A Woman’s World

HORRIBLE, BUT SO TRUE! AN AMAZING COINCIDENCE...

In American Sign Language, the sign for having your period is basically punching yourself in the face - this, I feel is most accurate..

STAIN REMOVAL... I guess you could say our periods are good for one thing periods help you learn how to get blood off things which is probably why you hear more stories of men caught with murder.

A PERIOD OF FEELINGS... YOU JUST FEEL EVERYTHING SO MUCH MORE, YOU CAN’T HELP IT! Your friends annoy you by just existing. And that goes double for your partner. Being alive on day two is a feat. Taking painkillers is pretty much useless. And if you manage to actually get out of bed, you're a goddamn hero in my book. Because you basically feel like crap: You can't even safely sneeze without fearing the worst. When it's all over, all your feelings suddenly make a lot more sense. You'll have to be really careful about reintroducing cute underwear. But in general, life is so good again. Until it happens all over again the next month...

LISA ARMSTRONG 'WANTS £50MILLION'… From Ant McPartlin for big move to LA! Ant McPartlin’s estranged wife Lisa Armstrong has reportedly told friends she wants a £50million pay out from her divorce in order to start a new life abroad. Lisa has seemingly told pals she wants to move to LA, and is willing to fight for ‘everything she’s owed’ in her divorce from Ant. After finding out about Ant’s new romance with their former PA AnneMarie Corbett Lisa is pushing for a big pay out. It’s reported she wants a settlement of £50million which would include half of Ant’s £70million fortune, the couple’s former West London home and a cut of Ant’s future earnings. TOWIE'S PETE WICKS BITTEN BY SHARK… In terrifying attack! The

Only Way Is Essex star Pete Wicks was attacked by a shark while filming for the upcoming series of Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls. Pete who’s spent five weeks in survival mode on a Pacific Island was reportedly fishing for food along with fellow celebs when the shark came out of nowhere and bit his hand. They added the cast and crew were panicky as there was blood everywhere and Pete needed immediate medical attention.“No one knew what was going on, but show medics managed to get him cleaned and bandaged up. He was still wearing the dressing on the plane home," the source continued. Yikes.

‘I’M BACK!’ KATIE PRICE REUNITES KIDS… She is back with her chil-

dren after they moved in with Peter Andre. Last month it was revealed Junior, 12, and Princess, 10, would be staying with their dad as the Loose Women panelist goes through her divorce with third husband Kieran Hayler. Since the split, Pricey has been enjoying a romance with 29-year-old Kris Boyson which is apparently causing concern. ‘Pete has given her a clear message, “sort yourself out”.’

CELEBRITY COACH TRIP 2018: It’s officially back for 2018, with a starstudded cast of famous faces who will be embarking on a 10-day trip around Europe. Tour guide Brendan Sheerin will, once again, be bringing his talent to proceedings, offering commentary of the Mediterranean to the celebs on board. Who are the contestants? Ola & James Jordan: The Strictly Come Dancing duo are no strangers to a reality TV appearance away from the ballroom, with Ola and James enjoying stints in the I'm a Celebrity jungle and the Celebrity Big Brother house respectively, as well as appearing together on Your Face Or Mine. Charlotte Crosby & Josh Ritchie: With her Geordie Shore days long behind her, Charlotte is all loved-up with new boyfriend Josh (who first appeared in Love Island 2015) after going public with him on her very own hit MTV series The Charlotte Show. James Dunmore & Sam Thompson: Whilst James walked away from his time on Made in Chelsea in 2016, Sam is still a regular face on the show. Not one to shy away from a reality TV crossover, Louise Thompson's little bro has also appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and Celebs Go Dating. Nadia Essex & Bobby Norris: Now this sounds like a match made in heaven, right? The sassy Celebs Go Dating relationship expert has become known for her no-nonsense approach to, well, everything. And we're always here for it. As for Bobby? He's a TOWIE favourite and there's never a dull moment when he's around. As he once said: "I'm like the milkman, I always deliver, babes." Lisa Maffia & Mutya Buena: The So Solid Crew star will be paired with the former Sugababes singer for the new Coach Trip, making all of our '00s dreams come true. The celebrity line-up will be embarking on a 10-day road trip around the Spanish Costas and they'll be taking on activities in some of Spain's top holiday spots. The air date for the new series has not yet been confirmed, but we do know that it will be filmed this summer showing on E4 later this year. We can’t wait and WE LOVE YOU BRENDAN!

