WORLDWIDE TRAVEL SOLUTIONS Marrakech is on most peoples’ bucket list and for good reason but what should be experienced to make it a trip you will truly never forget? 1. Djemma el-Fna: The infamous central souk (or market) that every tourist or resident without doubt, has to experience. It is a labyrinth of stalls and passages. Head for the centre, aim to get lost and that’s where you will bag yourself a bargain – not the outskirts where all the other tourists stay. Berber carpets, spices, clothing, dried fruits and nuts, woodwork, the list is endless of all the exciting items on display. It’s a shopper’s paradise – but go prepared to haggle and braced for the chaos! 2. Medina: The medina is the inner city and it surrounds and winds off in all directions from Djemma el-Fna. This is where you will find the best places for eating locally. Try a stall in a wall, taste the local tajine, sip tea in the evening surrounded by the sweet smell of shisha and street performers, snake charmers and acrobats (remember to take a handful of coins; a few dirhams will suffice). Marrakech is a Muslim country, it’s not about heavy drinking nightlife, but cafes will entertain you long into the evening. 3. Hammam: Moroccan hammams are famous the world round. Many hotels will have their own and there will be local hammams in the medina too. Definitely worth a try for a more relaxing afternoon after all your sightseeing. 4. Stay in a Riad: Riads are small, local houses converted into hotels and offer an authentic, intimate stay. Service is notoriously excellent and they are central too! 5. Cooking Class: If you have a passion for cooking this is a dream destination for a local cooking class. Learn to cook tajines from scratch, experiment with local flavours and pick yourself up some local spices before heading home so you can impress your friends on your return.

CAR PARKING: The smallest kerbside space successfully reversed into by a woman, was one of 19.36m equivalent to three standard parking spaces, by Mrs. E. Simpkins (GB) driving an unmodified Mini Convertable on 12th October 2017. She started the manoeuvre at 11:15am with the help of assisted parking (which was ignored) in Ropergate, Pontefract & successfully parked within three feet of the pavement, 8 hours 14mins later. There was slight damage to the bumpers and wings of her own and the two adjoining cars, as well as shop frontage and two lampposts.

INCORRECT DRIVING: The longest journey completed with the handbrake on, was one of 313 miles from Stranraer to Hollyhead, by Dr. Julie Thorn, at the wheel of a Ford Focus on 2nd April 2019. Dr. Thorn smelled burning two miles into her journey at Aird, but pressed on to Hollyhead with smoke billowing from the rear wheels. This journey also holds the records for the longest completed with the right indicator flashing.

TRAFFIC LIGHT COSMETICS: The longest spell spent oblivious to traffic lights

whilst applying make up was one of 1hr 51mins 38secs. By Miss J. Dobson at a road junction in the centre of Preston on the 1st August 2019. Miss Dobson, a piano teacher, beautified herself through 212 cycles of the light, creating a tailback of irate motorists stretching 28 miles towards Leeds.

GROUP TOILET VISIT: The record for the largest group of women to visit a toilet simultaneously is held by 147 workers at the dept. of Social Security, Long Benton. At their annual Christmas celebration at a nightclub in Newcastle upon Tyne on 12th December 2018 Mrs. Beryl Crabtree got up to go to the toilet and was immediately followed by 146 other members of the party. Moving a mass the group entered the toilet at 9:52pm and after waiting for everyone to finish, emerged 2hrs 37mins later.

Mr Wingfield was arrested and charge with a public order offence 17 mins into his record attempt, but arresting officers had to wait a further 19mins 24sec before taking him back to the station.

HOTTEST CURRY EATEN: Many claims are made about the ferocity of curries eaten, but in the main they are difficult to substantiate. The hottest verifiable curry eaten was an XXX Hot Chicken Murg Thaal with extra chillies consumed by George Wingfield (GB) at the Bengal Tiger Restaurant, Knutsford on 22nd August 2019. The curry was reportedly so hot that between kitchen and table it burst into flames, singeing the waiter’s eyebrows. BIGGEST FART: The largest and most catastrophic fart was one dropped by Mr. George Wingfield (GB) in the car park of the Dog and Duck, Knutsford, on the morning of the 23rd August 2019. Suffering from terrible guts Mr. Wingfield gingerly attempted to squeeze one out whilst bending to pick up his car keys, but the resulting flatulant explosion blew his entire digestive tract out of his bottom. Attending firemen hosed down his smoking guts for two hours before paramedics with breathing apparatus could begin the process of pushing them back up.

