A Woman’s World

THE LADIES OF TWITTER NEVER FAIL TO BRIGHTEN OUR DAYS WITH THEIR BRILLIANT … BUT SUCCINCT WISDOM! I will never allow myself to be watched! I believe in freedom! *clips on Fitbit and allows GPS location on phone. Did you know that having more than 30 cats means you're not single anymore? My version of a continental breakfast is Prozac & birth control. Can I get wine delivered?.... 4pm musings.

Don’t you just love pap s m e a r s because you're just sitting there, chatting about the weather, pretending someone's hand isn't inside your vagina. When you find a strikingly long hair behind your knee that your first Venus evidently missed and just fell through the cracks for 15 years.

Dating multiple people is a fantasy all 20 plus somethings have before they realise everyone is terrible.

Ah yes! It's that magical time of year when the cobwebs in my house suddenly become decorative. I never knew my son was 80 years old until he told me to text our neighbor because....

"his leaves are getting on our lawn."

KATIE PRICE, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? Has Katie Price SPLIT from new toyboy already after she’s caught ‘confessing love for ex’? We’ve half given up trying to follow Katie Price‘s love life. Is she single etc, etc… Well, in another twist to KP’s relationship status, apparently her romance with latest boyfriend Alex Adderson is on the rocks despite the pair looking seriously loved-up on holiday just a few days ago. Rumour has it Katie and her man came to blows when Alex caught his girlfriend confessing her love to ex Kris Boyson. Awkward! However, her new relationship seems to have caused concern among her family after reports claimed Alex is ‘controlling’ over her financial woes. Katie has now admitted she needs help to get over her PTSD she entered rehab last month. 2018

CELEBS GO DATING 2018: They include Sugababes star Mutya Buena, TOWIE's Chloe Sims and Love Island's Olivia Attwood and Eyal Booker. Joining them are Made In Chelsea's Alik Alfus, TOWIE star and blogger Vas J Morgan and Diversity dancer Sam Craske. Celebs Go Dating airs on E4 later this year...

THE END OF THE BIG BANG… Kaley Cuoco reveals how she wants it all to end! The Big Bang Theory fans were left devastated after it was revealed the show would be ending after series 12. And Kaley Cuoco has revealed exactly how she wants the comedy to finish. During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, KC said she’s fed up of taking the stairs in every episode, and would love it to end in the lift. Kaley also revealed there were ‘hysterical sobs’ when it was revealed the show would be ending, after over decade on air. It’s reported that Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon Cooper, is the reason for the sitcom coming to an end. According to Entertainment Weekly, the 45-year-old was ‘ready to walk away’ after 11 years as the lead character… It’s just so sad, where are we going to get laughs like it!

HELENA BONHAM CARTER HAS HIRED A PSYCHIC… HBC is trying to contact Princess Margaret to prepare for her new role in The Crown! And the actress insists Her Royal Highness has already told her she is “doing a great job” as she films royal drama The Crown. She is going to great lengths to prepare for her role in The Crown. The eccentric star Took unconventional steps to tackle her new royal role in series three of the Netflix epic. A TV insider said: “She always likes to research her roles with as much depth as possible and is always prepared to go that extra mile.” The new series is set to air next year. GEMMA COLLINS RECORDS HER FIRST SINGLE: The GC has

recorded a cover of the hit 90s song, Everybody’s Free To Feel Good, in a bid to reach the Christmas number one spot. Saying ‘Singing has always been a passion of mine. I would like to do an album.’ She added: ‘I would like a Christmas number one. I’m not going to lie.’ Gemma recorded the song in the same studio that Kanye West, Sam Smith and Dizzee Rascal have all previously recorded in. We wonder if Gemma will be in with a chance this Christmas…

WILL THE STRICTLY CURSE STRIKE AGAIN?: Watch out, loved ones

of Strictly stars Tess Daly isn’t convinced that the curse won’t strike again at some point this season. The TV presenter has warned that the temptation of the curse could ‘easily’ tempt the trainee dancers, who often have to get up close and personal to perform sensual moves as part of the routine. As a result, over the years it’s become all too common for relationships outside of the show to break down, and others inside the show to form. We wonder whom it will strike this year? Do you have any guesses folks?

HALLOWEEN SURVIVAL GUIDE

† When it appears that you have killed the monster, *NEVER* check to see if it's really dead.

† If you find that your house is built upon or near a cemetery, was once a church used for black masses, had previous inhabitants who went mad or committed suicide or died in some horrible fashion, or had inhabitants who performed satanic practices in your house, move away immediately.

† Never read a book of demon summoning aloud, even as a joke. † Do not search the basement, especially if the power has gone out.