One Smart Puppy...

A local business was looking for office help...

They put a sign in the window stating the following: "Help wanted. Must be able to type, must be good with a computer, and must be bilingual. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer." A short time afterward, a dog trotted up to the window, saw the sign and went inside. He looked at the receptionist and wagged his tail, then walked over to the sign, looked at it and whined. Getting the idea, the receptionist got the office manager. The office manager looked at the dog and was surprised to say the least. However, the dog looked determined, so he lead him into the office. Inside, the dog jumped up on the chair and stared at the manager. The manager said, "I can't hire you. The sign says you have to be able to type." The dog jumped down, went to the typewriter, and proceeded to type out a perfect letter. He took out the page and trotted over to the manager and gave it to him, then jumped back on the chair. The manager was stunned but then told the dog, "The sign says you have to be good with a computer." The dog jumped down and went to the computer. The dog pro"I C ceeded to enter and execute a perfect program that worked A N DO SH TYPE flawlessly the first time. By this time, the manager was OR TPA & totally dumbfounded. W.. ." He looked at the dog and said, "I realise that you are a very intelligent dog and have some interesting abilities. However, I still can't give you the job." The dog jumped down and went to a copy of the sign and put his paw on the sentence about being an Equal Opportunity Employer. The manager said, "Yes, but the sign also says that you have to be bilingual." The dog looked at the manager calmly and said, "Meow!"

The Little old LADY

& the traveling salesman...

A little old lady answered a knock on the door one day, only to be confronted by a well-dressed young man carrying a vacuum cleaner. 'Good morning,' said the young man. 'If I could take a couple of minutes of your time, I would like to demonstrate the very latest in high-powered vacuum cleaners.' 'Go away!' said the old lady. ''I'm a pensioner and haven't got any money!'' then she proceeded to close the door. Quick as a flash, the young man wedged his foot in the door and pushed it wide open. ''Don't be too hasty!'' he said. ''Not until you have at least seen my demonstration.'' And with that, he emptied a bucket of horse manure onto her hallway carpet. ''Now, if this vacuum cleaner does not remove all traces of this horse manure from your carpet, Madam, I will personally eat the remainder.'' The old lady stepped back and said, ''Well let me get you a fork, because they cut off my electricity this morning!

A Man’s World

IT’S A MAN’S WORLD...

FINALLY, A MAN'S POINT OF VIEW... A man and his ever-nagging wife went on vacation to Jerusalem. While they were there, the wife passed away. The undertaker told the husband, "You can have her shipped home for $5,000, or you can bury her here, in the Holy Land, for $150." The man thought about it and told him he would just have her shipped home. The undertaker asked, "Why would you spend €5,000 to ship your wife home, when it would be wonderful to be buried here and you would spend only €150?" The man replied, "Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and three days later he rose from the dead. I just can't take that chance." WOMAN'S LOVE POEM ... Before I lay me down to sleep, I pray for a man, who's not a creep. One who's handsome, smart and strong. One who loves to listen long. One who thinks before he speaks. One who'll call, not wait for weeks. I pray that he's gainfully employed. When I spend cash, won't be annoyed. Pulls out my chair and opens my door. Massages my back and begs to do more. Oh! Send me a man who'll make love to my mind. Knows what to answer to 'how big is my behind?' I pray that this man will love me to no end, and always be my very best friend. MAN'S LOVE POEM ... I pray for a deaf-mute nymphomaniac with humongous boobs. Who owns a bar on a golf course, and loves to send me to football and the pub! This doesn't rhyme and I don't give a crap.

