A Woman’s World

AGING mINd over mAtter!

If my body were a car, I would be trading it in for a newer model. I’ve got bumps; dents, scratches and my headlights are out of focus. My gearbox is seizing up and it takes me hours to reach maximum speed. I overheat for no reason and every time I sneeze, cough or laugh either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires!

SometHING to trY At Home (or mAYbe Not)!!!

Fred and Fiona were making passionate love in Fred's Transit van when suddenly Fiona (being a bit on the kinky side) yells out: "Oh, fat boy, whip me, whip me!" Fred, not wanting to pass up this unique opportunity, obviously did not have any whips to hand, but in a flash of inspiration, opened the window, snaps the antenna off his van and proceeds to whip Fiona until they both collapse in sado-masochistic ecstasy. About a week later, Fiona notices that the marks left by the whipping session are not healing and starting to fester a bit so she goes to the doctor. The doctor takes one look at the wounds and asks: "Did you get these marks having sex?" Fiona a little too embarrassed that she had even slept with Fred let alone allowed him to indulge in her own kinky desires, eventually admits that, "Yes, I did." Nodding his head knowingly, the doctor exclaims: "I thought so, because in all my years

as a doctor, you've got the worst case of van-aerial disease that I've ever seen."

TOWIE TURNS 10!

THE ANNIVERSARY SERIES WILL AIR THIS AUTUMN... Have you been missing that special someone

in Essex? Then you’ll be in luck as favourite cast members from across the series are reuniting for a special anniversary later this year. Announced via Instagram last month, a statement read: "The Only Way is Essex is returning to @itvbe to celebrate its 10-year anniversary series! "It's time for another visit for a gossip and glamour with surprise visits from some of our favourite TOWIE faces from the past decade, who are returning to our screens to join in the celebrations of this anniversary series." It's unknown exactly which stars will be jumping back onboard, but expect some more updates as the year progresses.”

Mark Wright and Lauren Goodger... When it comes to iconic TV romances, Essex’s original “It couple” are up there in the big leagues. And while they’re stormy relationship crashed and burned years ago, it still remains one of the biggest storylines in TOWIE history. We wonder if Mark, Michelle and Lauren will all appear? Then we have Joey Essex, Amy Childs, Sam Faiers and Kirk Norcross were just some of the big names producers would love to get on board for the anniversary series.

WHAT HAPPENS IN ESSEX, WON'T STAY IN ESSEX! The Only Way is Essex airs on ITVBe later this year....

TV & CELEBRITY GOSSIP...

A NEW STRICTLY COME DANCING JUDGE: Cheryl Cole is tipped

to replace Bruno Tonioli as Strictly Come Dancing judge. Bruno may not be able to judge due to travel restrictions. As he is also a judge on the American version of the show, Dancing With The Stars, it is unclear whether Bruno will be able to travel freely between the two countries due to travel restrictions following the coronavirus outbreak. It is now believed that 36 year old Cheryl could take his place alongside Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas and Motsi Mabuse on the panel for the first few weeks of the series. The series is set to look a little different this year due to the social distandacing.

MEGHAN MARKLE'S FURY AT B-LIST MOVIE ROLES: Don’t you know who I am? Before marrying Harry, Meghan was fairly well-known in TV and film, but a lot can change in four years, and she’s now one of the most famous women in the world, with a royal husband and a passion for charity work. Unfortunately, she hasn’t quite had the Oscar-worthy offers she was hoping for and now she’s calling in favours to launch her into the big leagues. Meghan thinks the Hollywood bigwigs should be fighting over themselves to sign her up for their latest TV and film projects. Watch this space! LISA ARMSTRONG’S NEW TV SHOW: Lisa is considering featuring Hurley in a TV special about how dogs can help their owners get over trauma, and it seems Ant and Anne-Marie are not very happy about it. Ant is worried that Lisa is going to use it as an excuse to talk about their divorce ordeal. But she won’t be silenced because of what Ant wants.

A WEE SNEAKY PEAK...

A Scottish couple took in an 18-year-old girl as a lodger. When she asked if she could have a bath the lady of the house told her they didn't have a bath, although if she wanted to she could use a tin wash tub in front of the fire.

"Monday's the best night because my husband goes out to darts," she said. The girl agreed to have a bath the following Monday.