†If your children speak to you in Latin or any other language which they should not know, or if they speak to you using a voice which is other than their own, shoot them immediately. It will save you a lot of grief in the long run. NOTE: It will probably take several rounds to kill them, so be prepared.

† When you have the benefit of numbers, *NEVER* pair off and go it alone. † As a general rule, don't solve puzzles that open portals to Hell. † NEVER stand in, on, above, below, beside, or anywhere near a grave, tomb, crypt, mausoleum, or other house of the dead.

FIVE YOUNG CANNIBALS..

Five cannibals get appointed as programmers in an IT company...

During the welcoming ceremony the boss says: "You're all part of our team now. You can earn good money here, and you can go to the company canteen for something to eat. So don't trouble the other employees". The cannibals promise not to trouble the other employees. Four weeks later the boss returns and says: "You're all working very hard, and I'm very satisfied with all of you. One of our cleaners has disappeared however. Do any of you know what happened to her?"

"YOU DI D WHAT? "

The cannibals disavow all knowledge of the missing cleaner. After the boss has left, the leader of the cannibals says to the others: "Which of you idiots ate the cleaner?"

A hand raises hesitantly, to which the leader of the cannibals says: "You fool! For four weeks we've been eating Team Leaders, Managers, Principal Advisors and Project Managers so no-one would notice anything, and you have to go and eat the cleaner!"

YOU SAID WHAT..

• At the Senior Citizens Centre they had a contest the other day. I lost by one point. The question was, “where do women mostly have curly hair”? Apparently, the correct answer was Africa. • I've heard that Apple has scrapped their plans for the new children's iPod after realising that iTouch Kids is not a good product name. • Just put a deposit down on a brand new Porsche and mentioned it on Facebook. I said, “I can't wait for the new 911 to arrive!" Next thing I know 4,000 terrorists have added me as a friend!! • Being a modest man, when I checked into my hotel on a recent trip, I said to the lady at the registration desk, "I hope the porn channel in my room is disabled." To which she replied, "No, it's regular porn, you sicko. •A buddy of mine has just told me he's getting it on with his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache." • You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles but at least they drive slowly past schools.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN..

• On the night of Halloween Louise and Peter had been invited to a fancy dress party, they were having massive trouble picking suitable outfits. After a while Louise got really annoyed and angry and stormed out of the room. Fifteen minutes later she came back completely naked except for a lemon between her legs. Peter looked at her for a moment and then stormed out of the room himself. Twenty minutes passed and Peter came back himself with a potato around his manhood. Louise gave him a weird look but didn’t say anything, and then Peter piped up, "If you're going as a sour-puss, I'm going as a dictator." • A vampire bat came flapping in from the night covered in fresh blood and parked himself on the roof of the cave to get some sleep. Pretty soon all the other bats smelled the blood and began hassling him about where he got it. He told them to go away and let him get some sleep but they persisted until finally he gave in. “OK, follow me” he said and flew out of the cave with hundreds of bats behind him. Down through the valley they went, across a river and into a forest full of trees. Finally he slowed down and all the other bats excitedly milled around him. “Now, do you see that tree over there?” he asked. “Yes, Yes, Yes!” the bats all screamed in a frenzy. “Good” said the bat, “Because I sure as hell didn’t!”

the world’s

MOST HAUNTED PLACES..

1) Monte Cristo Homestead, New South Wales, Australia

THE SITE... A late Victorian mansion, with intricate cast iron lattice work, built by wealthy landowner Christopher William Crawley in 1876. Reputedly Australia’s most haunted house. THE GHOSTS... Take your pick. There’s the young child who was dropped down the stairs, the maid who fell from the balcony or the stable boy who burned to death. The most active, however, is the ghost of the son of the caretaker who was found curled up next to the dead body of his mother and chained up for 40 years. CURRENT SITUATION... The house currently operates as a B&B and revels in its gruesome past by offering ghost tours.

2) Bhangarh Fort, Rajasthan, India

THE SITE... The ruins of a fort city built in the 17th century, Bhangarh Fort consists of fort walls, bazars, havelis, royal palaces, and numerous temples. THE GHOSTS... A wizard called Singhia and a princess called Ratnavati who spurned his advances. Legend has it that the enchanted oil he hoped would make her love him turned into a boulder when she threw it away – and it crushed him. But not before he cursed the palace, condemning the inhabitants to death, without any hope of rebirth. CURRENT SITUATION... Bhangarh Fort is now an archeological site, known as the ‘House of Ghosts’. It is closed between sunset and sunrise, with locals convinced that anyone who spends the night amongst the ruins will never be seen again.