A Man’s World

FUNNY TIPS FOR US FELLOWS... 10 THINGS YOU ONLY DO WHEN DRUNK...

1: THINK YOU CAN PERFORM STUNTS: when you've had too much alcohol the world looks like Lara Croft's obstacle course from Tomb Raider 2. On weekends A&E departments are filled with accidents that people have had on a night out never mind New Year’s Eve. From broken ankles from drunken races to broken necks from seven story falls, hospitals have seen them all. Some aren't just daredevil stunts either: When you've had a few too many it's easy to think that you're Johnny Knoxville to impress some girls, but you're probably just going to end up sat on the ground in pain wishing you'd thought it through. 2: FALLING OVER: This goes hand in hand with the above. When you reach the falling stage of drunk you know that there's no going back. Once you can't stand, that's it, everything else is a write off. A lot of us try our best not to get in this state, but waking up with pub wounds is always a sign of a good night out.

44

3: EAT A KEBAB: There's just something so appealing to drunk people about a sweaty chunk of meat that's been rotating, heating up and cooling down for probably days on end. You usually wouldn't go anywhere near one of them sober, but a couple of shots and your taste buds suddenly mutate. It does however contain vegetables, does that make it healthier than fried chicken? No. But if you haven't eaten a vegetable since Christmas dinner you’ll feel like it’s the healthier option. It’s not.

4: STEAL A CONE: Construction and drunk people, two very common things in town centres that always lead to the inevitable. Like an ancient relic it sits there, just waiting for somebody with enough guts to come along and take it. Every day we walk past them, and don't look twice. But when we're drunk a cone has many new purposes. It’s a perfect microphone for rapping on a quiet neighbourhood street at 3am, it's the Olympic torch, it's a lightsaber... the list goes on. 12 WAYS TO HAVE YOUR HEALTHIEST SUMMER YET

CONTINUED FROM LAST MONTH... Summer has finally arrived! It’s time to whip out the BBQs, dig out that swimwear and jet off on holiday for some well-deserved chill time on the beach. But for many of us, summer also brings with it temptations of excessive sun exposure, sweet treats (hello ice cream!), hay fever and other health woes – so it's just as important to look after ourselves in the warmer weather. Lucky for you, we've put together our top ten tips for staying happy and healthy this summer – keep these on your radar and enjoy your holidays guilt-free…

A Guilt Free Summer!

GET SWIMMING!

EAT WELL BY THE POOL

PROTECT YOUR HAIR

TAKE UP A NEW HOBBY

Why not try a summer dip in the pool? Or better yet in the sea. Start by swimming for 10 minutes and increase the time over the following weeks by doing front crawl, breaststroke or backstroke to mix up your cardio workout. A 30-minute session will burn almost 400 calories! If swimming laps isn’t your thing, you could try a water aerobics class. Our hair suffers a lot during the summer. Constant heat, sun damage and chlorine takes a toll on our hair and can leave it feeling limp and dull after the holidays. Try a clarifying shampoo to remove the chlorine and any excess product or sun cream, before using a conditioning treatment to add moisture back in. If you can, avoid heat styling.

48

When the sun is beating down, the idea of seeking out the nearest ice cream stand is seriously tempting. There's nothing wrong with a treat in the heat, but coming prepared with a healthy lunch will mean you get the nutrition you need. Fill your cool box with bottled water, sandwiches, vegetable sticks, hummus and salads. Summer is the perfect time to take up a new activity. Gardening is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and will actually help you burn some calories! Not your thing? Take inspiration from Wimbledon and try your hand at some tennis. Yoga or Pilates is the perfect alternative for some alone time in the garden, too bring on the sun salutations..

HAVE A HEALTHY HOLIDAY

While totally needed, paradoxically there are a percentage of people who will immediately get sick on vacation. It can be because their suppressed immune system finally wakes up after the stress melts away to fight a chronic infection. Sometimes, they enter the vacation in such poor health that the new environment carries health risks that can easily penetrate their body and make them sick. I think the best thing to do is not worry about this but be aware of what your vacation might reveal about your health. Also take vitamin C a week before departing to see off aeroplane bugs.

HAVE FUN!

Beyond all this, remember to have fun this summer. Choose to have more fun in your life. Whatever that means, whatever you have to do, go and get more fun out of each day.