After her husband had gone to the pub for his darts match, the woman filled the bath and watched the girl get undressed. She was surprised to see that the lass didn't have any pubic hair. She mentioned this to her husband when he came home. He didn't believe her, so she said: "Next Monday, when you go to darts, leave a little early and wait in the back garden. I'll leave a gap in the curtains so you can see for yourself." So the following Monday, while the girl again got undressed, the wife asked: "Do you shave?""No," replied the girl. "I've just never grown any pubic hair. I take it you have?" "Oh, yes," said the woman, and she pulled up her night dress and showed the girl that she possessed a generously endowed pelt.....very generous indeed! The girl finished her bath and went to bed.Later that night, when the husband came in, the wife asked him, "Did you see it?"

"Yes," he said, "but why the hell did you have to show her yours?" "Why ever are you worried about that?" she said. "You've seen it often enough before." "I know," he said, "but the dart team hadn't."

8 BIZARRE EATING HABITS

If you are what you eat, you may be shocked by what people consume because of their bizarre eating habits and disorders. Check out the list!

SO, WHAT’S FOR DINNER TONIGHT?

XYLOPHAGIA - EATING WOOD

People with xilophagia like to eat things like paper, pencils, tree bark or other items made of wood.

TRICHOPHAGIA - EATING HAIR

The person eating hair, usually their own; primarily after pulling it out. Most often, hair is pulled out and then the ends of the root bulb are eaten, or occasionally the hair shaft itself. In 2007 an 18 year old girl suffering from trichophagia was found with a 10-pound hairball in her stomach. Cats around the world were flabbergasted.

HYALOPHAGIA - EATING GLASS

Very dangerous for obvious reasons. Sharp glass + soft tissue = pain and injury! Please DO NOT TRY this at home (or anywhere).

UROPHAGIA - CONSUMING URINE (PEE)

Believe it or not, consuming one’s own pee (or the pee of a healthy person) is relatively low in risk, albeit utterly disgusting. In Euro-American culture, these practices are known as urine therapy, a form of alternative medicine. Also, some people consume urine as a sexual activity, and members of at least one culture consume urine for ceremonial purposes.

8 BIZARRE EATING HABITS Geophagy - EATING DIRT

Continued... mmmmmm, i fancy, oh, me tonight...

Cooked, baked, and processed dirt and clay are sold in health food stores. Some pregnant women eat chalk to eliminate nausea and to get extra calcium. It also occurs in animals where it may be a normal or abnormal behaviour. MMMMMMMM, mud!

cannibalism - EATING HUMAN FLESH

The Korowai, also called the Kolufo, are a people of southeastern Papua (i.e., the southeastern part of the western part of Indonesian New Guinea). They number about 3000 and are one of very few tribes still believed to eat human flesh as a cultural practice.

auto-cannibalism - EATING ONESELF

Also called self-cannibalism. On January 13th, 2007, Marco Evaristti, a Danish artist, served pasta that was topped with a meatball made with his own fat. I find myself without both words or an appetite.

Coprophagia - EATING FECES (POO)

This is very rare, and only seen on some cases of extreme mental disorders. Centuries ago, however, physicians used to taste their patients’ feces, to better judge their state and condition. True, but why? Really.

KILLER INSTINCT

World’s deadliest animals ranked by number of humans killed. CREATURES like sharks and spiders are feared by many but they don't actually top the list of the deadliest animals in the world.

15) Sharks 6 deaths a year: Thanks to the classic film Jaws, lots of people fear sharks. Although the predators are pretty deadly they don't actually kill as many people as you would think. In 2014, there were only three human deaths from shark attacks and in 2015 there were six. This is thought to be the average number a year.

13) LIONS 22 deaths a year: It's difficult to get a definite number for lion deaths and estimates vary from year-to-year. A 2005 study found that since 1990, lions had killed 563 people in Tanzania alone, an average of around 22 a year. More deaths are likely to have happened in other parts of Africa.

14) WOLVES 10 deaths a year:

phants are killed by people than the creatures killing humans. However, attacks and accidents do still occur.

Wolf attacks aren't common but they still occur enough to make it onto the list. Very few happen a year but during the last two decades wolves have killed people in India so the numbers have gone up.

