McAfee’s Tarek Jundi: Don’t build silos in security At GITEX 2017, McAfee is highlighting how customers can build an intelligence layer to connect all security controls over any ICT environment.

Tarek Jundi, managing director, Middle East and Turkey, McAfee, says, “As part of our partnership at the region’s largest ICT event, we exhibit with our distributors and further strengthen our relationships with them. It is also an opportunity to meet our customers and share our latest announcements around technologies, strategies, focus and partnerships.”

Jundi says there is no silver bullet to achieve an ultimate level of security.

The key component is to build a “cohesive and integrated environment”.

In 2018, we will see the firm working on getting closer to its customer ecosystem and serving its channel community more efficiently.

“We will look at how we can cover the market in a broader way by partnering with large service providers in the region. We consider them as one of our major routes to market. We will enable them to deliver a managed security services by offering programmes and specialisations. The distributors will still play a major role in transacting the business,” he adds.

Infoblox focuses on “quality over quantity” for its channel strategy profitability and enablement. The new programme offers rebate rewards as a way to incentivise partners to drive business with our security offerings. In addition, we have also introduced a new online channel enablement portal.

In a recent partnership, Exclusive Networks has been signed up as an Infoblox Authorised Support Centre (ASC) in the Middle East.

The distributor said the partnership is an extension of the firms’ nine-year association and long-term partnership. By opening an Infoblox Support Centre, the distributor aims to get closer to the partner base and provide more attractive valueadded services in addition to the current professional services and training packages offered. As per the terms of the agreement, the distributor will offer 24x7 telephone and email support, technology health checks, and a range of hardware

replacement options. The company will also provide enhanced services such as an engineer on site in many locations across the Middle East. There will also be a range of tailored support solutions offered, said the firm.

Gigamon joins Exclusive Networks’ vendor ecosystem

As part of its efforts and commitment to expand its channel presence and accelerate sales across the region, Gigamon has recently signed a distribution agreement with Exclusive Networks Middle East for the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

The network monitoring firm highlighted that it has ambitious growth objectives for EMEA over the course of 2017 and 2018. In this light, Gigamon aims to simplify its channel strategy and forge exclusive channel relationships. The company aims to ensure that they can maximise the business opportunities offered by Exclusive Network’s “unique and proven approach to value-added distribution.”

The distribution agreement for Gigamon technology covers 15 countries across EMEA, extending the Exclusive Networks partnerships already established in Germany, the UK, France and Spain into the Nordics, Middle East, Benelux and remainder of the DACH region.

Key objectives for the remainder of 2017 include additional reseller recruitment while bolstering technical services, marketing and pre-sales support for existing and new partners.

Pure Storage reiterates Evolution 2017 findings on digital transformation

As businesses in the Middle East and Africa region accelerate in to the ‘cloud era’, Pure Storage is utilising GITEX Technology Week as a platform to share insights and discus the findings of the recent Evolution 2017 survey.

The global research, which included a survey of 500 IT decision makers in the MEA region, found that 72 percent of businesses in the region are committed to being informationbased companies and as such, are embracing digital transformation.

The key factors driving adoption of digital solutions in the region are new business models (52 percent), need for faster innovation (47 percent), customer demand (47 percent), competition (43 percent), new customer acquisition (43 percent) and cost savings initiatives (42 percent).

Businesses in the region are facing digital transformation

head-on, as 77 percent see more demand in the business for realtime analytics and interactive simulations than a year ago and digital solutions are typically driving almost half of revenue (47 percent on average) for MEA organisations today.

However, despite this growth, technical complexity (53%) and reliance on IT to deliver strategy (41%) have prevented businesses in the MEA region from truly becoming digital.

“While certain businesses in the MEA region are making significant steps towards digital transformation in this cloud era, there are still some key barriers to progress,” said, director of

emerging markets for Pure Storage EMEA. “Findings from our report highlighted that cloud confusion seems evident in workload fragmentation and cloud repatriation. Public, private and hybrid cloud all have momentum, but businesses still lack confidence in where to place specific workloads.”
