A Woman’s World
RIDICULOUS THINGS I NEVER THOUGHT I'D SAY AS A MUM
Being a MUM comes with some funny responsibilities. like wiping someone else's bum, sucking out snot from another human's nose and singing songs you learned from a cartoon... 1) “It's okay that you only love daddy. I love you anyway."
2) “You really can be a fairy princess-scientist if you want to!"
3) “Please stop screaming “diarrhea poopy pants"—we're in public!" 4) “What? No, we cannot make pizza and ice cream for breakfast."
5) “Please stop asking Alexa to play “The Wheels on the bus." Mummy hasn't even had her cup of tea yet." 6) “Put your shoes on. Please, put your shoes on. Shoes. On. NOW! Please put your shoes on. Please, put your shoes on. Forget it, no shoes."
7) “Wow, yes that is the biggest poo I've ever seen. Good boy!" 8) “DON'T TOUCH THE POO!"
9) “Don't pull her head off, though! That's not nice." 10) "Don't wee on your sister."
11) "Don't flush! I have to check your poo for that euro you swallowed!"
HAppy mother’s Day on the 22nd!

TV GOSSIP
(WARNING, DOES CONTAIN SPOILERS)! KILLING EVE SEASON 3: Well the first question on our lips is did she?
Then when can we find out etc., etc? There was never any doubt that Killing Eve would be returning for season three. The spy thriller is a massive Worldwide hit season 3 should be hitting the US and internet in April and on the TV in the UK in June 2020. Despite season two's cliffhanger, we now know that Oh will be back as intelligence officer Eve Polastri, and Jodie Comer's Villanelle has always been a guarantee. We're also hoping Villanelle will return as an MI6 agent. There's certainly a massive plot thread that needs resolving following the events of season two! TOWIE SEASON 26... Chloe Ross and Jayden Beales have been axed for the upcoming season of TOWIE. Producers made a lot of changes last year with so many new characters, some have worked and others haven't. ITVbe will be kicking off the new season this month! GAVIN AND STACEY COMEBACK... OH MY CHRIST! Ruth Jones and James Corden have hinted that the hit comedy show could return. Fans were left desperate for another series when the 2019 Christmas special ended on a huge cliffhanger as we saw Nessa propose to Smithy. Ruth and James, who play Nessa and Smithy, told Metro online, “It’s mind-blowing that so many people watched our show – we still can’t get our heads around it, what a massive compliment. The Christmas special went down so well, big bosses at the BBC have added further fuel to the fire when it comes to rumours of another series. Please make another series!

ONLY THE FUNNY MAKE IT IN...
It’s getting crowded in heaven, so one day Saint Peter decides to only accept people who make him laugh. A man came walking up to the Pearly Gates, and Saint Peter said to him: “Alright there, you’re only getting in today if you can make me laugh, so why don’t you tell me about how you died.” The man looked at Saint Peter and said, “Oh, it was awful! I was absolutely sure my wife was having an affair, so I left work early to come home and try to catch her in the act. When I got home, there she was, naked on the bed! I looked all over the apartment, but I couldn’t find the guy anywhere. So I went outside on our 25th story balcony, and there he was!! Hanging over the edge by his fingertips! So I ran inside, and grabbed my hammer and ran back outside and started smashing his hands and fingers with it! He finally let go, and he fell down 25 stories but he landed in some bushes, so I ran inside and using all of my might, I grabbed my refrigerator, picked it up, and threw it over the rail and on top of the guy, crushing and killing him!! But all of the strain and exertion from picking up the refrigerator gave me a heart attack and I died.”
Saint Peter let out a faint chuckle, and since it was a crime of passion, he decided to let the poor soul in. Another man came walking up to the pearly gates, and Saint Peter told this man the same thing... that in order to get in, he was going to have to make Saint Peter laugh. So the second started to tell Saint Peter how he died.“Oh, it was awful! I was doing aerobics out on my 26th story balcony of my apartment, when all of a sudden a flock of birds came out of nowhere and started attacking me! I was trying to get away, but I fell over the edge of my railing! However, on my way down I managed to grab the railing of the apartment below mine…but then this maniac suddenly showed up and started smashing my hands and fingers with a hammer until I let go! Fortunately for me, I landed in some bushes, but then some guy dropped a refrigerator on me!”
Saint Peter chuckled again, let the second guy into heaven, and was realising he has found a way he could really start enjoying his job! About that time, a 3rd man comes walking up to the pearly gates, and Saint Peter gave him the speech about needing to make him laugh, and asks him how he died. “Oh Saint Peter, you’re never going to believe this could happen! Alright, so picture this—I’m completely naked and hiding in a refrigerator…”