12) ELEPHANTS 500 deaths a year: Far more ele-

11) HIPPOS 500 deaths a year: Hippos are often considered one of the most deadly animals in Africa. They are known for being aggressive towards humans and sometimes tip boats over using their massive bulk which can be up to 9,000lbs. With sharp teeth and powerful jaws they have the ability to crush a human to death. continued on page 32

KILLER INSTINCT

4) DOGS 35.000 deaths a year: Specifically dogs infected by the rabies virus are one of the deadliest animals out there, though the virus can be prevented using vaccines. About 35,000 deaths can be attributed to rabies, and of those cases, 99% are caused by dogs.

3) SNAKES 100.000 deaths a year: Snake bites kill more than 100,000 people a year as of 2015. Worse still, there's a troubling shortage of an essential antivenom.

2) HUMANS 437.000 deaths a year: According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, there were about 437,000 homicides in 2012, making humans the second most deadly animal (and the deadliest mammal) to humans. Tijuana, Mexico, is the most murderous city in the world per capita. Then Cape Town in South Africa, is the most murderous city in the world by death toll. We are not quite our own worst enemy - but we're pretty close.

1) Mosquitoes 750.000 deaths a year: Mosquitoes the pesky bugs that suck blood and transmit viruses from person to person are responsible for the most animal-related deaths. Malaria by itself is responsible for more than half of mosquito-related deaths, predominantly in sub-Saharan Africa, though it's on the decline: The incidence of malaria fell by 37% between 2000 and 2015, according to the World Health Organisation. Dengue fever, another mosquito-borne disease, has become a leading cause of hospitalisation and death among children in some Asian and Latin-American countries.

A married man goes to confessional and tells the priest... "I had an affair with a woman - almost." The priest says, "What do you mean, 'almost'?" The man says, "Well, we got undressed and rubbed together a bit, but then I stopped." The priest replies, "Rubbing together is the same as putting it in. You're not to go near that woman again.” Now, say five Hail Mary's and put €50 in the box for the poor." The man leaves confessional, goes over and says his prayers, then walks over to the box for the poor. He pauses for a moment and then starts to leave. The priest, who was watching him, quickly runs over to him and says, "I saw that. You didn't put any money in the box for the poor!" The man replied, "Well, Father, I rubbed up against it and you said it was the same as putting it in!"

A Man’s World

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY... A married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing! Six retired Irishmen were playing poker... In Monaghan's flat in Dungarvan when Sean O'Toole loses €700 on a single hand, clutches his chest and drops dead at the table. Showing respect for their fallen brother, the other five continue playing standing up. Michael Lennon looks around and asks, “Oh, me boys, someone's got to tell Sean's wife. Who will it be?” They draw straws. Cavan Colquhoun picks the short one. They tell him to be discreet and gentle and not to make a bad situation any worse. “Discreet? I'm the most discreet Irishmen you'll ever meet. Discretion is my middle name. Leave it to me”, announces Cavan. He goes over to O'Toole's house and knocks on the door. Brenda O'Toole answers and asks what he wants. Cavan declares: “Your husband just lost €700 and is afraid to come home.” “Tell him to drop dead!” snarls Brenda. “I'll go tell him.” says Cavan.

MEDICAL MAYHEM

During his annual check up examination, a doctor asked a man about his physical activity level... The man described a typical day this way: "Well, yesterday afternoon, I took a five hour walk, about 7km through some pretty rough terrain. I waded along the edge of a lake. I pushed my way through brambles. I got sand in my shoes and my eyes. I narrowly avoided standing on a snake. I climbed several rocky hills and fell in a sand pit. I took a few 'leaks' behind some big trees and the mental stress of it all left me shattered. So at the end of it all I drank six beers" Inspired by the story, the doctor said, "Wow, You must be one hell of an outdoors man!" "No," replied the man, "No, I'm just a bloody awful golfer".... A cardiac specialist died and at his funeral the coffin was placed in front of a huge mock up of a heart made up of flowers. When the pastor finished with the sermon and eulogy, and after everyone said their good-byes, the heart opened, the coffin rolled inside and the heart closed. Just then one of the mourners burst into laughter. The guy next to him asked: "Why are you laughing?" "I was thinking about my own funeral" the man replied. "What's so funny about that? Asked the second man to which the first man replied "I'm a gynecologist."

SAY GOODBYE TO GETTING OLD!