It's more common than you might think: there are more of jellyfish in the sea than you think. the good news is that while they can be painful, jellyfish stings are very rarely life-threatening, and they're easily treatable. depending on the kind that stings you, most pain typically peaks five minutes after the sting occurs and dies down within a few hours. generally, it won't last longer than 24 hours. there are a lot of myths on what to do in the aftermath of a sting, but here's what to do and what 46

SCIENCE EXPLAINS SLEEP…

We’ve heard a lot of information about our biological clocks and how respecting our sleep cycles can have great health benefits. Usually, people think that 7-8 hours is enough, but that’s not always the case. Sleep is an integral part of our lives. There’s nothing better than going to bed after a long, hard day of work. Healthy sleep is very important for rest and recovery. But how many hours do we need to get a good night’s sleep? And how much sleep you actually need based on how old you are?

LACk OF SLeeP:

Many of us wait for the weekend to get good rest. But it’s better not to neglect sleep for the sake of viewing the latest viral video on the Internet. First of all, being sleep deprived affects the quality of future bouts of sleep negatively. Secondly, this lack of sleep has a detrimental effect on our health. Not getting enough sleep weakens our immunity and can lead to serious consequences. Not getting enough sleep increases the risk of developing the following problems and diseases: ◦ exhaustion ◦ Depression ◦ Changes in hormone function ◦ Cardiovascular diseases ◦ Visual impairment ◦ Diabetes

In addition to all this, bad sleep negatively affects the body and appearance. As a result, weight gain, circles under the eyes, pallor, and bad complexion become a reality. This lack of sleep also leads to a lack of concentration, a decrease in everyday efficiency and premature ageing.

AGE & SLEEP Age affects not only our condition and bodily function. Scientists have established the connection between age and the required number of hours for good sleep. ◦ 0 - 3 months: 14 - 17 hours

◦ 4 - 11 months: 12 - 15 hours ◦ 1 - 2 years: 11 - 14 hours

◦ 3 - 5 years: 10 - 13 hours

◦ 6 - 13 years: 9 - 11 hours

◦ 14 - 17 years: 8 - 10 hours ◦ 18 - 25 years: 7 - 9 hours ◦ 26 - 64 years: 7 - 9 hours ◦ 65+ years: 7 - 8 hours

48

SLEEP IMPROVEMENT It’s important to pay close attention to the quality and duration of sleep you’re getting. Bad sleep can lead to a deterioration of health. You can use the following tipsto help get enough sleep and feel more refreshed every day: ◦ Keep your days and nights separate. It’s important to remember that people should stay awake during the day and sleep at night. If you break this scheme, then you’re likely to have problems with sleep. ◦ Fall asleep and wake up at the same time every day. ◦ Don’t have tonic drinks before bed. ◦ Don’t overeat at night.

◦ Create a cozy and comfortable atmosphere in the bedroom. ◦ Choose a comfortable bed and quality bedding. ◦ A short walk in the fresh air will help you fall asleep more quickly. ◦ Try not to use gadgets before going to bed and turn off electrical appliances at night. ◦ Pay attention to physical activity and relaxation techniques.

Getting enough sleep isn’t that complicated. You can improve your sleep by doing these simple actions. And in return, you’ll be cheerful and healthy.