3) Castle of Good Hope, Cape Town, South Africa

THE SITE... Built in the 17th century by the Dutch East India Company, the Castle of Good Hope is South Africa’s oldest colonial building. THE GHOSTS... The first ghost was spotted in 1915 when the apparition of a tall gentleman was seen jumping off the side of one of the castle walls, and then walking between the bastions Leerdam and Oranje. Another famous ghost, the Lady in Grey, was often seen running through the castle holding her face and crying hysterically, but has not been seen since a woman’s body was found during recent excavations. CURRENT SITUATION... The castle is a popular tourist attraction, with a military museum, a restaurant with views of Table Mountain, and a Military Tattoo held every November.

4) Château de Brissac, Maine-et-Loire, France

34

THE SITE... The tallest castle in France, Château de Brissac was built in the heart of the Loire Valley as a fortress by the Counts of Anjou in the 11th Century. It has 204 rooms, numerous portrait galleries, a chapel, and a private opera house, which seats 200 people. King Louis XIII dropped by in 1620. THE GHOSTS... The most active is La Dame Verte, (Green Lady), who was the victim of a double murder in the château in the 15th Century. She is often seen in the tower room of the chapel, wearing her green dress, with gaping holes where her eyes and nose should be. When not startling guests by her appearance she can be heard moaning around the castle. CURRENT SITUATION... The château is a popular hotel and conference centre that hosts special events and tastings of the well-regarded wines, produced from its own vineyards. Guests who are brave enough to stay overnight enjoy rooms lavishly decorated with period furniture.

October 2018 Costa Link Magazine.qxp_Editorial Layout 24/09/18 1:49 pm Page 35

5) Ancient Ram Inn, Gloucestershire, England

THE SITE... A Grade II listed building and former pub built in 1145, located in Wottonunder-Edge, a market town in Gloucestershire. It is situated on two ley lines and was the scene of a child sacrifice and devil worshipping. THE GHOSTS... Built on an ancient pagan burial ground, the Ancient Ram Inn is believed to be haunted by upwards of 20 spectres, including an incubus (a male sex demon) that delights in pushing guest down onto their beds. A high priestess has been spotted sitting on a bed, and guests often hear the agonising screams of a young girl. CURRENT SITUATION... Trading on its reputation as the most haunted building in the British Isles, the Ancient Ram Inn currently operates as a B&B for would-be ghost hunters.

6) Hell Fire Club, Montpelier Hill, Ireland

THE SITE... The Hell Fire Club was built as a hunting lodge in 1725, and it reportedly became a gathering place for a small group of Dublin elites who met for debauchery and devil worship. Its ruins sit atop the summit of Montpelier Hill in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, overlooking the adjacent Massy Woods. THE GHOSTS... Tales of animal sacrifice, black masses, cloven-hoofed men and murder are linked to the structure. The most popular tale tells of a visit by a satanic creature, in the form of a man, who was only discovered when one of the players dropped a card and on picking it up, noticed the guest had cloven feet. On his discovery, the creature disappeared in a ball of flames. CURRENT SITUATION... It's a popular stopping point on a walking trail through the Dublin Hills. Ghost tours of the site are particularly popular during Halloween.

7) Banff Springs Hotel, Alberta, Canada

THE SITE... Styled after a Scottish baronial castle, The Banff Springs Hotel in Alberta Canada, is one of Canada’s great railway hotels and reportedly one of the most haunted buildings in the country. THE GHOSTS... A selection of apparitions await at the Banff Springs. There's a bride who fell down the staircase breaking her neck after panicking when her dress caught fire. She is often seen in the ballroom dancing, with the flames coming from the back of her dress. A family were murdered in room 873. The door to this room has since been bricked up, but the family can still be seen in the hallway outside the room. And former bellman, Sam Macauley, can often be spotted – even though he's dead. He served at the hotel during the '60s and '70s, and he likes to help guests up to their rooms, dressed in his '60s uniform. If you try to tip him or make conversation, he disappears. CURRENT SITUATION... Now part of the Fairmont chain of luxury hotels, The Banff Springs stands as a landmark in the alpine town of Banff, Alberta and remains a popular year-round resort.

8) Poveglia Island, Italy

THE SITE... In the Venice Lagoon between Venice and Lido, this small island was a place where mainlanders fled to seek refuge from invaders. In the 14th century Venetians infected by the Bubonic plague were sent here to die and, when they died, they were burned on giant pyres. The site was also used as a mental asylum during the 1800s. THE GHOSTS... The ghosts of the patients and victims of disease are said to haunt the island and its buildings. Voices and screams are often heard, and visitors have reported seeing dark, fleeting shadows. Many visitors say they begin to feel an oppressive evil feeling as soon as they step on the island. CURRENT SITUATION... The island is totally abandoned, with many locals unwilling to step foot on the island for fear of being cursed. Fisherman also refuse to fish in the area, worried that they will drag up human remains.