AGE CAN BE JUST A NUMBER IF YOU FOLLOW THE BRILLIANTLY SIMPLE LIFE ADVICE BELOW...

AGE REALLY IS JUST A NUMBER:

So how is it that we all know some people who seem ‘old’ beyond their years — yet others seem to have a Dorian Gray-style portrait in the attic and barely age at all? After all, there’s no denying that the ageing process exists. For most of us, it actually starts in our late 20s, after our initial burst of growth and development. Once we peak, we must all face a very gradual physical decline.

First, let’s start by addressing how you feel about your true age, whatever it may be. Do you tend to scoff when others tell you: ‘you’re only as old as you feel’? Well, you may have to think again. Because one important element which can make us seem and feel much older than we really are is the social and psychological effect of passing a landmark birthday, such as your 60th or 70th. Some people seem to crumple and give up.

BOOST YOUR ENERGY LEVELS, IF YOU ARE OVERWEIGHT BE HONEST AND ADDRESS THE ISSUE:

Your metabolism is the rate at which the body’s energy — from food and oxygen — is produced and used, and it is true that it slows a bit as we grow older. To know whether or not you need to lose weight, look in a mirror and BE HONEST! Some people are fortunate and lose weight after retirement as they are no longer tied to desk work, or hours of commuting by car or train, but others may find the pounds start to pile on. As a general rule, remember your weight at the age of 30 and aim for that as your target.

NO EXCUSES FOR NOT STARTING NOW...

Let’s imagine you’re in your 50s or 60s and feel perfectly OK. Even if you develop some long-term condition, fitness remains crucial because disease may reduce your ability to remain as active as you were before.

THE THREE GOLDEN RULES:

No matter what age you are, it’s seldom too late to start regaining some of your youthful energy, strength, flexibility and appearance. There are three crucial elements that will increase your chances of having a relatively trouble-free and independent old age. • You have to become fitter — even if you already have one or more long-term conditions. • You must actively reduce your risk of developing disease • You need to adopt a positive attitude to life, its problems and opportunities.

A few age related facts you may not expect! •Optimists DO live longer: Looking on the bright side of life increases your life span. •Walk 20 minutes a day to live longer: Huge study reveals the benefits of a brisk walk. •How a couple of glasses of red could help you live longer: Substance found in grapes can protect against age-related diseases.

ARE YOU HAVING A PANIC ATTACK?

Panic Attack Symptoms:

Panic attacks involve sudden feelings of terror that strike without warning. These episodes can occur at any time, even during sleep. People experiencing a panic attack may believe they are having a heart attack or they are dying or going crazy. The fear and terror that a person experiences during a panic attack are not in proportion to the true situation and may be unrelated to what is happening around them. Most people with panic attacks experience several of the following symptoms:

•"Racing" heart •Feeling weak, faint, or dizzy •Tingling or numbness in the hands & fingers •Sense of terror, or impending doom or death •Feeling sweaty or having chills •Chest pains •Breathing difficulties •Feeling a loss of control

PANIC ATTACKS ARE GENERALLY BRIEF, LASTING LESS THAN 10 MINUTES...

Though some of the symptoms may persist for a longer time. People who have had one panic attack are at greater risk for having subsequent panic attacks than those who have never experienced a panic attack. When the attacks occur repeatedly, and there is worry about having more episodes, a person is considered to have a condition known as panic disorder.

People with panic disorder may be extremely anxious and fearful, since they are unable to predict when the next episode will occur. Panic disorder is fairly common and affects about 6 million adults in the U.S. Women are twice as likely as men to develop the condition, and its symptoms usually begin in early adulthood.

It is not clear what causes panic disorder. In many people who have the biological vulnerability to panic attacks, they may develop in association with major life changes (such as getting married, having a child, starting a first job, etc.) and major lifestyle stressors. There is also some evidence

50

that suggests that the tendency to develop panic disorder may run in families. People who suffer from panic disorder are also more likely than others to suffer from depression, attempt suicide, or to abuse alcohol or drugs.

Fortunately, panic disorder is a treatable condition. Psychotherapy and medications have both been used, either singly or in combination, for successful treatment of panic disorder. If medication is necessary, your doctor may prescribe anti-anxiety medications, certain antidepressants or sometimes certain anticonvulsant drugs that also have anti-anxiety properties, or a class of heart medications known as beta-blockers to help prevent or control the episodes in panic disorder.

