Ed’s Note..

Ah, the month of September, when things slowly return too normal on the Costa de Sol. Well I don’t know about you but I’ve found August to be the HOTTEST since living here with the air conditioning working overtime (I’m not looking forward to the electric bill…)! September has arrived and hopefully along with it those cooler nights ‘I hope’! There is soooooooo much to do this month with Mijas having its very own feria from the 5th to the 9th with lots going on up in the pueblo. Check out the “What’s on Guide” on page 62. Finally just to remind you it’s Halloween next month, and only four months to Christmas (where does the time go?) So if you would like to advertise in the most popular A5 magazine on the Costa del Sol give us a call and we can get you the best deal, we have fantastic offers on advertising at the moment. Keep smiling and have a great month!

CREATION...!

A Woman’s World

IN THE BEGINNING...

In the beginning God created Eve, and she had three breasts. After a month in the garden, God comes to visit Eve. ‘How’re things, Eve?’ he asks. ‘It is all so beautiful,’ she replies. ‘Everything is wonderful, but I just have this one problem. It’s these three breasts. The middle one pushes the other two out, and I’m constantly knocking them with my arms. They’re a real pain.’ ‘That’s a fair point,’ replies God, ‘I’ll fix that right away!’ So, God reaches down and removes the middle breast, tossing it into the bushes. Another month passes, and God once again visits Eve in the garden. ‘Well, MAN’S SECOND Eve, how’s my favourite creation?’ he asks. ‘Just fantastic,’ she replies, ‘but for one small oversight on your part. All the animals have a mate, except MISTAKE...! me.’ God thinks for a moment. ‘You know, Eve, you’re right! You do need a mate and I will immediately create Man from a part of you! Now, let’s see…Where did I put that useless tit?’

FIVE BIGGEST CBB’S HOUSEMATE FEES… Not bad for a few weeks' work! What sort of payday can you expect if you're a celeb hoping to make a quick buck? CBB bosses are always very tight-lipped about contracts and fees, but here are some of the rumoured salaries previous famous folk have taken home for sitting about looking a bit silly in a house for a few weeks... 1. Ray J – $1 MILLION: Perez Hilton revealed that he refused to return to the house because the producers couldn't offer him enough money as they'd blown their budget on Ray J. At $1m (about £810,000) plus a rumoured £24,000 for travel and hotel costs – Kim K's former sex tape partner and the scribe behind 'I Hit It First' is reportedly the highest-paid Celebrity Big Brother contestant ever. 2. David Gest – £600,000: Prior to Ray, David reportedly held the title of highest-paid CBB housemate. He was forced to leave the house early for medical reasons, and sadly passed away a few months after his appearance on the show in early 2016. 3. Speidi – $700,000: Alright, so it's not as much as Ray J, but Spencer and Heidi were rumoured to be picking up a pretty tidy paycheque for their stay in the house (we don't know whether their reported demands for fish and chips every day were honoured, though)! 4. Jedward – £500,000… EACH? Some reports have claimed that the spiky-haired puppy dogs pocketed a cool half a million pounds each when they first went into the house back in 2011. Can we assume they might have earned even more second time around? 5. Katie Price – £400,000: Not bad, eh? Katie Price was rumoured to be picking up £400,000 for her time in the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2015 – not shabby considering she was a late entrant and then won the whole thing. Katie wasn't even on top form as she had just had surgery, but we think she more than earned her fee by ensuring that Katie Hopkins lost out on the crown.

DEAR DIARY: DAY 1 All packed for the cruise ship all my nicest dresses, swimsuits, short sets. Really, really exciting. Our local Women's Institute, “The Late Bloomers” decided on this "all-girls" trip. It will be my first one... I can't wait!

"Oh Dolly!"

18

Dolly’s first Cruise...

DEAR DIARY: DAY 2 Entire day at sea, beautiful. Saw whales and dolphins. Met the Captain today he seems like a very nice man. DEAR DIARY: DAY 3 At the pool today. Did some shuffleboard, hit golf balls off the deck. Captain invited me to join him at his table for dinner. Felt honored and had a wonderful time. He is very attractive and attentive.