just my luck...
With the luck of the Irish this month and March having the first Friday the 13th of the year, we take a look at how people around the world banish bad luck and dodge misfortune… IRELAND: The four-leaf clover became a good luck charm in Pagan Ireland. Legend states that St. Patrick used three-leaved clover to explain the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit); when the fourth leaf was present, that represented the grace of God. Never iron a four-leaf clover. You don’t want to PRESS your luck!
ITALY: In Italy, 13 is not an unlucky number 17 is. One anagram of the Roman numeral XVII is VIXI, which in Latin translates as "I have lived", with the implication "My life is over" or "I'm dead". Some Alitalia planes have no row 17, some Italian hotels have no room 17.
JAPAN: The luck cat, Maneki Neko, beckons good luck and fortune into your home or workplace with its waving paw.
GERMANY: Old decks of cards featured a pig on the ace, which led to “die sau” “the sow” being considered lucky. A Marzipan pig is now given as a form of good luck charm.
CHINA: The mystic knot is used in Chinese feng shui. The knot is created by tying together six infinity knots, and it represents never-ending good luck. (Place in the southwest or southeast area of your house for the best results.)

just my luck...
With the luck of the Irish this month and March having the first Friday the 13th of the year, we take a look at how people around the world banish bad luck and dodge misfortune… ENGLAND: The horseshow origin legend is: a blacksmith was approached by the devil to put horseshoes on his hooves. After he did, the devil was in pain and wanted them removed. The blacksmith did, but only after the devil promised that he would never go into a house that had a horseshow displayed above the door.
NORWAY: Acorns have been considered good luck in Norse mythology, since the days of the Vikings. Since lightening, which was associated with Thor, was drawn to oak trees, the Norse believed that he favoured acorns, which grew on the trees. They would place the acorns on their windowsills as good luck against lightening.
AUTRALIA: It’s said that the Aborigines in Australia saw frogs as an indicator of good luck for crops; the animal was said to help plant growth, by brining in storms and rain. WORLDWIDE:
The ladybird is a symbol of good luck in many cultures of the World: in France, a ladybird bring good luck in love if it lands on a girl’s hand; in Germany, a ladybug with 7 spots signifies good luck in the upcoming harvest.

Chewing gum...
An Australian man was having a coffee and croissants with butter and jam in a cafe when an American tourist, chewing gum, sat down next to him... The Australian politely ignored the American, who, nevertheless started up a conversation. The American snapped his gum and said, 'You Australian folk eat the whole bread?' The Australian frowned, annoyed with being bothered during his breakfast, and replied, 'of course.' The American blew a huge bubble. 'We don't. In the States, we only eat what's inside. The crusts we collect in a container, recycle them, transform them into croissants and sell them to Australia.’ The American had a smirk on his face. The Australian listened in silence. The American persisted, 'D'ya eat jam with your bread?' Sighing, the Australian replied, 'of course.' Cracking his gum between his teeth, the American said, 'we don't. In the States, we eat fresh fruit for breakfast, then we put all the peels, seeds and the leftovers in containers, recycle them, transform them into jam and sell it to Australia.’ The Australian then asked, 'Do you have sex in the States?' The American smiled and said 'Why of course we do.' The Australian leaned closer to him and asked, 'And what do you do with the condoms once you've used them?' 'We throw them away, of course!' Now it was the Australians turn to smile.... 'We don't. In Australia, we put them in a container, recycle them, melt them down into chewing gum and sell them to the United States. Why do you think it's called Wrigley's?’