4th of July Mega Burger

1) First make the relish: heat oil in a large frying pan and add the cumin. Let it cook for a moment, then throw in the bay, garlic, shallots and chilli. Cook Makes 4 Double Burgers for 2 mins until soft but not coloured, then add FOR THE SPICY TOMATO RELISH the celery and tomatoes. Sweat everything •1 tbsp olive oil down gently for 20-30 mins until the tomatoes •2 tsp ground cumin & 1 bay leaf lose their shape. Remove from the heat, season •2 garlic cloves, crushed and leave to cool. This can be made a few days in •2 small shallots, chopped advance and kept in the fridge. 2) To make the burgers, mix the egg yolks in a large bowl •1 red chilli, chopped with the oyster sauce and soaked breadcrumbs. Season with lots of fresh, black pepper •1 celery stick, chopped then add the meat, breaking it up a little. Mix everything, trying not to overwork the mixture •500g ripe tomatoes, roughly chopped or the burger will become heavy. 3) Take the mix and divide in half, then into half and half FOR THE BURGER again so you end up with 8 even pieces. Roll each one into a ball and place a 10 x 10cm •2 egg yolks square of greaseproof paper on the bottom and top. Put in the fridge for 15 mins to firm. •50g oyster sauce 4) Heat a griddle pan. Take 4 burger balls from the fridge and push them down so they •6 slices bread, made into crumbs become discs about the size of a burger bun, about 2cm thick, between the 2 pieces of •1kg good-quality beef mince, not lean greaseproof. Peel the paper off one side and slap down in the pan with no oil or seasoning. Peel the top layer of paper off and cook on a very high heat for a couple of mins. In total, a TO SERVE burger this size will take about 5-10 mins to cook, but you need a bit of colour and texture, •8 slices Gruyère (optional) so exactly how long is up to you. I turn my burgers after 2 mins, but I cook on a very high •4 burger buns, warmed heat, and I like them a little pink. Keep warm in a low oven while you cook the rest, topping •4 tbsp mayonnaise with the cheese slices, if you like, for the final few mins so they melt a little. 5) Lay the 2 •Squeezy mustard halves of the warm bun in front of you and butter them lightly. Spread the mayo on both •1 beef tomato, sliced •Few cooked rashers of streaky bacon sides followed by a little mustard on the top bun and tomato relish on the bottom. Place a slice of tomato on the bottom bun followed by the first burger with the cheese, then some •Little Gem lettuce leaves bacon, then the next burger, more relish, lettuce and finally the guacamole. Top with the •Guacamole bun and eat with the gherkins on the side.

TOP END SUV’S

With just about every manufacturer now offering at least one SUV we take a look at the very top end.

This is the all-new Rolls-Royce Cullinan. The eagerly anticipated SUV marks a number of firsts for the luxury British brand; not only is it its first SUV, it’s the first Rolls-Royce with a tailgate and the first model that the company is happy to say is family. It sits 80mm lower than a Range Rover long wheelbase and has a fully automated ‘viewing suite’ with two seats that fold and swing out of a cassette in the luggage area and sit over the rear bumper for owners to perch on. There’s the choice of a folding rear three-seat bench for a more family-friendly or two more luxurious fixed chairs and offers more rear space than in a longwheelbase Range Rover. It will have a price befitting a Rolls-Royce SUV, estimated to be around the 300,000€ mark. And if you’re lucky enough to have your name down already, first deliveries should be at the very end of this year or early in 2019.

Designed in China and made in Europe The new Karlman King starts off life as a Ford F550. The extensive transformation includes tuning the Ford’s 6.8-litre V10 to 396bhp, and mating it to a six-speed auto ‘box with all-wheel drive and air suspension. The V10 suggests decent performance, but when you factor in the car’s 4.5-tonne kerbweight and six-metre length, it has a top speed of 120kph, according to its makers... The weight is partly down to the wide range of utilities you’ll find in the Karlmann King's interior which like a Las Vegas casino. But at TWO MILLION EUROS that’s what more would you want.

Mercedes have decided that SUVs should be more car like and have shown The Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept at the 2018 Auto China show in Beijing. It is a four-seater, with seats tailored with quiltedwhite upholstery and plenty of the shiny rose gold. Rear, passengers are treated to their own tea set and even a bouquet of flowers. There’s an electric motor attached to each wheel, providing all-wheel drive and plenty of power to the tune of 740bhp thanks to completely flat under floor battery with a capacity of roughly 80kWh. Mercedes claims an EV range of over 200 miles on one charge, and a limited top speed of 155mph.

OH, RATS!

HISTORY WAS WRONG ABOUT THE PLAGUE!

researchers from the universities of Oslo and Ferrara to begin to pivot the blame from our furry friends to the parasites like fleas and lice that fester on us.

Rats have long been blamed for spreading the plague throughout medieval Europe. Well, technically the parasites that transmitted the disease. Now, a recent study suggests that it wasn’t pesky rodents, but rather humans!