DEAR DIARY: DAY 4 Won $800.00 in the ship's casino. Captain asked me to have dinner with him in his own cabin. Had a scrumptious meal complete with caviar and champagne.

He asked me to stay the night, but I declined. Told him I could not be unfaithful to my husband. DEAR DIARY: DAY 5 Pool again today. Got sunburned, and I went inside to drink at piano-bar, stayed there for rest of day. Captain saw me, bought me several large drinks. Really is quite charming. Again asked me to visit his cabin for the night. Again I declined. He told me, if I did not let him have his way with me, he would sink the ship.....I was shocked.

DEAR DIARY: DAY 6 Today I saved 2600 lives..... Twice!

Facts that are Facts NOOOOOOO More... If you really think back to everything you learned as a kid, you'll probably realise how inaccurate a lot of the stuff was. Whether it was taught directly in the classroom or told by your parents, much of what we've always assumed as common knowledge is flawed. 1) Fortune cookies were first made in China: Fortune cookies were an American invention, not Chinese. There are debates about who was the originator, however. One well-known version is a Chinese immigrant living in Los Angeles created the cookie, while another claims that a Japanese immigrant started it in San Francisco. Regardless, it was made in California. 2) Toilet water flushes the opposite direction depending on the hemisphere: The Coriolis effect of direction changing on either side of the equator is indeed a real thing. It's the very reason cyclones spin differently in the northern and

southern hemisphere. But it's way too small to be noticed in a sink or toilet. 3) Pluto isn't a planet: We've had an interesting relationship with Pluto over the years, from the ninth rock from the sun to not being a part of the solar system altogether. Although the small planet was reclassified in 2006 as a dwarf planet, it's still technically a planet nonetheless. 4) Ben Franklin discovered electricity while flying a kite: There are several flaws in this story, one being that Ben's discovery occurred when he was flying a kite with a key tied to it. Some historians are skeptical as to if the kite thing even happened at all based on his vague reports. But regardless, Ben's hypothesis sparked curiosity (no pun intended) and encouraged others to confirm it themselves.

GADGETS &Gizmo’s Oddball is the world’s simplest digital instrument designed to be thrown at anything in the immediate vicinity. It is a bouncy ball that also happens to be a Bluetooth enabled motion and pressure sensitive trigger. Throw it at something (or give it a delicate tap) and you create beats within its app. Sounds can be overlaid, mixed, and have effects applied to them.

The Phantom Black Special Edition Xbox One controller features a translucent black design that fades to champagne gold on the lower half of the pad. The latter colour is also used for the d-pad, it has Bluetooth support and 3.5mm jack for plugging in a headset.

Quarter Arcades Pac-Man Replica Cabinet shrinks the classic game to 25 per cent of its original size. Limited to 10,000 units, the 430mm-high cabinet has the original art, a backlit marquee, and even a shrunk-down coin mechanism. Pac-Man zips about on a 5-inch colour TFT screen, and waka-waka noises come from a 3W built-in speaker.

Love vinyl, but feel it’s not retro enough? The Kozmophone resembles the classic gramophone, but incorporates a headphone stand that includes a holographic display and wireless phone charger. There’s Bluetooth in and RCA line out.

All the latest in the world of tech and gaming... The Nespresso Barista is capable of preparing everything from a piping-hot latte to an ice-cool lungo it’ll even do latte art if you’re feeling really extra. It works by hooking up to your phone via Bluetooth and downloading your favourite coffee recipes to its internal memory from the Nespresso app. Select the one you want using the Barista’s integrated touchscreen. You’ll need a separate machine to prepare the raw coffee part and the Barista does the rest.

The new Hydrus can capture 8–12K stitched spherical and 3D images from dim ocean depths by way of its ten Sony low-light cameras; eight positioned around its circular body, one on top, and one below. Good to 300m, the unit can be diver operated, or incorporated on to underwater robots.

The Crown is a new bluetooth speaker that can turn any place into a music venue. It has 41W output with reactive RGB mood-lighting. The strange part is the Crown’s hollow form is fully insulated against hot and cold. Meaning you can turn it into an ice bucket to cool your drinks, all without affecting sound quality.

