AccessData shows off ResolutionOne

Incident resolution solutions firm AccessData is exhibiting its ResolutionOne Platform at HP’s booth CLD-7, located in hall 6 of Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), at GITEX Technology Week.

Ruckus Wireless has announced that Al Jammaz has been appointed as a Value Added Distributor (VAD) for Saudi Arabia.

the areas of networking, data and voice communications, computers, servers, storage, wireless mobility and broadband access.

Through the partnership, Al Jammaz will work with their team of resellers to create awareness for Ruckus in the region, fulfill orders through stock availability, manage events to educate resellers on Ruckus products and solutions and use their sales and technical capabilities to meet customer needs in the region.

Veeam reduces DWTC storage consumption

Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has reduced backup storage consumption by 50% due to Veeam, having deployed Veeam Backup Management Suite.

DWTC has since achieved availability of its virtual environment and met recovery time and point objectives (RTPOs).

Established in 1979, the Dubai World Trade

Centre is the UAE’s largest purpose-built events and exhibitions complex. At the centre of the Middle East’s business tourism, each year the facility creates 25,000 jobs and attracts two million visitors.

With a continuous series of high profile events on the centre’s calendar, a robust IT infrastructure is a prerequisite. Round-the-clock operations also demand

unquestionable levels of availability, timely backups, and efficient use of storage space.

“This region is booming, which is a positive, but with more technology comes more potential security issues,” says Novikov. “There are more targeted attacks and emerging threats now.” To address these everchanging threats, the company has come out with Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business.

Security is a hot topic in the region, with recent incidents sparking the debate on how best to protect businesses. “Though reports say 50 percent of CIOs in the region are primarily concerned with security, I believe that number should be even higher,” says Novikov.

Privacy is another issue that Novikov believes will continue to be on the minds of end-users everywhere. “Everyone should be concerned with protecting their data and maintaining their privacy,” says Novikov. “Everyone is coming up with new ways to do that, and I think that new methods will continue to be developed.”

Kaspersky Lab plans to be a presence at Gitex for many years to come. “Of course we will be back next year, we wouldn’t miss it!”

STC and Ericsson partner for future

The Saudi Telecom Company (STC) has extended its long-standing partnership with Ericsson to transform, expand and upgrade its network in Saudi Arabia.

The move is part of STC’s strategy to reach new horizons in the Networked Society and allows the company to optimise its network performance, scalability and integration using Ericsson’s state of the art technologies.