A Man’s World

IT’S A MAN’S WORLD... DANGER WHILST DRVING…

Driving to work this morning in the fast lane of the motorway, I looked in the fast lane of the motorway, I looked over to my right and there was this woman in a brand new Jaguar doing just 50 kph, with her face right up to the rear view mirror putting on her eyeliner. I looked away for a couple of seconds and when I looked back, she was halfway over into my lane, still working on that makeup. As a man, I don’t scare that easily but she scared me so much that: I dropped my electric shaver, which knocked the toast straight out of my other hand. In all the confusion of trying to straighten out the car with my knees against the steering wheel, it knocked my mobile phone away from my ear, which fell into the coffee between my legs, splashed and soaked my trousers, ruined the phone and disconnected a very important call. DAMN THOSE STUPID WOMEN DRIVERS!

THE DNA TEST...

After 10 years a wife started to think their child looks kind of strange so she did a DNA test and found out the child is not theirs, she told her husband what she had found out, the husband replied, you don’t remember do you??? When we were leaving the hospital the baby filled it’s nappy and you told me to go and change him so I went inside got a clean one and left the dirty one there. The wife fainted…

A DREAM WEDDING...

I made my girlfriend's dreams come true and married her in a castle. You wouldn’t have thought it though from the miserable look on her face as we were bouncing around!

5 BENEFITS & USES OF CBD OIL

CBD OIL OR CANNABIDIOL AND HEMP HAVE BEEN USED FOR THOUSANDS OF YEARS AS NATURALLY GROWING HERBS. ALTHOUGH THEIR REPUTATION AS A DRUG HAS COMPLICATED THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ITS USERS AND THE AUTHORITIES IN CERTAIN PARTS OF THE WORLD. CBD OIL HAS BECOME VERY POPULAR AND FAMOUS IN THE RECENT YEARS DUE TO THE MOVEMENT FOR LEGALIZED MARIJUANA IN CERTAIN COUNTRIES. WHAT IS CBD OIL? CBD oil is made by mixing the extracted CBD or cannabidiol from the cannabis or marijuana plant (Cannabis Sativa) with coconut or hemp seed oil. CBD oil possesses cannabidiol; while THC is psychoactive, CBD is not, thereby helping relieve pain, treating anxiety and depression, fighting cancer, reducing anxiety. It also improves the quality of sleep, boosts appetite, and optimises digestion.

HERE ARE JUST THREE OF THE FIVE KEY confirm this link. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial published in The New HEALTH BENEFITS OF CBD OILS:

1. PAIN RELIEF...

One of the most celebrated health benefits of CBD oil is its analgesic (pain relieving) effects. It’s thought that CBD interacts with receptors in the brain and immune system to reduce inflammation and alleviate pain. Some studies, such as this investigation published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine, found that CBD significantly reduces inflammation in mice and rats – but it’s not only rodents that experience these effects. A 2008 review identified that CBD offered effective pain relief without inducing adverse side effects in patients.

England Journal of Medicine explored the effect of CBD medication on young adults with Dravet syndrome, a rare type of epilepsy with seizures that are often induced by fever. Those who received CBD experienced saw their seizure frequency drop by a median of 38.9 percent.

3. COMBAT ANXIETY...

While CBD is most commonly used to treat physiological symptoms, there’s a growing body of research that indicates it can also be used in the therapy of a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety. A study by the University of São Paulo found that CBD significantly reduces subjective anxiety, leading investigators to con2. ANTI-SEIZURE PROPERTIES... clude that “These results suggest that CBD Seizures occur when there’s a dramatic fluctuareduces anxiety in [social anxiety disorder] and tion of electrical activity in the brain. HOW MUCH IS ENOUGH?

Exercise that is! How much physical activity do adults aged 19-64 years old need to do to stay healthy? To stay healthy or improve health, adults need to do two types of physical activity each week: aerobic & strength exercises...

GUIDELINES FOR ADULTS AGED 19-64

To stay healthy, adults aged 19-64 should try to be active daily and should do:

At least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity such as cycling or brisk walking every week, and strength exercises on two or more days a week that work all the major muscles (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders and arms) OR 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity, such as running or a game of singles tennis every week, and strength exercises on two or more days a week that work all the major muscles (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders and arms). OR A mix of moderate and vigorous aerobic activity every week. For example, two 30-minute runs plus 30 minutes of brisk walking equates to 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity, and strength exercises on two or more days a week that work all the major muscles (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest, shoulders and arms) A good rule is that one minute of vigorous activity provides the same health benefits as two minutes of moderate activity. One way to do your recommended 150 minutes of weekly physical activity is to do 30 minutes on five days every week. All adults should also break up long periods of sitting with light activity.