Samsung has teamed up with Harman Kardon on a pair of sleek, premium co-branded cinema soundbars featuring not one but two types of 3D surround sound: the well-known Dolby Atmos and the relative rookie DTS:X, both of which add height effects to the standard surround sound array. They each come with a wireless subwoofer delivering low-end rumble, and one also features twin rear wireless speakers to provide a greater degree of sonic immersion.

Facts that are Facts NOOOOOOO More... 5) Bulls get angry at the sight of red: It's not the specific color that riles them up, it's the waving object. Bulls will react with the same amount of aggression to a moving flag of any shade. 6) Classical music makes you smarter: The "Mozart effect" is not a real thing, nor can any particular genre boost intelligence. A study was conducted to test this theory, which did result in improved spatial tasks when students listened to Mozart. Though it did help them create shapes in their minds, this effect only lasted for about 15 minutes. 7) There's no gravity in space: This may be the common notion, but there's actually a small amount of gravity everywhere in space. It's what keeps the moon and Earth in orbit, but it's not the reason things float in a spacecraft. Astronauts

float because they're in free fall. 8) Your nails keep growing after you die: Fingernails can only grow if new cells are produced, which is not possible long after death. Once the heart stops beating, nerve cells die within three to seven minutes. A corpse's nails might appear longer because the skin surrounding them shrivels. 9) You can see the Great Wall of China from space: It is not visible from space and is even more difficult to photograph, at least with the human eye in low Earth orbit. Parts of the man-made structure can be seen with radar imagery taken from space, but, the Wall's materials are too similar in color and texture to its surroundings to be distinguished. 10) We only use 10% of our brains: Wrong, wrong, wrong. It may be true that we're only using 10 percent of our brains when we're at rest, but for the most part, the brain is pretty much active at all times and humans use virtually every part of it.

Facts that are Facts NOOOOOOO More... 11) We only have five senses: We have many, many more. Proprioception (awareness of our bodies in space), hunger and thirst, the need to use the bathroom, and our inner ear's fluidfilled vestibular system (responsible for balance) are just a few other senses we have. 12) Camels store water in their humps: The ability for camels to survive for seven days without water isn't due to the fact that they store water in their humps. All their humps are fat, but the fat is what provides them with about three weeks of energy. Camels' kidneys and intestines are really the ones that retain water. 13) Dogs are colorblind: Man's best friend can see the world in more than just black and white. Dogs can actually see in combi-

34

nations of blue and yellow, which includes a lot of grayish-brown varieties. Their sight can be compared to a human with red-green colorblindness. 14) We eat eight spiders a year during our sleep: First of all, spiders have no interest in humans. And second, they'd probably be afraid of snoring, moving, breathing sleepers. It's not to say that swallowing a spider while you sleep is impossible, but that high number is definitely all myth. 15) Christopher Columbus thought the world was flat: Contrary to what you were probably taught at school, Christopher Columbus was apparently smarter than what we give him credit for. The Italian explorer knew the world was round even before embarking on his expedition. The fact that the world was a sphere was actually known 1,300 years before Columbus set sail, but it is true that many Europeans did start to believe the flat rumors during the Middle Ages.

10 EFFECTIVE WEIGHT LOSS REGAIN HABITS

LOSING WEIGHT IS A HARD THING TO DO BUT DID YOU KNOW THAT MOST DIETERS WILL REGAIN 50 PER CENT OF THEIR LOST WEIGHT IN THE FIRST YEAR AFTER LOSING IT? WELL IF YOU ARE GOING TO WORK THAT HARD AT LOSING THE WEIGHT IN THE FIRST PLACE YOU DON’T WANT TO PUT IT BACK ON AGAIN… HERE ARE 10 HABITS OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE LOST WEIGHT AND NOT GAINED AGAIN. Habit formation is the process by which new behaviors become automatic. If you instinctively reach for a bad food choice everytime you are hungry, you have a habit. By the same token, if you feel inclined to lace up your running shoes and hit the streets as soon as you get home, you've acquired a habit. Old habits are hard to break and new habits are hard to form. That's because the behavioral patterns we repeat most often are literally etched into our neural pathways. The good news is that, through repetition, it's possible to form and maintain new habits.