WHAT’S AN UNHEALTHY GUT? HOW GUT HEALTH AFFECTS YOU…

The gut microbiome: The incredible complexity of the gut and its importance to our overall health is a topic of increasing research in the medical community. Numerous studies in the past two decades have demonstrated links between gut health and the immune system, mood, mental health, autoimmune diseases, endocrine disorders, skin conditions, and cancer. Our digestive system was used to be considered a relatively “simple” body system, comprised essentially of one long tube for our food to pass through, be absorbed, and then excreted. The term “gut microbiome” refers specifically to the microorganisms living in your intestines. A person has about 300 to 500 different species of bacteria in their digestive tract. While some microorganisms are harmful to our health, many are incredibly beneficial and even necessary to a healthy body. Having a wide variety of these good bacteria in your gut can enhance your immune system function, improve symptoms of depression, help combat obesity, and provide numerous other benefits.

7 SIGNS OF AN UNHEALTHY GUT...

Many facets of modern life such as high stress levels, too little sleep, eating processed and high-sugar foods, and taking antibiotics can all damage our gut microbiome. This in turn may affect other aspects of our health, such as the brain, heart, immune system, skin, weight, hormone levels, ability to absorb nutrients, and even the development of cancer. There are a number of ways an unhealthy gut might manifest itself. Here are seven of the most common signs:

EVEr wondEr……. ·why am I so tIrEd and stIff?”

My daughter aged 9 has begun playing and enjoying athletics at school and often returns from school feeling tired but never stiff, as muscular soreness or what is technic ally called delayed onset of muscular stress (DOMs) doesn’t effect her. Being young and healthy this painful affliction won’t bother her until she is older but sadly it becomes a very obvious problem once we get passed the age of 50, ES-PECIALLY if we exercise very little. SUMMER TART

Just think oversized millefeuille! It’s very easy to make, but impressive enough for a special gathering.

Ingredients:

Method:

• 2 x 320g Ready-rolled all-butter puff pastry •100g Icing sugar •750g Tub mascarpone •600ml Double cream •2 tsp Vanilla extract

•200g Raspberries, a few halved •200g Blackberries, a few halved •1 Large mango, thinly sliced •6 Nectarines or peaches, sliced •4 Passion fruits seeds & pulp scooped out •Handful small mint leaves

1) Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Unroll 1 pastry sheet, but leave it on the parchment. Place it on a baking tray, dust with 2 tbsp icing sugar, then cover with another sheet of parchment and another baking tray. Pour baking beans into the tray to weigh it down, or use empty cans. Bake for 30 mins, then check if the pastry is golden all over. If not, return for another 5 mins or so. Repeat with the other pastry sheet (or cook both together if you have enough trays). Once out of the oven, trim the edges with a large, sharp knife. Leave to cool. 2) Softly whip the mascarpone, cream, vanilla and remaining icing sugar, then transfer half to a disposable piping bag fitted with a 1.5cm round nozzle (or just snip off the corner). Pipe blobs of the mascarpone cream over the surface of one piece of pastry, right up to the edges. Top with half the fruit and dust with a little icing sugar. 3) Top with the second piece of pastry, more mascarpone cream (refilling the bag when you need to), the remaining fruit, a dusting of icing sugar and, finally, some mint leaves. Use a serrated knife to cut through the layers without squashing the whole tart. Best served within an hour or two, but leftovers will keep for up to two days in the fridge.

MUSCLE CARS...

Looking at all the muscle cars that they are reproducing in America brings back some memories, but do you remember any of these? One of the most amazing muscle cars, Dodge Coronet used Hemi engines in 487 Coronet R/Ts. Just four convertible cars had been made - two in each 1967 and 1970.

The Pontiac GTO Judge was an upgraded model reduced to a minimum to make it light weight and had a 455 cubic inch engine. The rarest model was the convertible. Only 72 were made and it was killed off when the US omission laws became much stricter in 1971.

The Chevrolet Corvette L88 was specifically designed for running on the racing tracks and came with a 427 cubic inch engine. It wasn’t sold to the dealerships and public for the reason that a car with such power of 435 hp could not be considered safe to drive on in streets. Only 196 were made.

One of the best-known Plymouth models is also one of the rarest, in 1970 just 135 of the Hemi Superbird were produced. Designed as a racing car. People loved the high mounted, spoiler and its horn which made the same sound as the Looney Tunes character Roadrunner.

Only 57 Ford The Fairlane 500 R-Code were made in 1967. It became the inventive muscle car design of Ford and later the inspiration for the Gran Torino and the Cobra.

