move over buckwheat and coconut flour! Used traditionally in Bali and South Asia. It’s paleo-friendly, veganfriendly, and nut-free, too. It's not necessarily a superfood in the sense that it doesn't offer an overwhelming amount of nutritional benefit that we couldn't get elsewhere. With none of the worries about bloating or IBS irritation that traditional gluten-based flours can cause.

THE 2017 TOKYO MOTOR SHOW
The Tokyo Motor Show is always a great place for innovation as well as a view of what is coming soon. There are no plans for any of these to go into production, but we are sure they will! Honda revealed the new Sport EV showing designs similar the classic S800 coupe with wide rear haunches, a short rear deck and a comparatively long bonnet. Honda has a lot of heritage to draw upon, and its designers appear to be exploiting that. Most cars claim to be inspired by aviation or wild cats, but Toyota have produced a car inspired by a toolbox! The TJ’s wheelsat-the corners stance, bluff nose, blistered arches; flat screen and ribbed bonnet are perfect, as are the fold-flat seats. Subaru say that the Viziv Performance Concept is not previewing the next WRX, but in reality we all know it is. It owes an awful lot to what’s gone before, but who’s to knock flared wheel arches and a bonnet scoop? Daihatsu offered a complete range of 5 Kei cars, micro cars with 600 cc engines for overcrowded Tokyo roads. The retro looking DN Compagno is a nod to the 1963 Car of the same name. The Suzuki e-Survivor has an electric motor inside each wheel and ultra-high ground clearance; it also looks like it could be an awful lot of fun to drive (even if you might look a bit daft doing so).

INVENTORS KILLED BY THEIR INVENTIONS CONTINUED... • Marie Curie: She was the first person to win the Nobel Prize twice. The renowned physicist and chemist had exposure to ionizing radiations for a prolonged time as her experiments involved materials like radium which exhibits radioactive properties. Back then, the harmful effects of the radioactive emissions were not known. Curie was diagnosed with aplastic anemia which was the cause of her death. Her personal possessions were exposed to the radiation her century-old notebook has been preserved in a lead-lined box. • Francis Edgar Stanley: Invented the Steam Engine based car and manufactured it with his twin brother Freelan O. Stanley in 1897. With a speed of 27 miles per hour, the Stanley Steamer set a top-speed record and was the only car to make it to the top of the test hill.
They established Stanley Motor Carriage Company. In 1906, they broke the world record for the fastest mile with a speed of 127 miles per hour (205 kph) in just 28.2 seconds. Later, on July 31st, 1918, Francis crashed into a woodpile while driving a Stanley Steamer and trying to maintain a distance from a farm wagon traveling alongside his car. • Franz Reichelt: A tailor by profession, this French inventor used to devote all his free time in designing and developing a parachute suit design. The Flying tailor jumped off the Eiffel Tower wearing his self-made parachute, while he was expected to use a counterfeit for the demo. As he jumped off the Eiffel tower in the parachute suit from 187foot fall, he died instantly as he hit the frozen land. Later an autopsy determined that he died of a heart attack during his fall.

The Tale of Woe...
An MP, a clergyman and a boy scout were passengers on a small plane that developed engine trouble. The pilot announced, “We’ll have to jump out.” Unfortunately, there were only three parachutes.
The pilot said, “I have a wife and seven small children. My family
needs me. I’m taking one of the parachutes and jumping out!” And he jumped…
Then the MP said, “I am the smartest politician in the
world. The country needs me. I’m taking one of the parachute.” And he jumped.
“HELP! ”
The clergyman said to the Boy Scout,
“I’ve had a good life and yours is still ahead of you. You take the last parachute.” The boy shrugged and said...
“It’s OK. Their are two parachutes left. The smartest politician in the world just jumped out of the plane wearing my backpack!”