1) Keep to a meal routine: eat at roughly the same times each day. People who succeed at long-term weight loss tend to have a regular meal rhythm (avoidance of snacking and nibbling). A consistent diet regimen across the week and year also predicts subsequent longterm weight loss maintenance. 2) Go for healthy fats: choose to eat healthy fats from nuts, avocado and oily fish instead of fast food.

3) Walk off the weight: aim for 10,000 steps a day. Take the stairs and get off one tram stop earlier to ensure you’re getting your heart rate up every day. 46

4) Pack healthy snacks when 8) Think about your drinks: you go out: swap crisps and choose water and limit fruit biscuits for fresh fruit. juice to one small glass per day

HOW TO DEAL WITH PANIC ATTACKS

A panic attack is a feeling of sudden and intense anxiety. Panic attacks can also have physical symptoms, including shaking, feeling disorientated, nausea, rapid, irregular heartbeats, dry mouth, breathlessness, sweating and dizziness. The symptoms of a panic attack are not dangerous, but can be very frightening. They can make you feel as though you are having a heart attack, or that you are going to collapse or even die. Most panic attacks last somewhere from five minutes to half an hour.

HOW TO HANDLE A PANIC ATTACK:

It's important not to let your fear of panic attacks control you. Panic attacks always pass and the symptoms are not a sign of anything harmful happening. Tell yourself that the symptoms you're experiencing are caused by anxiety. Don't look for distractions. Ride out the attack. Try to keep doing things. If possible, don't leave the situation until the anxiety has subsided. Confront your fear. If you don't run away from it, you're giving yourself a chance to discover that nothing's going to happen. As the anxiety begins to pass, start to focus on your surroundings and continue to do what you were doing before. If you’re having a short, sudden panic attack, it can be helpful to have someone with you, reassuring you that it will pass and the symptoms are nothing to worry about.

BREATHING EXERCISE FOR PANIC ATTACKS

If you’re breathing quickly during a panic attack, doing a breathing exercise can ease your other symptoms. Try this: • Breathe in as slowly, deeply and gently as you can, through your nose. • Breathe out slowly, deeply and gently through your mouth. • Some people find it helpful to count steadily from one to five on each in-breath and each out-breath. • Close your eyes and focus on your breathing. • You should start to feel better in a few minutes. • You may feel tired afterwards.

caffeine, alcohol and smoking these can make panic attacks worse. Panic support groups like No Panic have useful advice about how you can effectively manage your attacks. Knowing that other people are experiencing the same feelings can be reassuring.

Psychological therapies like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) can identify and change the negative thought patterns that are feeding your panic attacks.

IS IT PANIC DISORDER?

If you feel constantly stressed and anxious, particularly about when your next panic attack may be, you may have panic disorder. People with panic disorder may avoid situations that might cause a panic WAYS TO PREVENT attack. They may also fear and avoid public spaces PANIC ATTACKS You need to try to work out what particular stress (agoraphobia). you might be under that could make your symptoms worse. INTRODUCING: BRIGITTE RETERS

Brigitte Reters is a trained and registered OSTEOPATH who is highly respected in her field and specialises in all three schools of osteopathy: STRUCTURAL - VISCERAL – SACROCRANEAL. She is excited to launch her chromo and low level laser therapy in conjunction with her osteopathy and is seeing excellent results.

Osteopathy is a holistic therapy based on the concept that the body can formulate its own remedies against diseases when it is in a normal structural relationship, has a normal environment and enjoys good nutrition. Any disturbance or trauma experienced by the body will sooner or later cause disorders or dysfunctions resulting in restriction of its correct movement thus aches, pains and discomfort.

Now also being offered as a stand-alone treatment or as part of a osteopathy session, Chromo and low Level Laser Therapy which is a Modern Energy Medicine with its roots in accupunture, Chinese medicine and reflexology.

50

Microsystems are representations of all our bodily structures on certain parts of our body, such as: Hands, feet, ears, teeth and head.