In 1951, the US Department of Energy began testing nuclear ordinances just 65 miles from the city of Las Vegas. At night, the glow of the bombs lit up the sky, and mushroom clouds could be spotted rising over the horizon during the day. Atomic tourism drew people from all over to see these devices of ultimate destruction. Mushroom clouds showed up on billboards, in hairstyles, and even costumes. There was literal pageantry as Las Vegas named the official “Miss Atomic Bomb”. Tests continued in the Nevada Desert until 1963, when the US signed a ban on above-ground testing. Despite the ban, over 900 bombs were tested outside the city between 1951 and 1992. Ironically, all this spectacle and fascination was embedded

in the midst of crippling worry over nuclear doomsday. During the same time, children were being told to hide under their desks in preparation for a nuclear attack. Schools even issued dog tags to children so they could be identified in case of an accident at the testing facility. While the Vegas economy exploded with the bombs, so did concerns about dangerous radiation exposure. Soldiers viewing nuclear bombs showed significantly higher risks of cancer and a high chance of deformity in offspring, but military officials at the time said that residents of Las Vegas could just have a shower if they were exposed (OMG)...

STICKY CHERRY BAKEWELL BUNS Cherry bakewell buns to share with friends over a cuppa. These easy, sticky treats are bursting with sweet raspberry jam!

Ingredients:

• 500g pack white bread mix •100g golden caster sugar •200-250ml warm milk •50g salted butter, melted •1 medium egg, lightly beaten •3 tsp almond essence

Method:

1) Combine the bread mix and caster sugar in a large bowl. Make a well in the centre and pour in 200ml of the milk, the melted butter, egg and half of the almond essence, then mix together swiftly with a wooden spoon. If it feels a little dry, add a dash more milk. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5-10 mins until you have a dough that is smooth and springy. Put the dough in a large, lightly oiled mixing bowl, then cover and leave in a warm place for 1½2 hrs, or until doubled in size. 2) Mix the raspberry jam and remaining almond essence together in a small bowl. Tip the dough out of its bowl onto a lightly floured surface and knock it back (gently kneading it a few times to expel the air). Split the dough into 12 equal-sized pieces, then

•Plain flour, for dusting •A little oil, for proving •180g raspberry jam •250g icing sugar •12 glacé cherries •30g flaked almonds, toasted (optional)

shape each one into a round and roll out to a diameter of about 10cm. Drop a level tsp of the jam into the centre of each round and fold in the ends to cover the jam so that it’s in the centre of the bun. Pinch the ends tightly together to seal. Arrange nine of the buns, pinched-side down, on a lined baking sheet in a circle. Place the remaining three in the centre, leaving a little space between each one so they can spread out. Cover loosely and leave for 1 hr more to double in size. 3) Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/ gas 6. Bake for 20-25 mins in the centre of the oven until golden brown, then remove from the oven and leave to cool completely on the baking sheet. 4) Mix the icing sugar and 3 tbsp water together to create a thick, glossy icing. Spread the icing over the buns and top each one with a glacé cherry, then sprinkle over the almonds. Leave the icing to set for at least 10 mins.

HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY RANGE ROVER

Range Rover was 50 years old last month, and as they really are very first luxury SUV! They are celebrating in style launching a new limited edition Rangie. Land Rover will build 1,970 examples of the ‘Fifty’, which is based on the regular Range Rover Autobiography. Available in either standardor long-wheelbase form with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrains, it gets special 22-inch wheels and LOTS of ‘Fifty’ badges. They are taking a step back in time with the colour of the new vehicles 60’s & 70” shades such as: “Davos White”, “Bahama Gold” and “Tuscan Blue”. Development of the original Range Rover began in the late-Sixties. Early prototypes famously wore ‘Velar’ badges to mask their true identity.

Following its launch in 1970 the Range Rover became the first car to be displayed at the Louvre in Paris as an “exemplary work of industrial design” then in 1972 became the first vehicle to cross the length of the Americas, including the notoriously inhospitable Darien Gap.

In 1977 the Rangie won the 18,750-mile London-Sydney Marathon, then in 1979 it won the first ever Paris-Dakar rally. In 1981 the four-door was launched, and soon after Land Rover began adding luxuries such as automatic transmissions.