The study, in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science, uses records of the plague’s pattern and scale. Between 1347 and 1351 alone, the plague claimed an estimated 25 million lives. With this mortality data the team was able to construct models of the disease The bubonic plague, Black Death, whatever dynamics, simulating outbreaks spread by rats, darkness you’d like to call it, is caused by the airborne transmission and human fleas and lice. bacteria Yersinia pestis. This bacteria travels In seven of the nine simulations human parathrough the human bloodstream and builds up sites matched up the most with historical data, within lymph nodes, causing them to swell into mirroring how quickly disease spread and how “buboes” where we get the name “bubonic many people it affected. The plague spread across Europe would have likely spread much slower. in multiple outbreaks starting in the 500s, with the most intense episodes during the 14th It’s not clear where the belief that rats through early 19th centuries. One of the worst spread the plague came from in the first pandemics in history, tens of millions perished place. Even the researchers of the study up to 60% of the population. The question of note that “there is little historical and how the plague spread so rapidly is what led archaeological support for such a claim.”

If you’re single and looking for love, during July 2018 it’s very likely that hook up with people that really want a quick route to a very fast marriage or big commitment. After July 23rd 2018 the axis of relationships change, in order to try establishing a balance between your needs and those of your partner don’t fall pray to aggressiveness. Professionally speaking, the good news comes after July 10th 2018, when Jupiter resumes its direct motion in your sign. A collaboration with a group or some friends might really take off, but it’s a good idea to be careful. Just like your love life, professional partnerships can be tense and some unpleasant discussions might occur at this time. July is a very good opportunity to revise your day-to-day routine so that you have time for your physical and mental health too. Pisces, during the first half of July 2018 Mercury, Uranus, Mars, and Jupiter are all in your skies. This might point to stress, particularly if you work with your other half. You should be very careful if you’re attracted to a coworker. Despite your romantic mood, you risk being turned down at this time. The Sun lights up the chance of romance until July 23rd 2018, this might be a good opportunity to think about what responsibilities you’re willing to take on so that a relationship would work. Professionally and moneywise you need to make some changes that you may not feel ready to make, but you don’t really have much of a choice. As far as money is concerned, during July you’d do better and gain more from collaborations than work on your own. Agitation and professional conflicts can see you criticising others; pointing out their flaws only to prove you’re better it would be best to try to be more tolerant. Aries, there’s no chance of boredom in your love life this month. Venus, Mercury and the Sun are all in your sign this July. You tend to flirt very obviously and with everyone, whether you’re in a relationship, married or not. You should pay more attention to your other half if in a relationship, as your actions are likely to come back and bite you. If you are looking for love you might experience an unexpected attraction or maybe even enjoy a love story with a co-worker. A lot can happen as far as money is concerned and maybe not all of it good if you don’t pay attention to expenses and splurg on fun and parties. Luckily, things get brighter beginning with July 10th, clearer, and you start to regain your optimism and trust in the fact that everything will work out. Don’t rush into making decisions regarding your love life! On July 26th, the Mercury retrograde and total lunar eclipse pushes you to revise the basis on which you build your love life. The topic of money is touchy this month, and through your attempts to gain material security you risk harming some important personal and professional ties. It’s possible at this time to get support for an investment or paying off a debt. By and large, your mental and physical shape improves during the second half of July 2018. Try to stay optimistic, because things will brighten up soon.

Gemini, during the first week of July you tend to be unhappy about everything and everyone. Luckily, starting in the second week, the atmosphere becomes brighter. Jupiter, Venus, Uranus, Saturn, and Pluto are all in your skies. So you’re feeling very passionate and very self-assured and confident. It could be the right time to confess your feelings for someone or make an impression with a romantic dinner or expensive gift. In July money is a priority for you, but also a topic that can lead to agitation and arguments. It’s a great time to deal with older money-related issues that you think are priorities. On the work front you’re accelerating with one foot and hitting the brakes with the other, and you might reach the conclusion that sometimes results are slower to come in. You seem full of emotional energy this month. If there are any health issues, you shouldn’t neglect them and go straight to the doctor.

From the 10th of July if you are looking for a partner or want to make their relationship official now the time to jump in! But it could also favour you if you want revive the romance in your marriage. The way the planets are working out this month you’re better doing individual pursuits at work, small arguments and criticism between you and workmates seem to start over nothing. You should be careful when negotiating, postpone big expenses or investments, and revise the way you manage your own resources and joint ones or debt just until August. During July 2018 you might be feeling more tired, less energetic. You can feel better by recharging your emotional batteries, but also the physical ones.