Some of them such as Chinese Meridians, Reflexology points and Auricula therapy have been known for thousands of years.

More recent findings, such as representations on finger tips, teeth and head are integrated here into this unique combination in order to balance the body´s energies and boost your general health and wellbeing. By using light therapy these points and areas are activated producing subtle changes in all bodily structures and can help easing lots of conditions, such as:

• All kind of pains and aches, joints, muscle, headaches • Emotional traumas of the past, that are causing psychosomatic illnesses • Addictions (tobacco, obesity, game addictions etc.) • Asthma & other pulmonary affections • Food intolerances, allergies • Dysfunctions of inner organs • Sleeping disorders • Eating disorders, weight loss • Depression, panic attacks, fears • Balancing of energy pathways, aura, nervous plexuses and chacras • And many more

All this is achieved in a completely natural and pain-free way (which is also needle free).

Brigitte Reters, is a Preferred Partner of “medilink” and a trained Osteopath who specialises in all three schools of osteopathy, as well as chromo and laser therapy. THE PARIS 2018 MOTORSHOW

The Paris Motorshow is one of the Worlds biggest motoring events and we take a preview of what’s on show next month…

Skoda's VRS performance brand will release its take on the Kodiaq SUV. Which has set the lap record for a seven-seat SUV at the Nurburgring. Powered by a twin-turbocharged 2.0-litre diesel offering 237bhp, prices are likely to be in excess of 50.000€.

Audi looks set for a big Paris show, this will be the first proper opportunity to get up close and personal with the new A1. The A4 saloon and Avant estate has been mildly face lifted too, while the A6 Avant range will expand with a tough Allroad version. Peugeot's stylish new 508 will make its public debut complete with plug-in hybrid versions of the firm's flagship. The 508 SW rivals the Skoda Superb Estate and the Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer and Prices and specs will be revealed at Paris along with full details of the PHEV model's range and performance.

The The A-Class Saloon will have its first public outing; it's a separate entity to the swoopier CLA and arrives with a more conventional compact saloon shape. Engines are shared directly with the latest AClass hatchback.

58

An all-new BMW 3 Series looks likely to be the biggest story of the Paris Motor Show. A fully electric variant of the next 3 Series is in the pipeline, though it probably won't be at Paris. Alongside it, we'll get to see the new X5 SUV and Z4 roadster for the first time in public as well.

THE RISE OF THE DOLL OR THE DUMMY... OR, HEEEERE'S CHUCKY.... In the 19th century ventriloquism became popular entertainment. At first it was treated as a conjuring trick: people paid to see the technical ability of the performer. Instead of talking to dolls, early ventriloquists had conversations with unseen people such as chimney sweeps up chimneys, or somebody in another room. An important aspect of the act was that the invisible person 'moved' - so the chimney-sweep's voice got more distant and muffled as he climbed the chimney – or, in the case of the 'boy-in-the-box', the voice was either muffled or clear depending on whether the lid was open or closed. The use of dolls was scorned as unmanly - real masters needed no such assistance. Then the macabre Victorians came along…

60

In 1800 the big draw in London was one Mr Henderson’s impression of killing a calf, which included the conversation of the butchers, the struggling and bellowing, the quick breathing of the frightened animal, the whetting of the knife, the plunge, the gush of blood, and the death throes. The puppet-onthe-knee routine established itself during the Victorian era because of Music Hall variety shows; each act needed to be stripped down so as to get on and off stage quickly. The conventional pairing of a ventriloquist and his cheeky friend, in which the dummy cracks most of the jokes, was developed in the 1880s by Fred Russell and 'Coster Joe'. By 1900, these acts were the norm. Arthur Prince was another famous act, who was known for drinking a glass of water while his doll Jim sang – an effect achieved by having an assistant offstage do the singing. Jim was the first object to be televised by John Logie Baird, and when Prince died, Jim was buried with him.