A Man’s World
RISE TO THE OCCASION! PAUL and his problem...
Jeff walks into a bar and sees his friend Paul slumped over the bar. He walks over and asks Paul what`s wrong. "Well," replies Paul, "you know that beautiful girl at work that I wanted to ask out, but I got an erection every time I saw her?" "Yes," replies Jeff with a laugh. "Well," says Paul, straightening up, "I finally plucked up the courage to ask her out, and she agreed." "That`s great!" says Jeff, "When are you going out?" "I went to meet her this evening," continues Paul, "but I was worried I`d get an erection again. So I got some duct tape and taped my penis to my leg, so if I did, it wouldn`t show." "Sensible" says Jeff. "So I get to her door," says Paul, "and I rang her doorbell. Waited" "She answered it in the sheerest, tiniest dress you have ever seen." "And what happened then?" (Paul slumps back over the bar again.) "I kicked her in the face."
THE RUSSIAN AND THE Lift.. A family of Russians had lived in deepest darkest Siberia all their lives. One day the mother entered a competition in the Russian equivalent of Women’s Own to win a shopping trip to Moscow. She won, so of they traveled to the shopping centre. They were amazed by almost everything they saw, but especially by two shiny, silver walls that could move apart and back together again. The boy asked his father, "What is this, Father?" The father [never having seen an lift in his life] responded "Son, I have never seen anything like this in my life, I don't know what it is." While the boy and his father were watching wide-eyed, an old lady in a wheel chair rolled up to the moving walls and pressed a button. The walls opened and the lady rolled between them into a small room. The walls closed and the boy and his father watched small circles of lights with numbers above the walls light up. They continued to watch the circles light up in the reverse direction. The walls opened up again and a beautiful 24-year-old woman stepped out. The father said to his son, "Go get your mother."

MEDICAL MAYHEM
A NURSING ASSISTANT, A FLOOR NURSE AND A CHARGE NURSE FROM A SMALL NURSING HOME WERE TAKING A LUNCH BREAK IN THE BREAK ROOM.... In walks a lady dressed in silk scarves and wearing large polished-stone jewelry. “I am Gina the Great,” stated the lady. “I am so pleased with the way you have taken care of my aunt that I will now grant the next three wishes!” With a wave of her hand and a puff of smoke, the room was filled with flowers, fruit and bottles of drink, proving that she did have the power to grant wishes before any of the nurses could think otherwise.
The nurses quickly argued among themselves as to which one would ask for the first wish. Speaking up, the nursing assistant wished first. “I wish I were on a tropical island beach, with single, well-built men feeding me fruit and tending to my every need.” With a puff of smoke, the nursing assistant was gone.
The floor nurse went next. “I wish I were rich and retired, and spending my days in my own warm cabin at a ski resort with well-groomed men feeding me cocoa and doughnuts.” With a puff of smoke, she too was gone.“Now, what is the last wish?” asked the lady. The charge nurse said, “I want those two back on the floor at the end of the lunch break.”
A MAN STAGGERS INTO A HOSPITAL... With concussion, Multiple bruises, two black eyes and a 5 iron wrapped tightly around his throat. The doctor asked "What happened to you?" "Well I was playing Golf with my wife when we sliced our golf balls into a field of cows. I found one stuck in a cows butt, I yelled to my wife 'this looks like yours', I don't remember much after that ..."

7) ECLECTIC FLAVOURS
Earthy dishes and indigenous superfoods will play a starring role on menus this year as eclectic cuisine takes over the food scene. Prepare to see moringa, tamarind and sorghum on your plate and get ready to expand your palate with foods like fonio (a West African grass), cassava (a South American root vegetable) and African kola nuts.
8) PERSONALISED BEAUTY PRODUCTS
Personalised beauty will be the biggest trend of the year, with consumers demanding their individual needs are met. We’ve already seen this in non-gender-specific products and generic hair care, but also in colour cosmetics when Fenty Beauty by Rihanna launched a line of 50 foundation shades, highlighting the need for more inclusivity. Technology will be the main driver, with diagnostic services like online quizzes and virtual ‘try on’ features becoming more popular.