Capricorn, you’re in an optimistic and confident mood, with positive effects happening all over the place but especially with regard to your love life. If there are difficulties or uncertainties in your relationship, you don’t take things so tragically anymore, and are much more enthusiastic about finding constructive solutions to any issue. If you are single your efforts to win over someone you’ve been dreaming of for a long time will be handsomely rewarded. Beginning on September 14th you will benefit from a New Moon in your sign this is the best time for new beginnings and new professional directions. Don’t hesitate! After September 18th, put your money where your mouth is.! You should avoid bouts of pig headedness because it can end up costing you when it comes to money. To get back you zest for life this month go outdoors more, work out, and try to learn new things; step out of your usual circles. Aquarius, the hot topics this month will be played out during the first two weeks of September 2019 you have the desire to take a relationship to a deeper level. Single Aquarians get a lot of fun this month, and don’t settle for less. Even if physical desires are intense, you now seek people with whom they can build deeper relationships. September is a great time to get a loan or pay off some debt, depending on your situation. It’s also possible that your other half’s income may improve offering you support for a series of personal projects. Make the most of the energy of these transits in order to clear up some misunderstandings or disputes related to money. Some friends are slippery, if not even deceitful, when it comes to money. Don’t allow yourself to be fooled by oversized promises! Feelings might often be overwhelming, but expressing them doesn’t do much for you. Pisces is you aren’t married yet then contemplate it and the responsibilities that it involves. Some of you opt for an excessive social life, always on the go, always partying, which will make their other half suspicious. Whether you’re single or married you’re a mysterious and charismatic this month. During this term you can bring a breath of new life into your relationship. On the work and money front be careful about how you manage your joint budget in a relationship. Try to find the middle ground between absolute stinginess and a predisposition towards throwing money out the window! The New Moon of September 28th gives you the necessary energy to reorganise your money. Not all propositions from friends or certain groups or from some multinational company are in your best interest. You’re in good health this month. If you have some issues why not talk it out with someone? Aries, the first half of September 2019 is very calm when it comes to your love life. You don’t have much time or patience for frivolities, because you have a lot of responsibilities weighing down on you particularly when it comes to your professional life. If you are single then you may start a meaningful relationship toward the end of September as you benefit from the fresh forces of the New Moon. September is particularly favorable from a professional and material point of view, because you’re willing to put in the effort and focus on very precise professional goals. Money comes in with more ease if you choose your words wisely. Steer clear of intrigue, and choose your allies patiently and carefully! Now is a great time to work out your work/life balance because otherwise you risk experiencing fatigue. Taurus, you’re in for a very dynamic month this September when it comes to your love life, you find it much easier to express your feelings in a more romantic manner. It’s easier for you to start new relationships; to enjoy love or to get out of the rut if you’re part of an older couple. You have to work hard, put in a lot of effort, and set the right priorities before you earn money this month, but you also need to be realistic when it comes to your abilities and value. If you try to impose your values onto your higher-ups, coworkers or collaborators, there might be some conflict towards end of month. Careful when it comes to your predisposition towards making bold plans based on loaned money. In September 2019 there are no morale or health issues in sight. You’re full of initiative, and your practical sense helps you achieve concrete success.

Gemini, during the first half of September 2019 you tend to be more focused on the past. If you’re single you’ll regain your thirst for dating. It’s the best time to approach someone you like and express how you feel. If you are married you know how to rekindle the flame with your other half, and the time spent together brings you joy and gives you butterflies… and what a lovely feeling that is! On the work front you might receive the same empty promises that were made to you in January or March. It’s time to wake up and see things for what they truly are. On September 14th, the Full Moon might bring some of you a moment of success, or a great income, or an increase in popularity. After the melancholy of the first half of the month after September 14th you have fun, work out and start playing some sport.

Cancer, there are no noticeable changes in your love life this month; it’s more of the same old, same old... If you are single then people may misinterpret the signs you are trying to give out. You should try to relax and be more confident. If you’re attracted to someone, don’t try to push things into a particular direction be brave enough to take at least a little bit of a risk. Professionally speaking, you seem to be in for some measure of stress, clashes of egos etc. There won’t be much progress when it comes to money, maybe more dubious promises instead. It wouldn’t hurt to be patient and reduce expenses as much as possible. When it comes to your career and money, it’s much easier to get what you want if you don’t lose your sense of measure. In September 2019, you might go through some spiritual dilemmas why not take up meditation of yoga to center yourself again.