WHAT COUNTS AS MODERATE AEROBIC ACTIVITY? Examples of activities that require moderate effort for most people include: •BRISK WALKING WATER AEROBICS •RIDING A BIKE ON THE FLAT •DOUBLES TENNIS •PUSHING A LAWN MOWER •HIKING •SKATEBOARDING OR ROLLERBLADING •VOLLEYBALL •BASKETBALL

•SKIPPING •HOCKEY •AEROBICS •GYMNASTICS Vigorous activity makes you breathe hard and fast. If you're working at this level, you won't be able to say more than a few words without pausing for breath. In general, 75 minutes of vigorous activity can give similar health benefits to 150 minutes of moderate activity.

WHAT ACTIVITIES STRENGTHEN MUSCLES? Muscle-strengthening exercises are counted in repetitions and sets. A repetition is one complete movement of an activity, like a bicep curl or a sit-up. A set is a group of repetitions. For WHAT COUNTS AS VIGOROUS ACTIVITY? There is good evidence that vigorous activity each strength exercise, try to do: can bring health benefits over and above that AT LEAST ONE SET of moderate activity. Examples include: 8 TO 12 REPETITIONS IN EACH SET •JOGGING OR RUNNING To get health benefits from strength exercises, you should do them to the point where you •SWIMMING (QUICKLY) struggle to complete another repetition. Why •RIDING A BIKE QUICKLY OR ON HILLS not start a five-week exercise plan and see •SINGLES TENNIS how you improve your strength and flexibility in •FOOTBALL OR RUGBY a really short time!

PREVENTION CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE

The breasts are the symbol of a woman’s femininity, a crucial part of her sexuality and a bond between mother and child during maternity. But breasts are also the female organs that generate the highest incidence of cancer among women. Hence our interest in making it widely known that early detection is the only way to achieve the highest number of cures using the least aggressive treatments. Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women. The lifetime risk of developing breast cancer is one in nine and in the UK, 41,000 new cases are diagnosed each year (1% of cases occurring in men). The risk of breast cancer is increased in some patients if there is a family history (particularly on the maternal side). The risk of breast cancer increases with age and 80% of breast cancers occur in women over the age of 50. Current data indicate that survival rates from breast cancer are improving. The key factors for this improvement are increased breast awareness and early detection and presentation of breast cancer.

The mammogram is undoubtedly the most effective method of cancer screening (the method used for early detection of the disease). It can detect 35% to 45% of tumors smaller than 1 cm, when we cannot yet feel them. However, this test is less sensitive on women younger than 40 due to the higher density of the breast tissue at a younger age. Therefore, it is important that women under 40 assess their family-related risks. For example, whether they have any direct relatives with breast cancer in the family or whether they have ever had a breast disease, to ascertain which check-ups are needed. In these cases, a complementary ultrasound can diagnose small hidden abnormalities that the mammogram is unable to detect. And we must not forget the importance of breast selfexamination. All women should be familiar with their own breasts and the changes that occur during the monthly cycle, so they can make an appointment with a specialist if they detect anything unusual. Finally, a clinical breast examination should be part of an annual gynaecological check-up, together with the smear test.

Chocolate Bat Biscuits Method:

Ingredients:

•125g butter, softened •85g icing sugar •1 large egg yolk •1 tsp vanilla extract •1 tsp milk •175g plain flour, + extra for rolling •1 tsp fine espresso-powded coffee •50g cocoa powder •¼ tsp salt To decorate •100g bar dark or milk chocolate chocolate hundreds & thousands coloured writing icing

(or make your own with 100g icing sugar, 3-4 tsp water and some colouring)

1) Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4 and line two baking sheets with baking parchment. Beat the butter and sugar together until creamy and pale, then beat in the yolk, the vanilla and milk. Sift the flour, coffee, cocoa and salt into the bowl, then mix together to make a soft dough. Shape the dough into a disc, wrap and chill for 15 mins. 2) Dust the dough all over with a little flour, then roll it between two large sheets of baking parchment, to the thickness of a €1 coin. Remove the top layer of the paper, stamp shapes with an 8cm bat (or other) cutter, and carefully lift to the lined sheets using a palette knife. Re-roll the trimmings. Cut a 1.5cm x 5mm notch at the base of each bat’s body. This is about right to sit the bats on thick tumblers; if your glasses are finer-edged, make the notches thinner so that the bats stay put. Bake for 10 mins or until the biscuits feel sandy and smell rich and chocolatey. Cool on the sheets for 5 mins, then lift the cookies onto a wire rack and cool completely. 3) To decorate, melt the chocolate over a pan of simmering water or in the microwave. One biscuit at a time, brush chocolate over the bat ears and wings with a small paintbrush, then cover with chocolate sprinkles. Tap off the excess. Pipe faces and fangs onto your bats, then leave to dry. Keep in an airtight container for up to a week.