The diesel arrived in 1986, in 1987 the Rangie was launched in the States. The second-gen Rangie arrived in 1994, but the original remained in production until 1996. Then came the third-generation in 2001, the Range Rover Sport in 2005 and the Evoque in 2010. The current model was launched in 2012, meaning an all-new Rangie is due in the not-too distant future. 60

Capricorn, do you have any unfinished business to take care of this year? Is something keeping your finances or your work stuck at a plateau you can’t seem to break? Get ready for a final chance to fix something that has kept you from moving forward but be prepared to do the work when it shows up. Saturn, your ruler, is giving you another chance to work through a block you keep facing. Just know that you’re going to have to get out of your comfort zone in order to grow beyond it. The current Saturn retrograde is helping you to get clearer about the patterns that you’ll need to break if you want to get to the next level. It might not be easy, but the change will be worth it. Identify one habit or pattern you have with work or money that has you going around in circles. Come up with one thing you can do this month to begin to break that cycle. Aquarius, you’ve been feeling a lot of pressure lately that has made you doubt yourself and question your abilities. Thankfully, that pressure starts to ease in July and you’ll be given a clearer view of the actual progress you’re making this year. Even though it might not feel like you’re gaining the momentum you want right now, things are taking shape. Just because you can’t always see progress doesn’t mean nothing is happening. Part of the reason why your own self-perception is off is because you need a break. You’ve been putting in a lot of time and energy to stay the course: Don’t lose sight of that. Cut yourself some slack this month and ease up on the expectations you’re holding yourself to right now, mentally and physically. Clear your head. Set aside some time each morning for “you time” twenty minutes, or take a walk outside before you start your day. Pieces, how do you value your creative self? You are the poet of the zodiac, here to weave beautiful ideas together in dreamy new ways. But you have trouble connecting with your creative side sometimes. Your compassion can make you feel guilty for taking time to focus on your own interests. The recent Venus retrograde, which lasted from May 13th to June 25th, may have brought up a deeper longing for you to get back into your own personal pursuits. You might be heading into July with inspiration high on your priority list, and now is the time to integrate ways in which you want to make more space in your life for your inner artist to come through. The skies are indicating that something is sucking up a little more energy than is necessary, and you can reclaim that time back for yourself. Aries, your energy has been up and down for months now. Sometimes you’ve been feeling all the feelings, and other times you’ve been so frazzled that you haven’t had a chance to stop and reflect on it all. The push and pull cycle you’ve been moving through you sign since the spring and is finally winding down, and not a moment too soon for you. On June 29th, Mars, your ruler, comes home to your sign and stays there until early 2021. This is a time to activate your superpowers, get back to yourself and begin a new chapter. Your priorities have become a lot clearer over the past couple of years, and the work you’ve put into yourself in that time is going to play a major role in the steps you take next. Get ready for a new set of adventures just don’t forget you’re the one who gets to decide where those might lead. Think of one thing you over the next five years and then make it happen.

Taurus, you are inspired to find more ways to use your voice and lend your energy and talents to the things that matter most to you. June brought some eye-opening experiences for you that have fundamentally shifted your perspective. You have so much in you and the world is ready for your brand of guidance, wisdom, and advice. Don’t feel you need to fit someone else’s idea of what personal expression has to be, or to move at a breakneck pace you’re not ready for. Follow what’s calling you. Those ideas and inspirations that have made their way into your mind and heart are there for a reason. They deserve your attention, and it’s time to find out why. Set aside some time to brainstorm this month, see that your thoughts reflect the direction you’re ready to go in. Gemini, July asks you to scale back on the expectations you place on yourself. This month, you’re prone to putting too much pressure on yourself to be everything to everyone. Boundaries can get blurred and you might end up feeling like some friends, clients or colleagues are taking advantage of your generous nature. It’s one thing to be flexible and helpful, but it’s another to be taken advantage of altogether. This month, the stars are encouraging you to look deeply at where some of your boundaries are getting crossed. It’s OK to draw new lines if you don’t have anything more to give, or to remind someone of a boundary they have crossed. You will feel so much better once you clear the air, and those who support you will appreciate your honesty.