Capricorn, the first two weeks of December are shall we say a little boring with regards to your love life. You might be frustrated, or maybe nothing major happens or you delight in a secret love. If this is the case, be very careful about how discreet you are! On December 25th 2017 Venus enters your sign so the year ends in an atmosphere full of love and lots of promises if you are single and 2018 starts in a good way. With Mars and Jupiter in your sign you are getting worked up over a group project or new assignment at work. This is a great term for coming up with strategies for the future. The last week of December finds you well prepared and sure that next year will be a lot more productive. If you have the time stay at with your family, and old friends make the most of the holidays. Aquarius, Venus and the get cosy with Saturn this month a week later Mercury and the Sun, join the party but they are retrograde motion. These configurations mean that you seem to get really close to happiness. But for now you can’t fully grab it with both hands. Something seems to slip through your fingers, the feeling that you are not 100% complete. Things aren’t yet that clear, and the outcome is coming in the New Year. On the work front you’re going full-speed-ahead, it’s as if you want to solve everything by the end of the year. And solve it you will! Don’t try and bulldozer through everything though, you shouldn’t try to force your views on others, because it won’t work. You can expect to be in excellent shape throughout December, you feel comfortable in your own skin and you thoroughly intend to enjoy the party over the festive period! Pisces, a retrograde occurs in your sign this month from December 3rd to the 23rd, this suggests some interference between personal ties and career, or a set of circumstances that makes your love life become public knowledge. Things related to your love life can become complicated or unexpected during the end of the year, but you’ll also end the year on a high. During December 2017, The Sun, Venus, and Mercury seem to be very interested in your professional life. The Sun wants you in the spotlight Venus smooth’s your way there, and brings luck or the right connections your way. In turn, will give you a much clearer picture of your professional goals and strategies. Drink an extra glass of champagne! For you, 2018 stars much better than 2017 did: you get rid of Saturn’s negative influence and enjoy the positive influence of Jupiter bringing with it lots of luck! Aries, during the first week of December 2017, Mars is focusing your attention on love or marriage, as the case may be, and pushing you to take significant action or a stand. There is a strong conjunction between Venus and Mercury this month, which strengthens the above-mentioned predispositions bringing back a matter that you were concerned with last spring. Towards the end of the month things change tune and you feel happy in your surroundings again. This month will bring a significant professional event: Saturn enters sign where it will stay for about three years. We’re talking about significant years, during which – if you have a clear purpose, good strategy you could set yourself up for life. Initiative when it comes to money becomes livelier beginning with the second week of the month. The Sun and another three planets form a favorable aspect this month boosting your equilibrium & stamina.
Taurus, in terms of your love life, December 2017 is a hot and very active, sometimes even stormy month. Mars and Jupiter are situated in your sign and have intense and passionate reactions; your temper flares up easily. If you have a passionate nature, it would be better to simmer down some, not to make rash decisions, and keep your jealousy in check. If you are more, shy or introverted by nature, Mars and Jupiter work in your favour: they give you courage, help you express yourself steer things in the direction you desire. The Sun, Venus, Saturn & Mercury create complicated or unexpected evolutions this month on the work front, but these complications will be full of lessons. Collaborations are productive throughout the month, but they need to be approached in a diplomatic way. During December you fuss too much over others and tend to neglect yourself. You need to be balanced & try to relax when you can.
Gemini, its all looking good for a Christmas romance, things are hotting up on the LOVE front this month so you can expect some relevant events to take place this December 2017. Mercury makes a conjunction with Saturn and another one with Venus, and where it’s retrograde during December 3rd23rd. This configuration emphasizes the importance of love or marriage in your life and speaks of circumstances that can lead to you making decisions in regard to responsibilities. December 2017 is full of dynamism when it comes to your professional life. Engines go full speed ahead, your efficiency is at its best, and results aren’t late to show. In regard to money, after December 20 2017 you enter a new cycle that will last for about three years. Don’t rush to judge! Things aren’t always, as they seem. Your energy is moody, your body needs to keep a certain balance in order to function up to your standards.

A budding young actor was very put out when he wasn’t picked to be Joseph in his school play. However he was asked to be Innkeeper No. 1 in an effort to keep him quiet, or so his teacher thought! When Mary & Joseph approached him to ask if there was any room at the inn, he replied: “Yes, come right in! We have a lovely room overlooking the pool!” How do snowmen get around? On their icicles. A magician was working on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. The audience was new each week, so he always did the same tricks. The problem was, the captains pet parrot saw all the shows and began to understand how the magician did every trick. It started squawking in the middle of the show, “look, it’s not the same hat! Look, he’s hiding the flowers under the table! Hey, why are all the cards the ace of spades?” The magician was furious but, as it was the captain’s parrot, there wasn’t much he could do about it. Then, one day, the cruise ship ran aground and sank. The magician found himself cast adrift on a piece of wood with the parrot. They glared at each other but said nothing. Finally, after a week, the parrot said… “OK, I give up. Where’s the boat?”
