Air Source Heat Pumps

With the recent ambitious Government decarbonisation targets and rising costs of gas, there has never been a better time to consider air source heat pumps. This April a new government grant scheme comes into place to help homeowners to install air source heat pumps and air to air source heat pumps. The main difference between the two systems is that you can have air cooling as well as heat with air-toair source, rather than just heat with air source. Findlay Heating and Cooling Ltd are one of the most experienced companies in the area offering this new technology. An air source heat pump is a reverse cycle refrigeration system that extracts heat from the ambient air and compresses it, converting it through a heat exchanger into the water used in the heating primary circuits. For the system to work efficiently certain criteria needs to be met.

Findlay Heating and Cooling Ltd also offer hybrid systems which incorporates the use of an air to water air source heat pump and either a gas or oil-fired boiler. Marcus Findlay says, “You must get a reliable, experienced company to quote for the correct system for your property to avoid costly mistakes. We offer a free of charge survey with a heat loss calculation to ensure the system will work.” Many new systems incorporate underfloor heating; however, Marcus says this is not essential but the size of the radiators in your rooms will need to be increased. “The future with decarbonisation for the domestic heating industry will be a lot of electric heating, we’re in the midst of a bit of an industrial revolution at the moment. Things are in a period of change. It’s really important that people find a company that can embrace this and have the knowledge to put new technologies into practice. Findlay Heating and Cooling Ltd have the experience to make sure that all of your heating requirements will meet ongoing government regulations.” Findlay Heating & Cooling Ltd are gas safe registered, OFTEC registered, OFTEC for working with oil registered and on the FGas Register for working with refrigerants. Marcus is also a Valliant Advanced Mastertec recommended installer with homesafe qualifications. For more information about air source heat pumps please call Marcus on 07585 446563