Saturn resumes its direct motion in your skies on September 6th, this energetic change helps you clarify your purpose, renew your personal and professional goals and overcome quite easily a series of obstacles that seemed impossible to overcome. Mercury, Saturn The Sun and form an astrological configuration called a Pyramid (or Grand Trine). From the 23rd it is foretelling a particularly favorable term as far as professional and money-related things are concerned. You have stamina and lots of energy this month, and look toward the future with optimism and confidence why not get out and about take up a new sport or get to the gym, whatever you do you will excel at it! Aquarius, during September 2018, your love life seems to take a much smoother path; your home life is much calmer, attitudes are more diplomatic and oriented toward harmony with your other half. Single Aquarians are also favoured by the transits of September. During this term you’re willing to see the full half of the glass, which inspires in you a more constructive attitude. Professionally and moneywise, things aren’t bad at all; but maybe during the first half of September 2018 it could be tougher to see it, because you expect too much from yourself and others. Maybe you expect to get too much money from a joint business, and can’t enjoy the fact you’re cashing in on it because you were hoping to get more. You’ve not been feeling that great recently but you get back on your feet quickly, after being stressed and putting in too much physical or mental effort. Pisces, the Sun is in your sign until September 23rd 2018; it’s also accompanied by Mercury this means that your love life is a significant topic during the month. Make more time for your better half, get involved in joint pursuits, and talk about situations that were left unsolved in the past, because odds are very good for things to go well in the future. Certain professional ties abroad could mean you traveling for your job. As far as money is concerned, things get more complicated with the return of Mars near the South Node. You’re predisposed toward making major money-related mistakes, despite the fact that opportunities to earn do pop up. Be very careful about your sources of income! Don’t get lured into obscure financial maneuvers! You have a lot of energy this month; but it can lead frustrations. It’s important to properly channel your efforts, in order to be constructive and efficient. Aries, your love life is full of events this September with many possibilities. Mercury is making a harmonious aspect with Venus this month. Look out for many opportunities if you are single Arians why not approach someone you like? If you’re starting a new relationship with someone you are captivated and believe it might work out for the long run, you could talk about making it official. September 2018 is very productive for your professional life, and when it comes to money too. The first two weeks of the month are particularly promising when it comes to success and making decisive steps toward material stability. That inspires and motivates you to use your resources in a more efficient manner and makes you stand out in your professional and social life. This month sees you full of beans and bubbling with energy your success are largely dependant upon a well-rested, healthy body, with a clear mind.

Taurus, the Sun your sign until September 23rd 2018, and Mercury. One might say this gives you the gift of the gab… Making romantic declarations which straight from the soul. Your love live brightens up, and singletons find numerous occasions to flirt and interact with potential partners. You are on fire professionally this month… Just remember that in every situation you can be successful. It’s a good term for standing out due to talent, launch some product or promote yourself. If you’re self-employed, you might very well close a very profitable deal. Ties to others can go from one extreme to the other. Be diplomatic, particularly when you don’t really know what you’re after yourself! Some aspects during September 2018 push you toward change and revolution. But the fear of change can lead you to stress, which can bring about energetic unbalance.

Gemini, Mars is in your sign until September 11th 2018, with Venus. This astrological configuration speaks of a term of intense attraction and passion. The first week of September things might get out of hand as far as your love life is concerned; you may have a difficult time managing the situation. Great love can easily turn into bitter animosity or can lead to great resentment. The rest of the months though you feel the need to free yourself from obligations and rules, and try looking at things from a new perspective. September 2018 is favorable for professional pursuits and earning money. You might even afford to buy something you’ve been wanting for a long time. Make the most of September’s opportunities in order to improve your lifestyle, not to make extravagant purchases! You’re also in good shape this month. But it wouldn’t hurt to work out more or be more active, because it helps clear your head.

Cancer, your love life is marked by intensity and passion this month. You might go through extremes in terms of emotions, attractions, jealousy or sleepless nights. If you are single it’s not impossible to experience sudden passion with someone you’ve known for a while but only thought of as a friend or mere acquaintance. Even in solid couples there might be some arguments during the second half of September. Be patient and avoid unpleasant topics of discussion or reproaches. During September 2018 you get the chance to clear up situations that give you headaches ever since May. You should steer clear of intrigue and the temptation to make a quick buck, it will not work out as you expect. You have a lot of energy this month. It becomes important to channel your energy toward constructive pursuits, why not take up a new sport or get back to the gym.