Expect to see a focus on slowing down as the world recovers from the burnout of the 2010s and prepare your passport for more off-the-grid travel. Ready to test them for yourself? Here are the top wellness trends for 2020...
It’s cannabidiol (CBD) that’s making big waves in the wellness, medical and now the beauty industry. It’s said to help with everything from stress and anxiety to insomnia and even claims to be able to assist with inflammatory skin conditions like rosacea, acne and eczema. Due to its antioxidant-rich profile, it may also be beneficial in helping to protect skin from premature ageing, too.

The implant is placed very quickly using normal local anaesthetic, so you have minimal discomfort - no worse than having a filling! Subsequent treatment (impressions, fitting the post and crown) require no local anaesthetic. This very gentle procedure allows placement of implants without the need for building new bone in most cases. If bone augmentation is required this can be done in almost all cases WITHOUT CUTTING THE GUMS.

THE IMPORTANCE OF HEALTH SCREENING

ALL REVVED UP THE GENEVA MOTOR SHOW 2020 PREVIEW
March 2020 Costa Link Magazine.qxp_Editorial Layout 23/02/20 12:06 pm Page 60
From all-electric city cars to 600bhp supercars, the 2020 Geneva Motor Show has it all running from 5th to the 15th of March 2020 it’s one of the most important events in the motoring calendar, acting as a stage for some of the world’s biggest new car launches. AIWAYS Gumpert Nathalie: The Chinese startup manufacturer, AIWAYS, will debut three cars at Geneva. The second car, called the Gumpert Nathalie, is the world’s first methanol-electric hypercar. Designed and built collaboratively with the engineer responsible for the Gumpert Apollo, the Nathalie develops 793bhp – which gives it 0– 60mph time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 190mph.
ASTON MARTIN Vantage Roadster: Aston has chopped the roof off of its Porsche 911 rival with gorgeous results. Powered by the same Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 as the coupé, the Roadster is only two tenths slower to 62mph and only weighs 60kg more. BENTLEY Mulliner Bacalar: The new production car from Bentley's bespoke customisation arm Mulliner will debut at Geneva this year. The Bacalar will be built in very limited numbers and will become a new halo model for the brand. Inspiration has been taken from the concept from last summer, although it is expected that the Bacalar will be powered by one of Bentley's 12cylinder engines rather than electric power like the concept.
FIAT 500e: Fiat's all-new, all-electric Fiat 500 city car is expected to debut in Geneva. The dashboard has been completely overhauled, with new instruments and a large central infotainment screen visible. A new rotary gear selector also features, mounted on a plinth below the centre console and surrounded by buttons.
60
FERRARI Roma: This is the first public debut for new GT sports car at Geneva after November unveiling. What’s new… well it with 8-speed gearbox, the introduction of the five-position manettino for the first time on a Ferrari grand tourer, and a best-in-class power/weight ratio. All of which make the Ferrari Roma the most powerful and fun to drive mid-front-engined V8 2+ in Ferrari history.