QUIRKY CLASSIC CAR AUCTION...

Most classic car auctions tend to shout their biggest lots - the rare classics worth countless millions, but Sometimes, even the biggest sales turn up something unexpectedly quirky, and Sotheby’s London auction last month had some rather strange entries........ This tiny 1974 car is a far cry from Italian coachbuilder Zagato’s supercars. The allelectric Zagato Zele 1000 had a range of 50 miles and could reach 25mph. Just 500 were made and this one went under the hammer at £11.500 The Fiat 500 came in many forms, but none were quirkier than Italian coachbuilder Ghia's 1968 Jolly a roofless 500 equipped with a striped fabric roof, wicker seats designed for Mediterranean beach clubs and hotels this example reached £25,3000 Looking like a shrunken 1920s open tourer, and made well before the term “microcar”existed this Peugeot Quadrilette (or Fourcycle) has a four-cylinder 668cc engine complete producing 6bhp, with a three-speed gearbox made £8,625. After the equally weird Peel P50, the Trident was marketed as a 'saloon car' for the cost of a scooter and with the originals fetching up £80,000, Peel started to re-manufacture them in 2011, the hammer fell on this one at £10,925.

One of 12 Lada Nivas entering the 1979 Paris-Dakar rally – in entirely original, unrestored condition, although another one finished the event in third place, this example of the 4x4 didn’t make it to Dakar – It also failed to make its estimate of £50,000 – £75,000 – selling without reserve for only £4,600.

Capricorn, Venus begins its retrograde motion on October 5th 2018 un your sign so there might be confusions between love and friendship; relationships which begin now can prove to be difficult and not long-term material. So it would be better to make do with prospecting options, trying to meet as many people as possible, particularly if you’re single; but don’t throw yourself into relationships straight away. Income from professional pursuits can suffer some delays and even generate cascade delays in payments you have to make in turn. The New Moon of October 9th gives you opportunities for new associations so you can start walking on a path that suits you better. Full of energy and optimism, you deal really well with issues you have to solve and you manage to pursue your long-term goals. Aquarius, Mercury is very active during October 2018, which predisposes you toward a love life that’s full of the unexpected events. So if you are single you have every chance at finding someone special this month. On the work front you should be careful about ties to the abroad, particularly if you deal in export-import or collaborate with companies from abroad or with international capital. As far as money is concerned, debt gives you hassle and you’d better work harder at paying it off. If you have invested or intend to invest in real-estate could find out that things will get complicated, or that they have to pay more. You should re-evaluate your strategy and long-term plans. You tend to neglect your health. Even a regular cold should be taken seriously, so you won’t end up sick in bed for days. Pisces, Mercury is in your sign during October 2018, promising a lot of activity in your love life or in the life of those who intend to make their relationships official. If you want to be taken seriously in your love life, treat your spouse respectfully! If you are single you could be attracted to someone from far away or maybe an old flame. Some money-related issue could become so pressing that it makes you consider a loan or selling off some goods. In order to improve your income, you might need to renegotiate the terms of collaboration. You’re trying to do too many things at once or on too large a scale, and you could end up being disappointed in yourself, demoralized or exhausted. Luckily, you find the inner resources needed in order to motivate yourself so that you can overcome difficult times quicker than usual. Aries your love life is going to be intense this month, at times maybe even extreme. There might be breakups and reconciliations, maybe fatal attractions or an affair. If you are single October is a great month for you, especially if you return to an older love. There’s a New Moon on October 9th and romance enters your sign along with Venus, Mercury, and Jupiter. So you get the chance to revitalize your relationship, and also rediscover the pleasure of spending time together. Money related areas are intensely activated during October 2018, and Venus. Avoid signing new contracts, particularly if they involve moneyrelated obligations. It’s a good time for refinancing and paying off debts. Professionally, you could stand have a hard month try asserting yourself by proving your abilities, not challenging authority. You should make sure to take a break in order to do things that relax you, and have enough time for rest.

Taurus, Venus, Jupiter, Mercury are going to send you on an emotional roller coaster this month. You have a lot to revise. Venus is in a retrograde motion starting on October 5th reactivating older issues that need to be solved. You should avoid making extreme or final decisions at this time. If you are single you find yourself in the strange situations. Either you fall madly in love or you don’t and run into someone who wants to say “I do” quickly. October 2018 sees the need to re-evaluate things from a professional standpoint. It’s also time to add things up when it comes to professional partnerships and associations. You might deal with new projects and opportunities to do something new in your professional life. When it comes to all kinds of partnerships, arm yourself with time and patience in order to stand by your point of view!