Leo, with Mars returning to a direct motion this month, your love life is livened up. You’ll find opportunities to solve issues that started out in June; but they won’t end easily. So you might deal with arguments and not be able to dodge making some decisions. You can make progress professionally speaking this month; maybe a job you’ve been after becomes available, or something improves at work in your ties to higher-ups. Careful about your predisposition toward creating tensions wherever you go or initiating change for the sake of it! f you manage to keep your nerves under control, you can come out a winner on all accounts. You don’t have much to worry about, as far as the shape you’re in is concerned. Leos who suffer from older conditions may see things improve. Virgo, Mercury is in your sign between September 6th and 22nd 2018 you’ll find it much easier to step into the spotlight, get over your reticence or shyness and enjoy a more active love life. It’s easier to express yourself and your feelings, much easier than usual. If you’re single, it might be the right time to make the first step, initiate a conversation with the person you like or confess your feelings for the one you’ve been seeing for a while. You’re professionally hot, hot, hot… You seem to be better than ever at negotiating and solving some pressing money-related matters. Careful how you organise your priorities, so you don’t end up spending money on meaningless things and waste precious time! The stars boost your confidence in your own devices and you should move forward with the help of this confidence, instead of doubting yourself at every step. Libra, infidelity might be one of the main themes of September 2018. Mars has you flirting making seductions and playing amorous games. These can give you energy in order to rekindle the flame of passion. But some Librans might meet an older love or fall for someone who was trouble in the past too. Mars is around the South Node, and this isn’t a good sign for your love life particularly for those who choose to return to old bad habits, cheating etc... Venus along with Jupiter enter your sign on the 9th. This points to more confidence in your personal worth, but also identifying with material values. So you tend to exaggerate when it comes to expenses, think everything is permitted and that you can afford anything, however expensive it might be. Avoid excesses of any kind: either spending too much, or straying. Seek balance get your yin and yang in alignment!

Scorpio, Venus enters your sign on September 9th, joining Jupiter. One might say that your power of seduction is much amplified, which is why your love life full of events. Mercury enters your sign on September 6th and 22nd & 23rd. This provides single Scorpions with every chance of meeting someone attractive through their circle of friends or through a more active social life. Professionally, during September 2018 you’re doing better in team or group projects, collaborations with bigger companies etc. As far as money is concerned, you enjoy success first and foremost because during September 2018 you’re wiser at managing more realistically your income and expenses. On September 9th, Venus joins Jupiter in your sign, and this astrological context gives you cheer and optimism throughout the month.

Sagittarians, on September 6th Mercury enters your sign, expect a spot light to be shone on all your personal and professional relationships. Be very careful how you express your feelings this month as at some points everything you say could be misconstrue. Keep your head on regardless of circumstances! Otherwise you risk creating a bad mood for yourself and pushing away close ones. You aren’t feeling particularly sociable during September 2018, so any singletons out there risk missing out on important opportunities to meet someone special. September is particularly favorable for fulfilling professional and moneyrelated goals. Older projects seem to flow seamlessly or you get money that you thought won’t ever come your way. Your mood is generally good, although you’re more predisposed to anger and therefore stress.

Howard had felt guilty all day long. No matter how much he tried to forget about it, he couldn’t. The guilt and sense of betrayal was overwhelming. But, every once in a while, he’d hear that soothing voice trying to reassure him: ‘Howard. Don’t worry about it. You aren’t the first doctor to sleep with one of his patients and you won’t be the last.’ But invariably the other voice would bring him back to reality: ‘Howard. You’re a veterinarian.’ 72

Ageing Mildred was a 93-year-old woman who was particularly despondent over the recent death of her husband, Earl. She decided that she would kill herself and join him in death. Thinking that it would be best to get it over with quickly, she took out Earl’s old Army pistol and made the decision to shoot herself in the heart, since it was already so badly broken. Not wanting to miss the vital organ, she called her doctor’s office to inquire as to just exactly where the heart would be on a woman. The doctor said, “Your heart would be just below your left breast.” Later that night, Mildred was admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her left kneecap.