Capricorn, hitting the gym or personal fitness challenges help you stay in shape and let go of stress from work this month. Pleasurable activities are high on the agenda after March 19th. Perhaps a retreat or holiday would be in order! The spiritual quality of your close relationships is strengthened during the Moon on March 2nd. Romance is most promising after the Moon on March 17th, when you may be quite enamored with someone unusually striking (or you may see aspects of your partner you’ve not seen before). Allocate ample time for family, or you’ll hear about it during the Moon on March 31st. Mercury’s retrograde from March 10th to April 2nd may be accompanied by unfulfilled expectations, if you’ve strayed outside the “rules.” Even though you may be tempted, avoid high-risk speculation from March 18th to 31st. It can save you money and reputation. Aquarius, competitive situations career wise are complicated by interruptions and delays. Juggling finances can also be rather interesting this month. Patience has never been so valuable! A meeting of the minds strengthens your relationship with a loved one, and if you’re looking for a new love you may meet someone rather fascinating. You may feel reluctant to give up much of your time to frivolous pursuits. After March 22nd you’re more at ease about opening your feelings, although you may have a change of heart. Exciting plans take root during important meetings or as a result of significant communication from March 2nd to 9th. Take advantage of these cycles as a good time to get back in touch with those who can help you jump-start an important project. A new twist on old ideas can be motivating. Pisces, misunderstandings can spoil personal and professional situations this month but if you make an effort to clarify, and follow through you may actually accomplish more than you intended! Altering your daily routine to accommodate unexpected changes can give you a fresh perspective on the best ways to improve your health. If you’re in a difficult relationship healing old wounds and releasing the past are helpful, but sometimes it’s hard to forgive. Finances fare best from March 1st to 9th. Safeguard your belongings after March 20th, when it’s easier to lose things or leave yourself vulnerable to intrusion. Review legal agreements. You may uncover valuable information, and if you’re completing an arrangement you can be sure you’ve satisfied your obligations before the Moon on March 31st. Aries, you’re raring to get things moving, but you may be a little frustrated by delays during Mercury’s retrograde from March 10th to 31st. The sensation that everything is moving too slowly is unnerving you. With Mars continuing its transit through your 8th solar house, you’re still dealing with the need to become whole, and you may become fully immersed in a holistic healing program. Love is in bloom, and you’re ready for romance. You’ll probably be the one initiating the flirting etc., so plan something to give you the confidence to open the doors to love best your chances are from March 1st to 17th. Interruptions are likely after March 19th: Hard work may be more impressive than fireworks during the Moon on March 2nd, but your enthusiasm can go a long way toward assuring your success.
Taurus, keeping the peace may not be easy now, especially if you’re trying to satisfy a set of unrealistic demands or expectations. In addition, Mercury’s retrograde ads an element of anxiety, especially if there are misunderstandings. Although there’s time for romance, you may be a little withdrawn as you explore your inner self more fully. Spend time with those you love during the Moon on March 2nd. Don’t forget about your friends, whose support gives you courage just when you need it during the Moon on March 17th. You may be uncertain about your feelings after March 20th, and need to give yourself time to clarify what’s deep in your heart. Closely scrutinise investment opportunities and avoid signing contracts after March 10th, when you’re better off negotiating. Postpone final decisions until next month.
Gemini, since there are two Moons this month you may be dealing with more emotionally charged issues than you bargained for. Watch the way you respond, since you can actually reverse difficult circumstances by choosing a more appropriate action or response. Family pressures mount during the Moon on March 2nd, but you may have brilliant solutions for dealing with them. Love relationships reach a new level from March 1st to 8th. Later, you may feel uncertain. Talk over your concerns with a trusted advisor during the Moon on March 31st. Unreliable assistance from others can lower your productivity this month. With Mercury retrograding from March 10th to April 1st you’ll run into trouble if you’re over-committed. Working with others toward a common goal provides a chance to incorporate your versatility into new avenues from March 1st to 15th.

