Westcon highlights new vendor partnerships
Following the ‘connect lounge’ format for the last five years, Westcon ME Group is using GITEX 2014 as a platform to showcase a few of its newest vendor associations. Steve Lockie, Group Managing Director, Westcon ME
Group says, “We have recently signed up with HP Security, Palo Alto and also as of 1st October, we have opened up our F5 franchise to cover the UAE and Saudi markets. These are the three big players we are working on. And then we are also ensuring that we have the right partner alignments and the right plans in place and will start to execute those for all these vendors.” Reiterating that this format works effectively, Lockie says, “What we aim to have is a series of one-toone business meets with all our key customers and all the key vendor representatives as well. Instead of showing boxes of technologies, we
are trying to identify where all the partnership opportunities are and where our resellers are trying to grow and finally how we think we can help them with our vendor products and services solutions as well.” Westcon has all its three go-tomarket representatives at the show including Comstore, which is the Cisco-centric division, Westcon Security as well as the Unified Communications team. “What we are trying to do is showcase some of the best-of-breed vendors and solutions and have partners visit us here. There is enough facility available here to see where they can best match all of this,” he adds.