Gemini, it seems that for a while now you’ve been picky when it comes to love, maybe even impossible to please. If you are looking for love or have just started a relationship then complicated situations during October 2018 may arise, don’t worry though because by the end of the month all will be well. Beginning with the very first week of October 2018, you’re concerned about debt. The source of these concerns might be your predisposition toward financial speculation and expenses that are useless or impulsive. Also, it would be a good idea to seek other sources of income or another job that’s better paid. You’re pretty worked up this month you can tire yourself out pretty quickly because work will be very demanding. You should make the time to rest enjoy the October weather; why not take up a new outdoor pursuit.

Cancer, Jupiter, Mercury and the Sun are all helping you in finding a relationship if you are looking for love. If you are single you should get yourself out there because “the one” is not going to find you lounging on your sofa! You should avoid making any final decision this month, and instead make the most of this term in order to re-evaluate relationships you’re in or the potential of another connection. There’s a lot of fuss during October 2018, both professionally and money-wise. Money could trigger tension at home. It would be best to sort out your budget carefully, particularly if you have a loan to make payments on. Friends or some people from your circle can push you toward the wrong path. Impatience and the desire to get immediate results can lead you to uncertain situations. That’s where the high stress level comes from. Try to take some time out when you can to rebalance your yin and yang…

Leo, you sometimes feel like your love life uses up too much of your energy, particularly if you’ve been married for a while and tensions have been building up. If you are single you are not that interested in relationships, but more about adding things up when it comes to their personal life. Your professional life stays busy during October 2018, and can be a source of tension and unpleasantness. You have a significant predisposition toward arguments or contradicting, particularly when it comes to money or personal worth. Challenging the authority of others isn’t the way to go. In the middle of the professional upheaval, don’t forget about your family! They can be reliable support. It would be very useful if you’d relax for a while too, on your own, in order to recharge your batteries. Otherwise you might explode, causing even more stress for yourself. Virgo, you are not feeling very sociable this month, this predisposition can earn you some ground when it comes to love life, too. If you’re single you could meet someone interesting. If you’re married, meeting relatives and stops you from feeling bored with your other half. During the second half of the month it would be best to avoid being grumpy and sensitive, it wont’s win you any fans. Mercury and the Sun see in the New Moon of October 9th so things are looking pretty good for you as far as money is concerned this month. Professionally, you could achieve a lot, particularly in association or collaboration with others. It’s time to use your knowledge and even enrich it. You tend to take everything too seriously and forget to enjoy the little things: the presence of loved ones, the connection with your other half. Take some time out and enjoy your spoils. Libra, on the one hand, the Sun shines on you until October 23rd, giving you confidence in yourself; on the other, Venus begins its retrograde motion on October 5th. So one might say that during October 2018 you’re more interested in yourself and your own worth this fact might make ties to others difficult, particularly emotional ones. Your other half might feel like you’re not giving them as much attention as they deserve. If you are single you can easily fall for short-term passions. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but there’s a risk that your intentions might be misunderstood. It’s time to embrace moderation and not depend on friends or family when it comes to money. The second half of the month could point to a predisposition toward taking on big money-related risks, due to a desire to earn more. The New Moon, which happens on October 9th, inspires new beginnings both personally and professionally.

Scorpio, Venus begins its retrograde motion in your sign on October 5th 2018. You might feel like you can’t understand what your other half wants from you. You might feel pressured or overwhelmed maybe even pushed into marriage. If you are single toward end of month you might deal with a crush on a friend or on someone you’ve met through friends. And you won’t regret it! At work there might be a confrontation with bosses, and it’s not impossible to find out that you have a secret enemy. You shouldn’t rely on others and carefully analyze professional collaborations so that they truly benefit you be careful when signing new contracts. You can recharge your batteries in the company of loved ones, and it would be better to try to add things up personally. It would be a good time to re-establish another lifestyle rhythm, a slower pace, despite outside pressure.

Sagittarius, during October 2018 you may become very concerned with saving your relationship or marriage. You can succeed, provided your better half wants the same thing. Whether you’re single, in a relationship, or married, during October someone from the past might make an appearance in your life or you might be tempted to resume contact with an older flame. Considering the fact that Venus begins its retrograde motion on October 5th 2018, one might say that it’s a good term for adding things up. As far as money is concerned, things seem to work out – even if not without arguments and reproaches. Opportunities to earn money come your way and luck is on your side this month with regards your finances. You could fall prey to fatigue this month; it’s important to make time for yourself and for revising expectations from yourself and others.