Cancer, are you ready for the challenge of advancing your career? This is your time to broaden horizons and set plans in motion that will help satisfy your ambitions. Let your originality work to your advantage if you want to shine. Activities like tai chi, yoga, or martial are excellent avenues for strengthening your mind, body, and spirit this month. Your love life takes a positive turn during the Moon on March 1st and 2nd, when a romantic rendezvous provides the perfect situation to express your feelings. With Venus and Jupiter transiting through your career sector this month, you’re drawing positive attention for your efforts and may even win over some of your competitors. Professional alliances offer solid support after March 19th, but deception accidental or intentional could be a problem from March 18th to 22nd.
Leo, competitive situations can lead to undermining, and by staying alert to the hidden agenda you’ll be much more effective in overcoming challenges. Finances can be like a roller coaster, but you’ll fare well if you keep your priorities in order. Consider the possibility of getting away from it all or at least planning a trip sometimes a change of scenery lets you see things more clearly. The Moon on March 2nd brings money matters to the forefront, and you may have to repair some financial issues before you feel stable and secure. Mercury’s retrograde from March 10th to April 2nd gives you a chance to take another look at contracts and legal matters, and is a good time to renegotiate. Wait until next month to sign contracts, because you may not be satisfied with the options offered now. Have your contingency plans ready. Virgo, life may seem unnecessarily complex, particularly if you’ve become distracted and left too many things in a state of incompletion. Keep your priorities clear. You may have to make adjustments for the unusual and unexpected this March. Relationships and partnership may need a boost this month. If you’re involved, take time for dates bring the magic back into your love life. You may feel over-sensitive during the Virgo Moon on March 2nd, but by the Moon on March 17th you’ll be feeling chipper again. An old love can cross your path. It’s up to you to decide how to handle it! Mercury’s retrograde from March 10th to April 2nd emphasises a need to deal with financial matters with great care. Finish incomplete projects, and use Mercury’s retrograde cycle after March 10th to carefully review details. Avoid large expenditures until after the Moon on March 31st. Libra, demands from others can throw you off balance this month, although you can attract stronger and more enthusiastic support if you present the right image and idea at the right time. Health wise it would be a great idea to build endurance and spark your mental function this month. Romantic intensity opens the doors to intimate connection after March 19th; you’re not likely to release your inhibitions unless you’re standing on solid trust. The Libra Moon on March 31st adds to your feeling of vulnerability, but it’s a good time to share your feelings. Mercury’s retrograde from March 10th to April 2nd can mark a good time to re-evaluate contracts or negotiate deals already in progress. Joint finances after March 19th can leave you feeling stranded in a sea of confusion, and you’ll do just as well pulling in your oars and coasting for a while.
Scorpio, your determination to accomplish your aims can be especially intense this month, although you may have to make a series of adjustments in your plans if you are to succeed. You may find it very difficult to slow down, even when you need to take a break. Maintaining a reasonable pace keeps you on top of your game. A romantic encounter near the Moon on March 2nd may leave an indelible impression. An Irishman who had a little too much to drink is driving home from the city one night and, of course, his car is weaving violently all over the road. The police pull him over. "So," says the copper to the driver, where have ya been?" "Why, I've been to the pub of course," slurs the drunk. "Well," says the copper, "it looks like you've had quite a few to drink this evening." "I did all right," the drunk says with a smile. "Did you know," says the copper, standing straight and folding his arms across his chest, "that a few streets back, your wife fell out of your car?" "Oh, thank heavens," sighs the drunk. "For a minute there, I thought I'd gone deaf." A beautiful woman loved growing tomatoes, but couldn’t seem to get them to turn red. One day while taking a stroll she came upon a gentlemen neighbour who had the most beautiful garden full of huge red tomatoes. The woman asked the gentleman... “What do you do to get your tomatoes to turn so red?” The gentlemen responded... “Well, if you must know, twice a day I stand in front of my tomato garden and expose myself, and my tomatoes turn red from blushing so much.” Since the woman had tried everything else she could think of and was out of ideas, she decided to try doing the same things to her tomato garden to see if it would work. So twice a day for two weeks, she exposed herself to her garden, hoping for the best. One day the gentlemen was passing by and asked the woman... “By the way, how did you make out? Did your tomatoes turn red? “No,” she replied... “But my cucumbers are enormous.”

There I was sitting at the bar staring at my drink when a huge, Tattooed biker walks up next to me, grabs my drink and gulps it down in one gulp, the whole drink, IN ONE…. "Well, what are you going to do about it?" he says, with his fist in my face. As I burst into tears the biker says, "Come on, man," "I didn't think you'd CRY, dude I was just messing with you" "This is the worst day of my life," I cry… “Everything and I mean EVERYTHING has gone wrong, I was late to a meeting and my boss fired me, there on the spot. When I went to the car park, I found my car had been stolen and I don't have any insurance. I left my wallet in the cab I took home. I found my wife with another man... and then my dog bit me." "So I came to this bar to work up the courage to put an end to it all, I buy a drink, I drop a cyanide capsule in and sit here watching the poison dissolve; and then you show up and drink the whole damn thing! But hell, enough about me, how are you doing?"

Brain Teaser
Answer: 6.24am. Since the clock is gaining 15 minutes every hour, for every real hour that has passed, the clock will show 75 minutes. Since the clock shows 3.00am, we know that 180 clock minutes have passed. This equals 144 real minutes (180 / 75 x 60), so the clock shows 2.24 am. The clock stopped 240 minutes ago (4 hours), so the time must now be 6.24am. QED.