Leo, Mars is still retrograde in this month so your love life (in fact, relationships by and large) tends to be marked by arguments and conflicts. During this term you should add things up regarding your personal life and your love life, make any decisions about marriage. The lunar eclipse of July 27th this may lead to the end of a situation or relationship. Something is ruined and can’t go back to how it was before. Be patient in your love life and in your professional life too! With crankiness and bossiness you won’t get anywhere. Things related to money remain one of your priorities during the month, but you tend to be tenser and more argumentative than usual. But it’s not an attitude that you’ll stand to gain from and you risk ruining some productive professional collaborations. You are tired and a little angry, try and take up a new hobby get your head back in the game.

Virgo, during the first week of July 2018 you tend to be overly suspicious and risk offending your other. On July 10th Venus and Jupiter resume a direct motion through your sign these planets are pushing you be more responsible and mature in managing your relationship. If you set out to win someone’s heart, you might find out that they’re not going down easily. Best-case scenario is that things stall and you really shouldn’t push the situation. On the work front you feel like your efforts aren’t getting you results – that you’re not getting what you were hoping for. Maybe it would be a good idea to revise your expectations. Be calmer when dealing with workmates, you’ll get a better result in the end. Your income depends largely on how you show off your assets, how much effort you’re willing to put in to stand out. Stress can mess up your digestion, so you’d better be careful about your eating habits and resting. Libra, Mars is still in retrograde motion through your sign and is involved in tense aspects. Decisions about your joint future are giving you hassle, particularly when you’re talking about money. In order to make the most of the energy of Mars try relaxing and doing things together as a couple. The total lunar eclipse of July 27th 2018 is great for romance and can bring with it revelations about a romantic relationship. This month is great for favoring standing out and long-term projects. You encounter opportunities to grow and collaborate with influential groups or with big companies, but these ties need to be managed carefully. As far as money is concerned, things improve during July 2018, particularly after the 10th. After July 10th, your health and general mood improve considerably with the return of Jupiter in your sign.

Scorpio, July 2018 finds you in a romantic, idealistic mood. If you’ve been reckless in love, now these things might become very public and affect your reputation. On July 26th Mercury begins its retrograde motion, pointing to the fact that it would be better to revise your views on loyalty and fidelity. In some cases it might even come to a breakup. The month sees your work life full of tensions and aggravation. You might reach the conclusion that it’s tough to get your point through to business partners or higher-ups. Its time to explore new professional grounds, to look to the long run and not get bogged down in petty grievances. The good part is that certain personal initiatives get going and you can make a lot of money. You’re feeling agitated with your family life and what’s going on at work. Take some time out when you can to relax and enjoy the weather.

Sagittarius, when it comes to love, nothing goes smoothly during July 2017, and tensions tend to mount. It seems to be getting tougher and tougher to reach a common ground with your partner, to have the same vision on what you have to do together. Saturn and Pluto stay retrograde this month, which points to a series of delays or difficulties in getting a steady income. You might feel like your efforts are too great compared to the income gained. Plan your budget carefully and think things through long-term! Avoid making major money-related decisions and postpone negotiations for now! Beginning with the second half of the month things start to improve and new perspectives of professional development open up, of longterm material gain. This month brings the chance to impress your higher-ups and get a promotion or receive the promise of a bonus. So it’s time to get to work seriously.

Twelve priests were about to be ordained. The final test was for them

to line up in a straight row, totally nude, in a garden while a sexy and beautiful, big breasted, nude model danced before them. Each priest had a small bell attached to his penis and they were told that anyone whose bell rang when she danced in front of them would not be ordained because he had not reached a state of spiritual purity. The beautiful model danced before the first candidate, with no reaction. She proceeded down the line with the same response from all the priests until she got to the final priest (Carlos). As she danced, his bell began to ring so loudly that it flew off and fell clattering to the ground. Embarrassed, Carlos took a few steps forward, and bent over to pick it up. Then, all the other bells started!

Answer: Charles committed the terrible crime. Looking at Brian's statements, one of the statements was a lie and the other was the truth. Therefore it must have been either Charles or Edward.