He randomly puts one on each of your heads. Albert can see your hat and Barry’s, Barry can see yours, and you can see no one’s. None of you know what colour you have on your own head. The guard says, “if anyone call tell me 100% certainty the colour of your own hat, uttering no one else’s, you may all go free.” He tells Albert to answer first. Albert is a very honest and intelligent person, but he says, “I don’t know, there’s no way of knowing for sure.” The guard then asks Barry. Barry is also intelligent and rational, but he also cannot tell. He comes to you, and you say the colour of your hat with 100% certainty. The guard has no choice but to release all 3 of you. What colour hat were you wearing and how did you know?

Hungry Lion: A hungry lion was roaming through the jungle looking for something to eat. He came across two men. One was sitting under a tree and reading a book the other was typing away on his typewriter. The lion quickly pounced on the man reading the book and devoured him. Even the king of the jungle knows that readers digest and writers cramp.

Police arrested two kids yesterday, one was drinking battery acid, the other was eating fireworks. They charged one – and let the other one off. One day Mrs. Jones went to have a talk with the minister at the local church. "Reverend," she said, "I have a problem, my husband keeps falling asleep during your sermons. It's very embarrassing. What should I do?"

"I have an idea," said the minister. "Take this hatpin with you. I will be able to tell when Mr. Jones is sleeping, and I will motion to you at specific times. When I motion, you give him a good poke in the leg."

In church the following Sunday, Mr. Jones dozed off. Noticing this, the preacher put his plan to work. "And who made the ultimate sacrifice for you?" he said, nodding to Mrs. Jones. "Jesus!", Jones cried as his wife jabbed him the leg with the hatpin.

"Yes, you are right, Mr. Jones," said the minister. Soon, Mr. Jones nodded off again. Again, the minister noticed. "Who is your redeemer?" he asked the congregation, motioning towards Mrs. Jones. "God!" Mr. Jones cried out as he was stuck again with the hatpin.

"Right again," said the minister, smiling. Before long, Mr. Jones again winked off. However, this time the minister did not notice. As he picked up the tempo of his

sermon, he made a few motions that Mrs. Jones mistook as signals to bayonet her husband with the hatpin again. The minister asked, "And what did Eve say to Adam after she bore him his 99th son?"

Mrs. Jones poked her husband, who yelled, "You stick that goddamned thing in me one more time and I'll break it in half and shove it up your bottom!" "Amen," replied the congregation.

Two young boys walked into a pharmacy one day, picked out a box of tampons and proceeded to the checkout. The man at the counter asked the older boy, "Son, how old are you?" "Eight," the boy replied. The man continued, "Do you know what these are used for?" The boy replied, "Not exactly, but they aren't for me. They're for him. He's my brother. He's four. We saw on TV that if you use these, you would be able to swim and ride a bike. Right now, he can't do either one. "

Sad times indeed… I just tried to reach for my dog’s paw and he pulled it away. So I pretended I was reaching for the remote control.

Having a Halloween party? Why not make a witches brew... INGREDIENTS... 300g frozen raspberries, thawed 600ml cranberry juice 14g powdered gelatine 2L ginger ale 2L sparkling apple juice 6 Sweet snakes (maybe haribo)

Witches Wicked Maze... Can you help the Witch find her pet bat?

HOW TO MAKE...To make the frozen hand: Wash and rinse the outside of a rubber glove. Turn glove inside out and set aside. In a 1 litre measuring jug, combine the thawed raspberries and cranberry juice. Pour half of the raspberry mixture into a small saucepan. Sprinkle the gelatine over and let stand 2 minutes. Warm over low heat, stirring constantly, just until gelatine dissolves. Mix back into the reserved raspberry mixture in the measuring jug. Pour raspberry mixture into the inverted glove. Gather up the top of the glove and tie securely with kitchen string. Freeze until solid, or several days if possible. To serve: Carefully cut rubber glove away from frozen hand. Place frozen hand, palm side up, leaning against side of a large punch bowl. Pour in ginger ale and sparkling cider. Garnish with sweet snakes.

Brain Teaser

The Prisoners Hats – Answer: You are wearing a Black hat. To solve this brainteaser you have to think about what the other men couldn’t see.Albert could not have seen 2 white hats, or he would have known that his hat was black. Albert either saw a black and white hat or black and black hat so he had no certainty which colour he was wearing himself. Hearing Albert & knowing he could not have seen 2 white hats, the only way for Barry to have certainty is if he sees a white hat in front so he knows his own is black. However, Barry was also unsure, meaning you must be wearing a black hat.