Leo, on September 18th, Saturn resumes its direct motion through your sign. So you can expect some obstacles to vanish and you feel like new perspectives open up. You expect a bit too much when it comes to your love life, and this can result in painful endings (often painful to your ego only. If you are single before making grand plans, wait and see some concrete evidence first. If you’re thinking about a former love, don’t get your hopes up before testing out the waters first – laugh a little, but talk about your chances of getting back together. Your career seems to be blossoming, and so are your funds this month. During the second half of the month, focus on studies and exchanges of ideas; gather information you need for your long-term projects, and share your theories with higher-ups – they’ll be a hit! You’re in good health this month, working out can be good for you, but don’t take pointless risks. Virgo, you want more independence and even more freedom during the first half of September 2019. You are committed to making radical changes in your life and don’t really want to get bogged down in romantic relationships, emotional commitments etc. If you are single you are not really looking to change that status this month. The fact that Saturn resumes its direct motion in your sign means that it’s easier to clear up emotional aspects. Professionally, you make a great impression and you’re persuasive, which improves your image and contributes to improving your income this month. On September 14th, Mercury, Venus and the Sun transit your sign and are particularly favourable if you are looking for a promotion, or finding a betterpaying job. Careful about a predisposition towards overestimating your forces; it can make you promise more than you can actually deliver! Libra, September starts out with a lot of planets transiting through your sign: the Sun, Venus, Mercury and Mars. So your love life is tough during this time, and it seems to be haunted by all sorts of fears, past stories or complications. In order to reach you might feel the need to end a somewhat toxic relationship or one in which you’ve been pointlessly complacent for too long. On the work front the second half of September is more favourable than the first, when it comes to career and money. Until September 14th it would be better to work on strategies, perfecting your “attack” plans in order to improve income and your professional life. Make time for yourself, prepare patiently for changes you want to make, for renewals the New Moon brings for you as of September 28th. You should take care of your soul this month; in order to see more clearly what is going on in your personal or professional life.

Scorpio, during the first part of September 2019, your social life is very active; if you are single then this status will change very fast. The planetary transits of this term support you getting to know new people, so you won’t want for activity in your love life. During the second half of the month, don’t give in to the temptation of cheating on your other half! Until September 23rd, the Sun is in your sign this means that collective pursuits and projects are still profitable; you stand out the most when around others, and you assert yourself as an authority in your area or work. Make the most of September’s energy in order to get ahead of your competition or coworkers! But be very careful about managing your money or making budget demands from your bosses! Don’t overdo it! Try resting more this month, taking it easier, trying to relax and simplifying your life.

Sagittarius, this month see your love life take center stage. If you are thinking about making a relationship official, try to consider the pros and cons of that important step. If you are in a relationship then now is a great time form showing your other half that you appreciate everything they do for you and you don’t take things for granted. From September 14th to the 23rd there is notable progress when it comes to career development and ties to higher-ups. Your hard work can go a long way, and around middle of the month it would be a good idea to change strategies or maybe your professional direction. If you bring out all the creativity that you have and don’t hesitate to use your talents for the greater good, you can become highly appreciated and even famous. You have a lot of energy, which can also cause a predisposition towards thinking of yourself as some kind of superhero, and expecting too much from others.

WHO DUNNIT? A wealthy man lives alone in a small cottage. Being partially disabled, he had everything delivered to his cottage. The mailman was delivering a letter one Thursday when he noticed that the front door was ajar. Through the opening he could see the man's body lying in a pool of dried blood. When a police officer arrived he surveyed the scene. On the porch were two bottles of warm milk, Monday's newspaper, a catalog, flyers, and unopened mail. The police officer suspects it was foul play.

The Russian President Vladimir Putin called Boris Johnson with an emergency: “Our largest condom factory has exploded!” the Russian President cried. “My people’s favorite form of birth control! This is a true disaster!” “Vladimir, the British people would be happy to do anything within their power to help you” replied the Prime Minister. “I do need your help,” said Vladimir. “Could you possibly send 1,000,000 condoms as soon as possible to tide us over?” “Certainly my dear chap! I’ll get right on it!” said Boris. “Oh, and one more small favour, please?” said Vladimir. “Yes?” “Could the condoms be red in colour and at least 10” long and 4” in diameter?” said Vladimir. “That will be no problem,” replied the Prime Minister and, with that, Johnson hung up and called the CEO of Durex. “I need a favour, you’ve got to make 1,000,000 condoms right away and send them to Russia.” “Consider it done,” said the CEO. “Great!” said Johnson. Now listen, they have to be red in color, 10" long and 4” in diameter.” “Easily done. Anything else?” “Yes,” said the Prime Minister, “print, ‘Made In England, Size. Medium’ on each one.”

A few moments later, the captain came back on the intercom and said, “Ladies and gentleman, I am so sorry if I scared you earlier, but while I was talking, the