Cancer, fresh courage is stirring within you this month. You’ve been re-evaluating your priorities and you’re starting to see what you need to protect for yourself be it time, integrity, or selfworth. Something is lighting a fire within you, giving you the confidence to vocalise your values and ask for what it is you need. The full moon and lunar eclipse in Capricorn on Sunday, July 5th triggers an important detail in your current story. Think back to what started to unfold for you in 2018 when this eclipse series began and how far you have come since then. The next six months will reveal more of where these changes are taking you. This has been a major period of growing up for you and payoff is around the corner. Why do you always short-change yourself? Look at one area in your life where you are compromising in a way that makes you feel undervalued.

Leo, you’re feeling reflective and quiet these days. July is a time for you to focus on deeper connections with your friends and family even if those connections are still happening by distance. You’re craving slower days and time offline this month. While some parts of the world might be getting busier with their re-opening plans, you’re feeling quite comfortable staying in your little corner of the world. Solo time and deep, one-on-one conversations with old friends are what your soul is craving right now. Don’t pressure yourself to rush back into anything just yet. This is your time to take it slow. Let life be calm. Leave space on your schedule for pure quiet time without any distractions: Turn off your phone and go for a long walk, read a book or pull out a sketch pad and doodle.

Virgo, who is in your life and why? This spring’s Venus retrograde, from May 13th to June 25th, has had you reassessing your personal and professional relationships. This time might have opened your eyes to show who’s really got your back and who you really want to have in your corner. You might be realising that your social circle is due for some change as you’re starting to see that your values and expectations have grown over time. What was important to you last year might not mean so much now and that’s OK. This month is going to help you see how you can integrate the new awareness you’ve attained in recent months. Your deepest bonds are about to get even closer, and the relationships you’ve outgrown can make a graceful, mature exit. Focus on those who are there for you, Virgo. Ask yourself: What can I do to show my favourite people how much I care about them? Libra, July is your time to get behind the scenes of an important plan or project and make some magic happen. There’s an area of your life that is feeling old, stale and irrelevant to who you are now, and this is the time to make the necessary tweaks in order to get everything up to date. Whether you need to revamp your career, July is all about change, change, change. Especially if you feel like the momentum in your life is stalling. Tackle whatever is feeling stuck by saying goodbye to something that represents the old you and making way for the new. Think of this time as a launching pad to a fresh chapter. Make space now for something new to come along later. What would you like to make progress with by the end of the year? Choose one thing you want to see happen in 2020 and start making a list of things you would need to do to make that happen.

Scorpio, this year has been a strange one that’s safe to say, but July brings some relief when Mars, your ruler, enters Aries. This is going to help you feel like you are getting back into your element. Where your energy may have ebbed and flowed before, now you can start to feel clearer and more consistent. Things that felt like they were slipping out of your control throughout the spring will now seem a lot less intimidating, and that looming sense of overwhelm is starting to dissipate. And as the fog begins to lift this July, you can start to think about what you need, and what you’re ready for next. Let this fresh energy breathe some new life into your psyche and your routine, and start to get back to feeling like your regular self. Do something that is important to you and you’ll see a transition into a new direction. Sagittarius, you are never one to back down from the truth, and July is encouraging you to expand your mind more than ever before. You are going to be learning something that is going to help you along your future path. The knowledge you can acquire this month is not just for your own benefit: You are here to be a teacher for your friends, colleagues and community at large. What is it that you need to learn more about right now? What is that you can’t stop thinking about? What do you want to be able to speak about with authority, confidence and intelligence? Now is the time to honour your thirst for truth and wisdom. Don’t feel guilty about taking the time you need to follow this path to deeper learning. Get off Google and sign up for a workshop or course, or stock up on those most-read books that are on your wish list.

At a nursing home a group of seniors were sitting around talking about all their ailments. "My arms have gotten so weak I can hardly lift this cup of coffee," said one. "Yes, I know," said another. "My cataracts are so bad I can't even see my coffee." "I couldn't even mark an 'X' at election time, my hands are so crippled, “volunteered a third. "What? Speak up! What? I can't hear you! Said a fourth. "I can't turn my head because of the arthritis in my neck," said a fifth, to which several nodded weakly in agreement. "My blood pressure pills make me so dizzy I can hardly walk!" exclaimed another. "I forget where I am, and where I'm going," said an elderly gent. "I guess that's the price we pay for getting old," winced an old man as he slowly shook his head. The others nodded in agreement. "Well, count your blessings," said one woman cheerfully, "thankfully, we can all still drive."
