Palo Alto Networks plugs endpoint solution Traps Palo Alto Networks General Manager for the Middle East Saeed Agha is delighted the company has had a strong presence for the second year in a row at GITEX Technology Week. “It’s a special event for the region,” Agha says. “There’s nothing else that comes close in terms of the exposure it can give you – and it’s right on our doorstep. The Middle East is very strategic for the company; we’ve increased our invested by a factor of five over the last year, and with good reason.” Palo Alto Networks is using

In the past some people have said that they will be replaced by tablets, but that isn’t the case. Ultimately the debate between notebook and tablet is over. The notebook is going to stay because it is a productive device.” What he does see, is a shift on how

Agha believes it has several key features that distinguish it from its existing competition, “Typical endpoint devices are signature-based, so have to recognise the malware in order to block it,” he says. “Every piece of malware does one of 20 things, but Traps is unique in that it stops the malware from becoming active

gadgets are managed. “Very soon we are going to be controlled by gadgets, says Varghese, “whether you like it or not. This is not a bad thing, provided these things are managed correctly.” Varghese looks to the Smart City initiatives in Dubai and abroad – “Toshiba is connecting all of these devices and gadgets to create a smarter world,” he says. Their new products, Toshiba Cloud Client Manager and Toshiba Smart Client Manager aim to do just that. Both value-added services designed to maximise productivity as well as security.
